I've visited many times and the food is excellent. A nice cosy restaurant in central Prague, quite affordable and frequented by locals especially at lunch time during working days. The only drawback to me was the repetitive lazy waitress who I perhaps just a bit too relaxed, on her phone and not paying too much attention. I would still recommend... More

though it seems relatively obscure, Universal is consistently perfect. Steaks are grilled to perfection, sauce are spot on and the best Musle starter in Prague. Professional service and a nice decor makes this a perfect choice for a nice dinner out. It may seem a little expensive but worth every crown.

Really good food for a fair price! Friendly waiter! The only thing missing, was a candle on the table and red squarred table clothes, typical for a French bistro.

We came there with a very good slevomat voucher: for 500CZK we could eat for 1000 CZK. We were three and we had a green peas soup and a tasty tuna tartar (the salmon tartar as well). As main courses, we had a very tasty spaghetti with gambas, another with mushrooms and a big salad. You should try eat one... More

Stumbled across this place while looking for somewhere for a Saturday night dinner. Food, service, atmosphere and wine were all faultless - would recommend.

Average lunch menu, cheap but nothing special. Staff is OK but not so nice and helpful. It is a very noisy place, so it is hard to hear each other.

we went to universal for a quick lunch and today's menu looked really well and we could all find food from it for all our tastes. the salmon pasta was 129 czk on the lunch menu and it was quite delicious, although the portion size wasn't the biggest I've seen in prague so far. but the best thing about the... We come here since it opened many years ago. It is still one of our favourite restaurants in Praha. It feels like a France bistro, it taste like a France bistro. The quality from the food is excellent , the wines are good and the staff is very nice. They have a daily menu and on sunday they have a... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
