This is my 5th review of Cafe Slavia . On our trips to Prague, we always make time to stop for coffee and dessert , seeking a nice table overlooking the river and the Legii Bridge. I used to live just across the bridge on...the other side of the river bank. Have many wonderful memories of the area, it is amazing how little has changed. The Cafe - after restoration, much needed after it was run down during the communist era - is back to its glory. Favorite of my parents, years ago. During this visit, my husband and I had a nice dinner here. We were staying in a hotel nearby and Slavia was in a walking distance. After all those years coming here just for coffee and dessert, we decided trying it for dinner. We were surprised by the wide variety of the Czech favorite specialties. We had a lovely dinner, great roasted duck, but once again, the dessert was a winner. Rakvicky with whipped cream - amazing! Budvar beer to drink ... Our server was Vaclav, very nice guy, who took great care of us. We invited our Prague relatives for dinner, when our Prague visit was coming to the end. Lo and behold, they chose Slavia. So, we repeated the nice experience we had a week prior. This time, four adults, enjoying orders of soups , Rizecky z panenky and kachna ( duck) ...Budvar beer ... Another nice evening to remember . Till next time, Dekuji a NashledanouMore

We took a break here after walking around, sitting on the terrace watching the sunset and it was really nice time. We ordered the Original Budweiser, sausage and soup for snacks and it was ok...I was hoping for the original thicker sausage though but it...was quite ok. Prices are average for the area...if weather allows, sit outside and enjoyMore

It’s ok... we just stopped by to just have a break. The waiter was nice. But nothing special in my opinion. It’s has a nice, nostalgic feel to it. Not very busy, which was great.

I was exploring around and decided to come in to rest our feet and quench our thirst. I also wanted to know what was so special about this place that I hear from other acquaintances. As I walked in there was no one to greet...us, so I helped myself and found a nice seat by the window with a view of the National Theatre. After I sat down a waiter noticed us and brought the menus. We tried an assortment of smoothies, expressos, sandwich, steak and crepes. The food was served in timely manner and not too rushed. We enjoyed the leisurely time and atmosphere. We spent a good amount of time just talking and enjoying our food. It was a worthwhile experience.More

We order cakes, ice cream, apple strudel for a relaxing night near the river. The place where authentic, it seems you where brought back in time, also the waiter gave us the leaflet of the old history of the restaurant with old picture, Most of...the decor, table arrangement hasnt been change. About the food the apple strudel is the best with coffee on the side. The cakes are so delicious. Price wise its little above the other cafe, but the feeling, history and ambience, priceless.More

Go back to the 80s. Dishes have no idea, no fun, no colour, no taste. Would not recommend to anyone who has at least a decent expectation.

We came here after arriving in Prague! We tested out our two Czech words.....hello and thank you! And we’re re arsed with attentive service, great beer and delicious food! Budvar was chilled and the pancakes with blue cheese and bacon very satisfying.

Classic art nouveau set up on the basement of the magnificent Municipality palace next, very centrally placed. Good place for lunch break and close to many interesting museums (Mucha, Communism), and shopping malls. Good service and reasonable prices with touristic menu. On the same floor...there is another even more beautiful and upscale restaurant.More

Not at all during the day. I had the feeling that it might be a bit smarter in the evening, but certainly not over the top - smart casual perhaps.
