Had been recommended this restaurant by a friend prior to travelling to Prague so I booked a table online prior to going. We were not disappointed. Despite the restaurant being completely full the waiting staff were attentive and never let your glass get empty. The menu was large with loads of options from pasta to steaks to seafood. Everything we ate was incredible including the pork fillet, gnocchi and the bruschetta. Added to this the amazing views over the river and it was an incredible experience we will treasure forever.

Really enjoyed our dinner at Hotel Matylda Restorante.
Mozerella appetiser was excellent, lentil soup was delicious but a bit spicey, but the Roasted Pork and the Lamb Shank were superior. I ordered lamb shank with roasted potatoes and my wife had the Roasted Pork with Saffron Rice.
One of the very few times that my food has ever been delivered HOT and it was so appreciated!
The waiters seem to work well as a team and were quite good but they also provided the only real negative to the meal.
One waiter was frequently cleaning utensils and continually threw them into a container making load clanking noises during the entire meal. Another waiter continually clanked plates and dishes and the loud noise was continual. Lastly, the bar man made expreso drinks throughout our meal and loudly smashed the bean holder over and over and over again on the counter or a ledge.
The food was outstanding and the chef really needs to be complimented but the added sound effects from the wait staff was a real bummer.....

We booked in advance to get a water side table to have a view of the castle so I do recommend asking for this. Food was very good though our service was a bit on the slow side but overall a good dinner and would return again. It is on the more expensive side but you are paying for eating on a boat overlooking the river and castle.

Staying in the hotel next to the restaurant, we only booked the once for eating there, but ended up going three times in our short stay! Our first day we went simply as check in wasn’t for a few hours. The staff on arrival were immediately brilliant; it’s rare you come across workers that take such pride in what they do, the waiters were attentive, professional and overall a credit to the business.
We went for the sharing cheeseboard, which had a great selection of meats, cheeses, and warm bread. High quality Olive Oil & Balsamic was also served up, and the waiters brought more bread when we needed it. It was lunchtime and after a long flight we didn’t fancy alcohol on this occasion, but wanted some fresh air and a smoke. After our food we were brought out to the front of the boat and brought a fresh bottle of cold water, and provided with blankets and an ash tray to relax. Of course, it’s a boat, so great views and outside atmosphere are part of the deal. It was very relaxing to listen to crashing water from the river as we wound down.
We went back to the restaurant for a meal two nights later…Once again we spent some time at the front of the boat outside, relaxing before our dinner. I went for the Beef Tartare, something I haven’t had in a long time and all I can say is wow. It was amazing. Partner went for the Beef Carpaccio, both dishes are hard to get right and this place did it absolutely spot on. It went excellent with our gin and lemonades. Sadly, I can’t sing quite as high praises for our mains. My partner had the seafood pasta, and I had sous vide chicken. The food was nice, but I think the bar had been set so high with our starters it would’ve been hard to top them!! All of the food was very reasonably priced; drinks were standard for Prague, lovely cheap beer, and our gins were very appropriately priced.
We said we wouldn’t, but on our last day we couldn’t resist heading back for our starters from the previous trip. Once again, TOP notch service, brilliant food and atmosphere, and overall a fantastic dining experience. Please note, there is a surcharge at the restaurant; we personally didn’t mind, as the experience was that good. (Note: On further inspection, we didn’t get charged the surcharge on the first or last meal we had…I cannot find anymore details on this, maybe because the second was a later evening meal, and it was a booking…?)

I wanna underline that we are Italians, and in particular we are neapolitans, and you can take this sentence to be sure that we are used to the good Italian cuisine and, generally, to good food.
We went on this floating boat on the Moldova River, and they were so kind that let us sit in a place where there was a reservation, just because we wanted to see the river and admire the beautiful Prague’s lights and the amazing Castle, which is visible from the boat.
We ordered a Burrata and a Duck’s ham bruschetta, and we immediately recognize the flavour of our land, and the tastes.
I ordered a Spaghetti all’Arrabbiata con Nduja and my Lady ordered a fillet of beef, with truffle and wine cream.
For dessert we get a Tiramisu, absolutely fantastic.
I want to make a plause to the staff, to the good food and the perfect cuisine.
I spoke with one of the waiter - they’re all so prepared and studied in the art of room service - that has told me that all the cooks are Czechs, and that they buy all the products straight right from Italy and other countries where they from.
This waiter was particularly kind and gentle. I thank him.
All so good, all so wonderful.
Probably the best restaurant in Prague, so far.

This is an amazing place to go for special occasions, especially if you love great food! Their dinner options are incredible, and the restaurant also has amazing fish options for those who do not eat meat (a rare find in Prague). The atmosphere is really cozy and welcoming, and it was an amazing place even in-between plates, thanks to their great wine selection. Special thanks to José, the friendly waiter who not only gave some tips on which plates to choose, but that also made us feel welcome by talking to us in Spanish!

Stunning view of the river and Prague castle lit up at night. We were lucky to get the last table on the far side of the boat that hadn’t been reserved. This was the MOST we spent in Prague the whole time we were visiting, it was very expensive for what it was. Service was good, the wine was good, the food was average. We had the octopus & beef tenderloin for starters. Nicely presented but didn’t realise I’d be given a plate of thinly sliced raw beef. Had he Duck & Veal for mains. Again, nothing too special.
Had to remember that you’re paying for the view.
I think the meal came to around £60, (1760 CZK) which isn’t awful for where we were and that’s cheap if you’re to compare it to eating on a boat on the Thames, for example.
Not great food, probably wouldn’t go back, but the view made for a romantic evening.

Our local guide suggested we try this place not only for the food but for its location right on the river. We booked a reservation for a table “on the deck”. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were shown to our table inside and we should have known this was just the start of a disappointing experience. We enjoyed the food. We shared a bowl of tomato soup and the wife had the chicken prepared sous vide. I had a shrimp dish that was tasty with ten shrimp but this main course didn’t include anything but the shrimp-no vegetables. Further, we waited over an hour between the soup course and the main courses. We saw several other tables also waiting very long times for service.
Generally, the service could best be described as disinterested. Servers were not friendly and when i indicated the grape lemonade I ordered was tasteless, I received no reply at all, and after just two sips, was charged for it. Not cool. I ordered a glass of wine as a replacement, so it seemed fair to just wipe off the lemonade, a Prague staple.
Overall, there are too many options for a great meal in Prague to patronize a place that doesn’t seem to care much for its customers.

This is a very interesting Italian restaurant which is on a moored boat across the river from Prague castle. The choices are varied and our meals were delicious. In addition, it has an extensive list of excellent cocktails and our choices were equally delicious. Last, the wine list was chock full of good bottles and everything was expertly served.

A fantastic evening! Incredible customer service, a beautiful setting, a great idea for a restaurant with the best views and then there’s the food which was delicious.
This was our last night in Prague and we had walked along the river that day and saw the Matylda and decided to eat there in the evening. We did an online reservation, which was picked up and confirmed in really quick time.
The moment we got on board we were warmly welcomed by the hardworking gentleman who had an incredibly busy job of working several tables, but doing an absolutely brilliant job of it. And the Barman. Both very lovely chaps and were doing a great job.
The lovely chap that served us was attentive, considerate, polite, humorous and knew a lot about both the drinks and the food menu.
We had a Czech wine recommended by him and well recommended it was too!
The food was just delicious as well. A lovely beef soup with an Italian flare for our starter, I had the absolutely beautiful tagliatelle with sirloin beef ragout- full of flavour! my husband had the chicken thigh wrapped in Parma ham - which was so beautifully cooked; the flavours were just divine. And for dessert the beautiful chocolate fudge cake with sour cherry.
We were given time between courses to rest and chat and our drinks were always topped up when low. - whether it was water or wine.
The whole evening was just so lovely and it topped off our holiday perfectly. A really great way to end.
Thank you to the team for creating a lovely atmosphere, and a great vibe, in a clean, ambient and friendly place.

My family and I went to this restaurant for Christmas dinner and we left really satisfied. Being Italian we are quite demanding about food, but this place (unlike others in Prague) did not disappoint us... in fact it surprised us! We ate well for being abroad and the meals reminded us quite a bit of Italian cuisine. All this at affordable prices (if not almost below average), in a fantastic location (typical furnishings of the boats in the films) directly on the Vltava and with kind and very nice waiters. Recommended for anyone in Prague!

Let me start by saying that our server Andrea was second to none in service. He recommended the best food, wine and starters even though his preferences may have differed. He always made sure every glass was filled at all times in a very busy restaurant. We haven’t had a better waiter in a very long time. His service along with the very romantic boat with riverside seating was the ultimate experience. We will never forget our server and the experience he gave us. He made the entire experience unforgettable. Go to Matylda and hopefully you’ll get Andrea and experience what we did. Regardless it’s a romantic setting to relax and have amazing food. If we are in Praha again, we will definitely come back to this restaurant. Thank you!!!

We went to celebrate our son's 21st birthday and were not disappointed with either the food or the service. The restaurant was surprisingly quiet. We had a table overlooking the river and were able to watch the sunset over this beautiful city. My wife and I shared a selection of salamis and cheeses which were excellent and then 3 of us went for the beef tenderloin steak which was succulent and tender. There was also an extensive wine list. The service was friendly and attentive. I would recommend this restaurant.

I was visiting Prague on vacation with friends and decided to book this restaurant due to the ambience and great reviews, unfortunately we had the opposite experience. The only thing my table enjoyed was the soup we ordered. The cuisine is definitely not authentic Italian at all. The seafood was overcooked and did not taste fresh at all leaving us to all feel ill. The service was also not great. We saw our service probably twice times the entire dinner. It seemed very touristy to me. Do yourself a favor and try the local cuisine food in Czech! So much better out there.
