We were wandering around back streets before going to see the clock in the Old Square. We looked at lunch prices at the cafes right on the square as we wandered. We came across this restaurant. We were well received and a sort-of-English speaking woman...came to us. She understoof my husnands allergie issue and we had a very nice meal It cost, with a beer for him and a Coke for me, about half what it would have cost on the square. And there were all kinds of neat old gadgets (for want of a better word) around including a really cool clock on one wall.More

We went here two times: once for lunch & once for dinner. It’s very delicious & cheap!! It’s only €1,90 for a half liter of beer. The first time we ate a schnitzel and a pasta with tomatoes. The other time we ate the porked...ribs and the salmon with potato fries & vegetables. The salmon was really delicious and highly recommended! The staff is also very kind.More

This is so far is the best place for a lunch in Prague. Even though placed off the main tourist flow in an old city, it is on the oldest street of Prague. And the kitchen is just the best we've met for a lunch....The magic interior is hypnotizing.More

As the title says, great beer, inexpensive prices and attentive service by the staff! Just off the tourist path is a no nonsense restaurant and bar. Would definitely go back. The Bowla Bar across the street deserves an honourable mention , but isn’t on Trip...Advisor to rate. Amazing B-52’s !!!More

This place is amazing. I had first stopped here on a beer culture tour and accidentally stumbled across it again so decided to stop in for dinner. There was live music playing in the background which added to the ambiance. I ordered the pork knuckle...and the Krusovice dark lager (a MUST try in Prague). The portion of food was very delicious and the portion was generous. Friendly staff and great atmosphereMore

We have been to this restaurant each time we have visited Prague (4-5 times in the restaurant). We have never had a bad meal and most times it is excellent. Big, filling, tasty portions at a very reasonable price. Usually that means the drinks are...expensive but the opposite is true here. Beer worked out at £1.25/pint. I can recommend the pork knee, goulash and the beef in cream sauce. All filling and very satisfying. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the service was a little slow, even with a favourable outlook on the place. The staff were very friendly and everything came as ordered and priced... despite us being English :-) Highly recommended.More

No one came to greet us when we entered the restaurant. We went over to the bar to ask the waiter if we could just go and sit by a table, but the waiter didn't speak English, and just pointed somewhere. When we sat down,...no one came to welcome us or hand us the menus. The waiters never came over, so after 15 minutes (with no interaction from any of the waiters) we decided to leave.More

I wanted to order a beer. Outside there is written that their speciality is a green beer. When I said 'green' he looked at me like I was an alien. After some hand gesticulation, I ordered a beer. But, there was another difficulty. I wanted...to pay by card. I saw a fright in his eyes. Okay, I started paying. I paid and went away. Later the waiter came back and told me that the transaction was cancelled. So I trusted him and paid again. He had some problem with terminal, but I saw there was written that the transaction was accepted, I told him about it and went away. Later I checked my account and it tourned out the transaction was twice accepted, but he missed it. So I paid twice. I tried to explain what had just happened, but he couldn't understand in english, even the other guest started explaining it with me. He was repeating all the time that for 100% it was cancelled. Even with the phisical proof on my account. After a while I have finally my money back. Maybe the beer was okay, but I there is a big hole in stuffs' training.More

Food must be really awfull, because non-speaking english waitress said that I should go to McDonalds. I’m from Poland, so I understood what she said in Czech. When I was paying for the beer, which I have ordered ealier I said to the other stuff...member (only he speaks english) about that situation and they started laughing, when I turned around. I never have situation like this anywhere in all Europe.More

We came there to try some autenthic food. While the food was ok, the service was really bad. We had to wait for our food for over 45 minutes. They forgot our soup, we had to wait another 10 minutes for the check. The lady...waitress was running around servicing other guests, while the male waiter was nowhere to be found most of the time (he was servicing us). At the same time the restaurant wasnt crowded, so I dont understand why we had to wait for so long. The guests that came after us, received their food before we received ours. Also, the personnel wasnt friendly, yet, they werent rude. It just seemed like we are in the way and not welcome.More

The food was decent here and the staff very friendly, but drinks prices were high. They even charged for tap water. The receipts suggests how much you should tip, which I found rather rude. Will always be popular due to its location.
