Good restaurant and good beer. Popular among local. Better to reserve during week end days. Serve local and international foods. Prices are inexpensive.

Perfectly working pub in city center with tasty czech cuisine and good beer. First floor is nonsmoking. Service is fast and professional. Usually is crowded so make a reservation of the table.

It's a typical Czech pub. This place has very long history, was closed for a period of time, but then reconstructed and reopened and it's a good one restaurant in Brno. I would count this in a group of best places to go in Brno if you want to get good beer and food for reasonable money.

Good food, the beer is top! Try the roast beef fillet, very nice. The food is quite good. The restaurant is well suited for groups, not for couples. On the other hand there should be a quiet place somewhere. The atmosphere is nice.

The staff (not everyone of course but it did happen in two of our visits there) can be very unfriendly and aggressive but to my understanding, that only happens if you're a foreigner. Don't speak Czech? There are other places in Brno that will treat you better... About the food, we ordered a chocolate fondant that came to the table... More

My husband and I both had cordon bleu for our meal and fried cheese for an appetizer - we both thought it was ok, and service was fine. It was typical Czech food.

Went there with my czech buddies for a dinner. Goal was to take me to something typically czech. It started with a traditional soup Kulajda which i quite enjoyed. I was not a big fan of the potatoes bits, but the bacon was a lovely touch. Then i had the Roast pork knee... and this thing was HUMONGOUS. Not only... More

Our experience matched most other reviews. Our waiter was awesome! He spoke very good English, was polite & attentive, and provided suggestions on ordering. We decided to try the cheese board as a starter to sample some Czech cheeses, and we're pleased with all entrees we ordered. Very nice atmosphere as well, would make for a nicer night out but... The famous Stopek's Beer House has always been one of the pillars of Czech social and cultural life in Brno. There has been a pub here since the second half of the 19th century. It became famous with the arrival of the new owner, the genius Jaroslav Stopka, who took over the original Jonak's Beer House in 1910. Period advertisements always declared that the best Pilsner beer could be had at Stopka's. The pub retained its character and atmosphere even after its extensive modernisation. The author of the façade of the beer house is Czech painter and graphic artist Láďa Novák (1865 - 1944), a well-know Prague bohemian and also the author of the decorations on the U Fleků Pub in Prague, was also repaired and renovated. Pilsner Urquell and dark Velkopopovický Kozel, Fénix and Birell Light are all on tap. The head chef at Stopek's Beer House, Matěj Kovacs, recommends the excellent rosemary flavoured roasted lamb hock.
