Another place we pre-booked before getting to Prague, the Matylda was just round the corner from our apartment so a welcome short walk after we did 15km that day... The boatel and restaurant look like a great place to stay and relax in the summer too and was very picturesque at night. Warm welcome as we went in and a... More

To my wife`s and my opinion, Prague is a VERY busy city packed with tourists. Of course, it's a beautiful city and we are tourists, too, but we prefer to travel off the mainstream. I booked our room just a few days in advance and we loved the place. After a few hours of sightseeing we always came back to... More

My daughter and I dinner here last night. Our steaks were cooked to perfection as promised by our friendly waiter Jan. Dessert Tramisu was to die for had to walk to Old town to undo some damage. The food and service can not be faulted. Thank you Jan for looking after us so well.

When we arrived at this restaurant we were shown to our table straight away. The waiter wanted me to sit facing the bar and staff but I wanted to sit the opposite side of the table and he seemed to take offence to this... After this we were made to feel really uncomfortable... Abrupt staff and the food was only... More

Hallelujah we found on our last night a good restaurant. The staff were friendly, the food really good and the location was beautiful. The menu was varied, something for everyone. The price wasn't the lowest but worth it. We had two mains, four sides and two drinks and it was about £40/€50. The waiters even came around at one point... More

After a beautiful day walking the old town and Palace, ended up having a wonderful dinner with great wine and excellent service here. Perfect for romantic dinner admiring sunset at the Moldova riverside. Prague is breathtaking and more so from this place.

We had a very pleasant, relaxing lunch at this restaurant following a morning's bustle around the Old Town area in the hot summer sun. The outside area is fairly small and compact, but has lovely views over the weir and across the Vltava river towards the castle. The food was reasonably priced and very tasty and the service was speedy... More

This restaurant was a great experience from all angles. Food was absolutely delicious, the service was, with the exception of one specific waiter, perfect and by sitting on the side of the boat that is away from the shore we have experienced a breath-taking view on Prague castle, river with boats and ducks. All in a golden tan coming from... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
