The venue is intimate with low ceilings so not great for those who are tall like myself at 6'4". That might be the only issue.
Service? Superb. Prompt withouht being pushy and they DON'T interrupt you mid-meal to ask how your fod is. This is superb and needs to be installed as good customer service practice.
Food? Put simply the best meal I have had on the continent. The pork steak is flavoured to the core and had me dipping my french fries in the jus of the steak. The chocolate fondant however is put simply the best dessert END DISCUSSION. Just cooked enough to set with a lava of chocolate sauce so rich it bankrupt's Jeff Bezos and to top it off, the ice cream is superbly smooth. My wife had the mash and mushroom sauce which was ridiculously smooth and rich.
We left the venue annoyed at not having a longer holiday to return to the venue. Simple food done superbly with the right level of service.

A great choice of interesting Czech dishes available.
Service was swift; attentive but not oppressive.
I had duck which was one of the best duck dishes I have had. My partner had the goose. Also very good.
We shared a delicious chocolate fondant that was a light in texture but rich in flavour perfect finish to our meal.
I would recommend a visit,

My visit to Restaurace Husinec was excellent. The restaurant specialises in traditional Czech cuisine and is excellent value for money.
I started with Steak Tartare which was generously portioned with fried bread and a dazzling selection of about half a dozen accompaniments.
My main course was a quarter portion of duck, braised red cabbage, and assorted bread dumplings. I washed this down with ½ litre of undoubtedly the best lager I've ever had in my life - delicately flavoured and perfectly chilled.
All of this came to CZK 662 (about GBP 27) which I thought was excellent value for money. Service was attentive and the waiter advised how to pay by card to reduce transaction fees (pay in CZK).
I'm only in Prague for a few days but I hope to go back to Restaurace Husinec again while I'm here.

We were there for an early dinner, there was only one other couple in the restaurant, and still the service was very slow, even waiting for the check.
The appetizer (goose pate) looked like not fresh, but they refused to replace it. The goose was very tough.
It was a hot day, and it was very hot inside the restaurant. No A/C or ventilators.

It's hard to understand the positive reviews. The food is not particularly good, the meat was dry. Be careful, we add 10% of service without asking you and without giving you the ticket. I had to ask for it. It's dishonest to do it this way, which is why it only deserves one star from me.

Order the quarter goose and would not really suggest it. Was recommended to via a friend and found out they had the duck. The goose was on the dry and boney side. If you are a healthy eater than do not order this dish as it would feel like an appetizer. The taste was a touch on the salty side and the soup was a little heavy on the salt.

The food was very good ratio to the price. But I've never had such a bad service. When we ordered a cola more they rolled with the eyes or sucked. It's the least service-minded place I've ever been. When we wanted to pay, they ignored us so we had to go over to them to get the check. At last when we paid we chose not to give them any drink money because we felt we were in trouble and they were tarvelig towards us and did not want to sever us. The waiter refused that we would not give drink money, and when we got trumped through and paid, he threw the receipt on my friend and left. We said goodbye and good evening to them but they ignored us.

Hello, we are very sorry that you had a bad experience with our restaurant! Can I ask you to specify where your visit took place? What time was it? What did the unpleasant waiter look like? I need this information to draw conclusions. I don't want this to happen again!! Please accept my apology.

We stayed in the hotel next door and they recommended the restaurant. We had dinner there twice and lunch the day we left. Food was excellent and service swift and friendly. Menu has a lot of traditional Czech dishes and they specialise in duck and goose. The goose with dumplins and red cabbage is amazing. The local beer is also really good and prices cheaper than the more obvious tourist areas nearby.

We came to eat in this restaurant after visiting a museum not far away, we were very curious to try their roast duck and our curiosity was amply rewarded, cooked very well, soft and tender meat but crispy outside the skin, very tasty, was accompanied by traditional Czech dumplings and cabbage as well as other side dishes. Also delicious beer, really quality. We finished our meal with a great strudel. There are not many restaurants that serve duck, especially of this quality, very nice location, we ate in the outdoor garden given the excellent climate, but the indoor room really deserves a lot, with a Cabin style that tastes like a tavern and typical local. Absolutely a restaurant not to be missed!

Nice place, chosen because it was a 5 minute walk from our hotel "Praga 1", we went without a reservation, but it was the end of January. Quick and helpful staff who also speak a few words of Italian. We ate baked goose and duck, very abundant and tasty dishes, which already include the side dish. Even my celiac daughter managed to find the right dish even though the side dishes, apart from the usual potatoes, and the fresh vegetables that they proposed as an alternative, all contained gluten.
The price is a little higher than the Prague average (still €40 for two), but the doses and location justify it. Furthermore, if you still have energy, a few steps away there is the national theater which is very suggestive at night with the warm lighting typical of the buildings of this city and Wenceslas Square, nothing exceptional but large, full
of clubs, lively and animated even on a cold winter night.

A friend recommended this place so we checked the reviews… a couple questioned the service and atmosphere but I’m not sure what they were talking about. We were quickly taken to a table that was available by a friendly staff member. Then after a few minutes another friendly staff member came and took our drinks order. These arrived at our table quite quickly at which point our food order was taken. The waiter recommended the beef sirloin in cream sauce which was delicious! (Don’t let the whipped cream put you off, apparently it’s a thing). The ribs were also ordered and they were very tasty also. The atmosphere reminded us of a small family run restaurant and the vibe was quite friendly and unpretentious. The wait staff were great, attentive and never once asked for or even mentioned tipping. Beer and wine was cheap and food was adequately priced. Would happily eat there again.

Welcome to Prague!
Just a few minutes walk from the metro station and at the foot of the majestic Narodni Museum, hungry after the exhausting journey and the now late timetable, we come across this restaurant with a very inviting goose sign.
In addition to the friendly welcome and professionalism of the staff, the location is really nice .. a nice tavern and a large outdoor space.
We eat a main course of roast duck with sauerkraut and pancakes surrounded by a nice garlic mashed potatoes, obviously accompanied by excellent local beers.
Great bill.

Very disappointing experience. The service was extremely poor and slow. At the end I asked clearly that I did not want the tip to be included in the bill because I was not impressed with the service. The waiter sneakily included the tip in the final bill anyway. A pack of dishonest people who try to rip of tourists. Will not be returning to the restaurant, will not be returning to the country either - very bad impression.

Restaurant near the National Museum found by chance that allowed us to eat excellent local cuisine such as goose and roast duck. Hearty dishes, very cozy locales and of course great beer. Very friendly staff.

We had a recommendation to visit here from a friend, we went twice in our 4 day long weekend in Prague it was so good and so much I wanted to try.
We had the main of goose pancakes with purple cabbage in pancakes served as a starter to share and was amazing! Then both had mains I loved my pork Steak with garlic and the creamiest mash and my partner had the beef goulash … we would fly back just for the food and this secret hideaway. It’s was a gorgeous restaurant, the best service and food and drinks was 950czk.We had the best time in Prague xx
