We had a fantastic dinner here a few nights ago. It is located a bit away from the main tourist area, but just a short 15 minute or so walk. My husband had the steak of beef with a side of sweet potato fries and I had the grilled duck breast with sweet potato puree. Both were excellent!!! Our waiter was very good and made some great suggestions for us. We loved the decor with the brick archways and the beautiful tanks of beer. Prices were very reasonable. We would absolutely dine here again!

Fast, friendly service; cheap beer; hot, tasty food made to order; and traditional dishes at a better value than you'll find near the plaza (and without the dozens of loud customers). Truly a lovely place - highly recommended, especially as a couple of starters was enough to make a meal! I was surprised and delighted at how spicy the latkes were... order if you love pepper.

I was looking for a restaurant where locals ate and this was the place. The servers and staff seemed to have way too much attitude, but maybe because it was just me and I’m not a drinker. I ordered the roasted pork knee, and it was served on a spit and was massive. Outside was hard and chewy, but the meat on the inside was perfect. Great atmosphere.

I have never in my life sent food back to the restaurant until today. I thought with a high rating on trip advisor it at least will be decent. I even thought to myself I won’t write this review - but then how else is the restaurant supposed to improve?
I ordered a duck which was supposed to come with some dumplings and cabbage. Initially I ordered a beer first then the duck. The duck literally came out 2 mins after I ordered and then I knew there would be problems. Straight from the microwave onto the table. Speechless. The smell of the food which hit my table… I was repulsed. I tried to cut the duck open but it was like burnt leather. The most dry duck I’ve ever witnessed. You’d need a hacksaw to cut through it. The dumplings or whatever it was, was the blandest thing I’ve ever seen. I tried to take a bite and eating burnt cardboard would have been better. I then thought the cabbage might be better but it looked like, smelled like cabbage in a can from a forgotten warehouse 7 years ago.
For an order of duck, which is usually something more expensive on the menu, this has been the most disgusting and shocking order of my life. Please for the sake of anyone else coming - improve this and get rid of the 2 minute microwave service especially for a duck!!!
This is an absolute health risk and it’s why
I’m writing this review.
The only positive I’ll give is the service from the staff. Seated accordingly and the waiter understood my complaint. No way would I give a dime for this food. Which is in the negative of ratings.
I’m not sure what standard the rest of the menu is but if this is anything to go by it must be improved for the sake of the health of your patrons and the money they spend.

Located right across the street from a hotel we stayed in, it was the choice for our tired feet. Great choice! Courtyard seating was available, we were pleasantly greeted and attended to immediately. Our beer and cocktail arrived promptly and as we requested, food arrived after we had time to relax and enjoy our drinks. My beef tartare, already mixed and decorated with tiny fresh basil leaves was accompanied by 4 slices of toast and 4 huge fragrant garlic cloves. Incredibly delicious, I enjoyed every single bite. My husband’s huge pork knee was presented with sauerkraut and a pickle, impressive and tasty, he enjoyed it very much, however could not finish it and take away option was offered. I would have loved to try a desert, it was so pleasant to sit here. The 2 gentlemen taking care of us were absolute professionals and we recommend stopping by to everyone.

Ordered the roast pork knuckle and duck confit as recommended by our taxi driver, Alex. Big portion of pork that I was unable to finish. Not as tasty as I would have thought. The duck was dry but then again, these are 2 of the specialities at a renowned restaurant, so they must be as the locals love it. The only highlight of the night was the 0.5l of beer at €2.

Came here as it was across the road from the Hotel we were staying at. Everything about this place is spot on. The waiters were friendly and helpful the food was well cooked, tasty and hot and smelt delicious. The restaurant itself is interesting and full of quirky stuff to attract your attention whilst eating or even walking to the toilets. The prices were proper reasonable for such a quality place and this will be getting our custom should we return again.

The food here really isn't very good at all. It is served very quickly and clearly hasn't been freshly cooked. The chicken was dry, the mashed potato was very rustic (i.e. lumpy) and the vegetables were completely cold. Other dishes were equally disappointing. It may be fairly cheap but for not very much more you can get much, much better food in other places.

I made a promise to myself that I would come often through good experiences with good people from Prague, the Czech Republic, where I came 5 years ago, and I visited Prague again after 5 years, which I couldn't come due to Corona. We stayed at Hotel Grandium and visited in the evening for food and drinks as locals recommended that it is a place visited by celebrities. The tall, thin-haired waiter did not welcome us in his facial expression and behavior, and he didn't order the main menu but only ordered the side menu and beer, so he asked the waiter to place an additional order. Didn't care and didn't come to our table. After that, another waiter took our additional orders, and after we finished eating, we called the waiter who took our first order to checkout, but he took the card for payment, and after payment, threw the receipt at the table and left. We were very offended by the different attitude from the other tables and felt like he were being racist. I had good memories of Prague before my visit to this restaurant today, but after that, I will not visit Prague again.

The restaurant was an insider tipp and we went there happily to taste Czech restaurant atmosphere, Czech food and Pilsen beer. We ordered the classic food Gulash and Spare Rips, French Fries. Unfortunately, all the food was served us 5 minutes after we ordered! Quick kitchen? No! That‘s not the point! It‘s definitely sad to say that the food wasn‘t prepared fresh, just warmes up! It was neither busy lunch time nor dinner time, we were there at 16:00, the restaurant had only guests at 3 tables! I understand that it‘s not easy to prepare spare rips fresh in 10-15 minutes, they maybe have to mid-prepare them and finish cooking them when the guests order. But if you even can’t prepare french fried fresh, then I really don’t know! In the center of the Square, we saw many restaurants after that, having full of guests and eating same dishes, which looked definitely fresher and more delicious than ours! The prices were the same, so don’t think that the very touristic square is very expensive. We don‘t recommend this place to anyone and it couldn‘t be a representative of Czech Kitchen in our eyes, as we tourists really felt taken for fool today. Very sad about it.

I had read on a blog somewhere that this place was opposite our hotel and worth a visit. We turned up without a reservation on our first evening as our flight was late and we were starving. We walked through the arch and entered the conservatory part of the restaurant. We were seated immediately. A good menu with English (thankfully) I opted for the wild boar as I haven't had any for 20 plus years. 10/10 I explained I couldn't have cow's milk so was unable to have the mash and was offered potato rosti. My Mum wanted cider and they were very thoughtful and explained that one was extremely strong and that she might prefer a low alcohol fruit cider. My Mum is 83 and was quite touched by this. We also ate here later in the week but entered through the main entrance which we hadn't noticed on our first evening! A very jovial and busy restaurant! Lots of Christmas parties. Again, no reservation and a table was found for us. Staff were great, again, and this time we both had a starter and both had the boar. This time with very nice French fries. Plenty of prosecco for me and again fruit cider for my Mum. Our waiter, Tomas was attentive despite the very busy evening. Would highly recommend 👌

A really disappointing experience at dinner here. We were looking forward to dining here after having seen so many good reviews but sadly we were very disappointed. The food came very quickly, within five minutes of ordering, and not all of it was warm. The mustard mash with chicken was too salty for my taste and the boar in cream sauce had a dollop of cream on top of gravy. The duck and BBQ ribs were okay but not like a French confit duck leg! Overall disappointing.

Careful service, excellent welcome, and very satisfactory quality of dishes. A great discovery among the restaurants of Prague.
This restaurant is located on Politickych veznu street opposite the Grandium Prague hotel and although it is very slightly out of the way, it is almost full from opening until closing. The interior is vaulted and it is only upon entering that you realize the grandeur of the restaurant. The clientele is mainly from Prague, and comes to eat at all hours. As for us, we were delighted with the quality of the dishes at more than reasonable prices. We highly recommend this restaurant.

As a chef I can solve the conflicting reviews. As a gastro pub Bredovsky Dvur would get 4 or 5 stars. At 6pm on Wed there were 100 mostly Czechs having a great time in a huge bar and 3 dining rooms. All the outside tables were already taken. Vibrant atmosphere in an historic building.
They brew their own excellent beer.
Food was very good for pub and mediocre for a restaurant. As a restaurant i would give it 2 or 3 stars.
Classic Czech food is slowed cooked starting in the morning and eaten all day. Think pot roast or crock pot. Czech restaurants actually had a problem when they joined the EU which forbids food to be served more than 4 hours after it is cooked. So of course the slow cooked food can be served in 5 minutes; that is about how long it took my boar to arrive.
A lot of locals were having made to order cheeseburgers and the great beer.

As we were keen to eat traditional Czech food, we ate at Bredovsky Dvur on the suggestion of our walking tour guide. Although this restaurant is more pub style, it certainly has plenty of atmosphere and quality food. We were pleased to be seated in the front section rather than with larger groups at the rear. Usually, we choose different meals, but we were both pleased that we settled on the goulash with potato pancakes. I had previously had Kozel dark in a bottle and enjoyed the opportunity to have the draught (draft) version. It was pleasing to see the use of bottled wine in the house Czech Cabernet. The popularity of this restaurant means that it is wise to make a booking.
