I visited Aldente after some time and with expectation that it will match their previous exquisite quality. Boy, I was wrong. Nervous, unhelpful staff that does not know the beverage menu, that must be asked to bring parmigianno for pasta, that does not offer dolce...or coffee after the meal and that must be asked twice for the bill. It all would be fine should the food be good. Burrata as appetizer tasted ok, but main course with tenderloin should not be served at all: chunks of fat, unevenly grilled with basically no taste.More

This restaurant was recommended by friends who had already visited Prague. It was in Old Town within walking distance to our hotel which was great! The staff was great. Their English was excellent and the hostess had even lived in US for a while. They...were very friendly, attentive and efficient. The building decor is quaint and interesting and very nice and casual at the same time. We clearly hadn't heard of a lot of the wines, and when we made our selection they were out of it! Not to worry they let us taste one before we bought a bottle we wouldn't like. The bread and olive oil were excellent for nibbling while we waited on our entree. The salad was very fresh and I had a shrimp stuffed ravioli. It didn't look like anything I have ever had anywhere but, the vodka type cream sauce was rich and delicious. I was way to full for dessert so I can't speak to that, but this was a lovely experience and delicious meal.More

Highly recommended Italian restaurant - truly enjoyed every dish they offered. We had amazing salmon and tuna tartar (tuna tartar is must try in this place, they add really delicious sauce). Then we’ve got a generous plate of homemade pasta (OUT OF THIS WORLD) and...salmon served with mashed potato and beetroot sauce (TRULY FANTASTIC!) Don’t get into tourist traps just next to astronomic clock - walk around and find this amazing cozy place!More

What a terrific eatery, with staff all working together to give the diner a great dinner experience. We ate here on a Friday night just before all the Christmas Markets opened the next morning, and perhaps why we lucked out on a table with no...reservation around 8pm? I was actually very surprised to see the last negative reviews when I went to post mine! We experienced nothing but a great night and just loved our main waitress-forget her name after major jet lag now, but has a great, sassy haircut and an outgoing personality to match! She made suggestions, some could say upsales-but that’s her job and thoughtfully declining is always your option, which we do for some. My husband did try a wine she suggested for his second glass, and he loved it, much more than his picked, first glass choice. I don’t drink, so I’m not going to pretend to understand, but because he ordered the pork belly as his main-wonderful, with a hint of anise that would never be a flavor I’d seek before-her wine suggestion was to work well with the fattiness of the pork belly, which he agreed. He had a soup starter, which he also enjoyed. I had a filet, ordered rare to medium rare-served exactly as ordered, with mushrooms and wonderfully done roasted potatoes. For me, I felt my fillet could of used a touch more of salt at cooking, and I never salt my cooked food, I actually find that my food is usually over salted when eating out. BUT, having said that, I found under salted to be a good, easily remedied problem! (I will also say, I found most of the food in Prague, in general, under salted, but again, I prefer to be able to easily fix that myself than be served overly salty food that I often find in the states, with a no fix option!) I do suggest asking to add some roasted shallots with that anise hint to the fillet, as my husband had some left from his pork that I swiped, and they put my fillet with mushrooms over the top! We finished with just some simple, but terrific, mango sorbet/ice cream (not sure which, as both were listed and it was not ice like at all, as some sorbets are, but was of a creamier consistency.) We had a terrific night, food around us looked terrific too, as well the service to others. All seamed happy, including the young kids the presumed owner was lost in a long, friendly conversation with along with a male chaperone. The setting is a lovely Italian osteria type, very comfortable, but pretty look and feel. In American conversion, I think our bill was about a $60 meal, including a well deserved tip, which is VERY cheap here in America considering the quality of food and the very personal, friendly service. Our water glasses never sat unfilled! Please keep in mind that my review is based off of the type/class of restaurant this is, and this place is way beyond the presentation, flavors, and service one might expect at a moderately priced establishment. Just Terrific!More

Upon arrival the staff appeared annoyed that they had to wait on a table and help a customer. After receiving my order it was bland and there was absolutely no follow up. I’m not sure I would ever recommend this place to anyone. My bill...came and was wrong. They declined to help me or change it. In the end I paid to get the hell out of this trap. As an American dining in Prague this was a horrible experience in which they tacked on additional things I didn’t order. You have zero options in a foreign country but to pay up and warn others about places like this. The remainder of my 2 weeks was wonderful and I can’t say enough about the wonderful people of Prague and Czechia as a whole.More

Disgraceful attitude from the chef!! We simply asked to swap spaghetti for penne in the carbonara dish. The chef refused citing the sauce lends itself better to spaghetti! Regardless of his opinion, the customer is always right, if I want to eat penne with my...carbonara sauce it should be possible!! The waiting staff were lovely and mortified, sorry you have to work with such a horrible person!More

Aldente served excellent Italian food at a reasonable price. The staff were helpful and friendly, even when they were serving a party of 60 downstairs. The interior had lots of interesting features, and the dessert menu is stamped onto your place mat.

The service was excellent, the tomato soup and bread were delicious. The location was great because it was just outside the mobbed touristy areas.

Very much enjoyed our dinner here. Great alternative when you tire of the smoked pork products Prague is famous for. We shared a grilled calamari salad and then each tried one of the pastas. Also had an excellent reasonably priced bottle of wine. Our server...was friendly and helpful. All in all an excellent experience.More

We had lunch at this excellent Italian restaurant. The service was excellent and we enjoyed the typical well made Italian cuisine. I would particularly recommend the cold cucumber soup and the pork ribs. For dessert do not miss their signature pistachio ice cream and their...tiramisu. The service was good and it was an afternoon well spent dining at this restaurant.More
