The meals are tasty, but expect a bit more fancy prices. There is a rum bar at the first floor that I haven't tried, but looks very interesting, especially for fans of this particular alcohol. No elevators, just an old school stairs, so if you...need to mind this, all you have left is a sitting outside, that works during summer months only, I assume.More

Lots of people stream to Brno to see the Tugendhat villa. Not many people know about the Era café designed by Josef Kranz. This architect was able to solve a complex task to combine successfully the public zone (café) and private zone of the owner...Josef Spunar. The dominating element of the interior is the starcaise. Although we were sitting in the garden we could not resist and we climbed the staircase just for pleasure. My friend* s mother remembers the time she used to be a small child playing in this café while her mother and aunt were drinking coffee. My friend Iva who studied at the Mendel university remembers the situation in the 80 of the 20 century as she had IT lessons in this building. Fortunately the Era café is open to visitors and it is great to sip coffee and admire this building both from outside and inside.More

The decor is minimalistic, the dishes prepared with care and attention to fresh ingredients. Polite service, vegetarian options, leave space for dessert, all cakes absolutely delish!

Beatiful interior, peaceful location. Only had a coffee but I hope I'll be back for some food too. Great place to stop and read a book. If you're fan of architecture it's a must.

We have gone their with my boyfriend. I ordered barbecued fish with couscous - was very good, though a little bit too salty. My boyfriend ordered steak, which was nice until he came to the end - lots of fatty parts which were hard to...chew. Additionally he was not asked how he wants his steak to be cooked (raw, well done etc.). Even with that dish might be good (not excellent) though he was given simple knife and struggle a lot with steak on his plate (looked in the end un nice especially with all this parts he wanted to avoid to eat. Otherwise I agree - very nice interior, super helpful staff - even if menu not English they did everything for us to be it understandableMore

The Kavarna (Cafe) ERA is less than 10 minutes walk from the famous Villa Tugendhat. The Cafe is housed in the functionalist style building and it keeps a lovely ambiance indoors with a famous blue staircase. We had a lunch and were very pleased by...beer from Dalesice which was so far the best beer we have drunk during our week-end long stay in Brno. The menu was fine with a few lunch options. Furthermore there was a week of the Ukrainian cuisine, so we have tried some specialties, too. This place is a bit far away from the city center, however it is a must if you are visiting the Villa Tugendhat.More

The look and feel of the place is great, a nice place to visit for lovers of architecture. The food is basic, the menu small but the quality is pretty much ok. Too bad it is pretty far from the real city centre.

The building of Era is another functionalistic gem nearby the famous Villa Tugendhat. Not only was this building authentically reconstructed, so you can enjoy your cup of coffee in a beautiful surroundings, you can also chose your meal from a daily menu, which changes according...to a seasonal offer from local producers.More
