A table at the window, view of the castle, bridge and river, coffee and dessert, experiencing rendez-vous around you and relax. Food was so so but not expensive

Delicious food, menu with lots of upscale choices. Great service. I had tomato soup with strawberry sorbet and it was perfect. My family had various salads and they liked it a lot.

I returned to Slavia last week, it is an Icon of Prague, what has changed? The service has improved immeasurably from the time just after the Velvet Revolution. The food was fantastic at lunch time, I had an immense salad with chicken walnuts and blue cheese. Very fresh, very delicious. My partner had a Salmon dish, the quality of the... More

I live in Prague, and should now be used to sour service, but I was embarrassed by the service I received when I recently visited Cafe Slavia. Friends from the UK were visiting, and I suggested Slavia for the history and the view. We waited a full 10 minutes for service. I then had to get up, and walk to... More

Kavarna Slavia is more than famous. Cafe Slavia is a survivor. Newly opened at the end of the19th century, the Cafe's glory days were during the First Republic. Before WWII. It survived the war intact and the Soviet era too.The communist government did not shut it down. (as they did Cafe Louvre). Cafe Slavia - a smokey cafe in a... More

You pay for the view and the history. Great location. Good coffee. Ok pastries. Food is overpriced and needs help. Menu looks like it has expanded since last visit. Food is bland and you can do better in Praha. Wonderful place to people watch along the river. Nice building and clean toilets. Ok service. Go for a coffee and the... More

My husband and I took shelter here and enjoyed excellent coffee and cake on our tour of Prague. The service was great and the art deco décor is wonderful - as are the views of the river and castle beyond.

The cafe looks like in 19th century. Is very elegant and has its own climate. I had only a problem with people smoking inside. I thought it is not possible anymore, I was wrong.

We were there on a late afternoon. Just like in the old days a pianoman was playing and we drink Bubbles. Local favorite Bohemia with some finger food. Good place to see and sit and watch the people. But still everyone can smoke in this kind of locations. That is a pity

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
