Teenage waitress smirking as she informs us the traditional HamNEggs that had been on Slavia menu for over 30 years never existed, ever. Oh it must be our old age memory acting up. Slavia changed menu recently and everything is overpriced and not very good....After 30 years its time to say bye bye. Dont bother, you can be treated to better food with better attitude elsewhere.More

We visited this coffee place knowing its long association with artists of all sorts. It was ok for a quick coffee break and a dessert albeit a bit pricey. Friendly staff. Great views of the National Theatre and Vltava river.

EN ------------------ We visited the cafe after more than 10 years. The environment is very nice and recently renovated, unfortunately there is unpleasant noise in the cafe due to the poor acoustics (even without open windows). Overall, the space feels too cold and seems to...have lost its original charm. We were quickly served by a nice tattooed waitress (there were few guests in the cafe). The surroundings were clean and tidy, cutlery and serving without reservation. The food is unfortunately average to below average, but not downright bad, it's just noticeable that it's aimed at foreigners who have no idea what Czech food is supposed to taste like. The desserts, however, were excellent. The prices were exorbitant, obviously aimed at foreigners, and as a result the café lost the charm created by the locals and especially the artists who frequented it. With these prices and the so-called Czech gastronomy, this type of visitor was lost, leaving mostly only tourists. Locals try to avoid such places. The café in the next house with the same view of the river and Hradčany, nice interior and reasonable prices was full of young people. More

I love Prague, been going for many years and if there's one cafe I know I'm going to visit it's Cafe Slavia ,the most famous cafe in the Czech Republic . Housed in the beautiful Lazensky Palace ,the interior is opulent ,wonderful decor and furnishings and...lots of seating options ,it's a wonderful cafe to unwind in. After the two plus years since my last visit to Prague due to the pandemic I couldn't wait to visit here, jumping the tram over Legion Bridge and then walking in here was special,my twin brother Stephen and I ordered a coffee each and a cake ,service was quick and pleasant and the coffee was amazing, from the first sip till the last sup you know you've been served a quality coffee, cake was also amazing but what was best was just being back in Prague again and in an a cafe of this quality,we enjoyed our coffee and cakes in here before we moved on and as on previous visits to here we had a wonderful time,it's easy to locate along Smetanovo Nabrezi and open from 9am till midnight every day.More

Nice place to visit due to the lovely views but the place could be much better specially if the food would have a bit of taste. We ordered a sandwich from the mains but the ham had no taste and the sauce it tasteless.Shame! Such a...nice place with a pleasant atmosphere would do so much better if the food would join that .The little waitress with tattoos so friendly and the gentleman who served did apollogied for the tasteless plate but it still came on the bill.I dont look for gifts or free drinks but just the apollogy is not enough in such an establishment .Pity! My rate of 3* is just due the fact that plate was so bad and tasteless ( and the leaves of that salad all over the plate )????!! Oh God! Bit more chatty staff is more welcomed .Im in the industry myself and trust me i know what im saying .Anyway we will be back to sing to that piano .More

I've loved Slavia in the past for its great location, ambience and grest food. Tragically the new owner has downgraded the menu and the food has cheap cuts of bad meat and lack of flavour is unpalatable by a very bad chef The desserts were...fabulous though and coffee good. I won't be eating at Slavia again. I'm heartbroken. What a crying shame.More

I had very bad experience with Cafe Slavia. I didn't like the quality of food and the staff attitude. I shared my experience on the Google reviews and received very rude answer from the cafe Slavia representative! They blamed me that I use the fake...account to destroy their business! How ridiculous is that? I don't recommend the cafe. Very rude unpleasant attitude on all levels of communication.More

My wife and I came here 5 or 6 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, fabulous traditional service and fantastic cakes, so it was incredibly disappointing to go back at 4pm on a Tuesday to experience the awful service (far too few staff) and...the complete loss of atmosphere. The saving grace is the amazing cakes, coffee and pastries. Thank the heavens for these.More

This is my 5th review of Cafe Slavia . On our trips to Prague, we always make time to stop for coffee and dessert , seeking a nice table overlooking the river and the Legii Bridge. I used to live just across the bridge on...the other side of the river bank. Have many wonderful memories of the area, it is amazing how little has changed. The Cafe - after restoration, much needed after it was run down during the communist era - is back to its glory. Favorite of my parents, years ago. During this visit, my husband and I had a nice dinner here. We were staying in a hotel nearby and Slavia was in a walking distance. After all those years coming here just for coffee and dessert, we decided trying it for dinner. We were surprised by the wide variety of the Czech favorite specialties. We had a lovely dinner, great roasted duck, but once again, the dessert was a winner. Rakvicky with whipped cream - amazing! Budvar beer to drink ... Our server was Vaclav, very nice guy, who took great care of us. We invited our Prague relatives for dinner, when our Prague visit was coming to the end. Lo and behold, they chose Slavia. So, we repeated the nice experience we had a week prior. This time, four adults, enjoying orders of soups , Rizecky z panenky and kachna ( duck) ...Budvar beer ... Another nice evening to remember . Till next time, Dekuji a NashledanouMore

Not at all during the day. I had the feeling that it might be a bit smarter in the evening, but certainly not over the top - smart casual perhaps.
