Great spot for traditional Czech food, close to the Astro clock and just off the Old Town Square. The three of us had goulash, duck, and pork fillet, and all was very tasty and excellent portions. Had apple strudel for dessert, and it surpassed several...had previously last week in Germany. Staff was responsive, courteous, and spoke some English. Definitely will visit again!More
Very tasty goulash inside the bread. Also beef tartar was excellent with Krusovice beer. Staff was friendly and smiling, which seems not to be obvious in restaurants of Prague. Interesting medieval interior decoration. Restaurant is located in narrow alley very close to old town square.
Stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, ended up eating there 3 times in a week. Genuine and hearty traditional food, nice atmosphere, very friendly, not too much waiting time and most of all good prices. Would definitely visit again! Thanks again for your excellent service!
I went there with my family after reading the promising reviews and honestly, it was worth it! The personnel was so welcoming and nice, they were also very observant and spoke good English. We ordered dark Krusovice beer which was not watered down and therefore...very well appreciated by us. We also ordered the goulash soup in a bread loaf, pork ribs and roasted duck with bread dumplings. The portions of the dishes were just perfect for the price and very delicious. We were delighted by the atmosphere and the whole experience all together. Additionally, the WC was also clean and obviously disinfected. I definitely recommend this restaurant for the full Prague experience!More
EXcellent spot for a pint and some really good food. The stake was cooked perfectly the way i asked. The guy working there and taking the order is extremely nice and his English is very good. Would definitely recommend this place for food. Its just...down from the square and dosent get packed.More

Really liked this place. After being stung the night before at a tourist trap this was a great place to find. Really good food, good service and felt like a typical authentic Czech restaurant. Good value too.

Excellent choice if you want to taste local cuisine. The only black spot is that you may need to wait a little. For a normal service it may take about 45 minutes. But you are on vacation and waiting a bit may increase your appetite!...Noteworthy the good prices.More
I was waiting my order for 50 minutes and after asking the waiter about it he told that I didn’t make order and he didn’t know about that, but it was exactly that waiter who took my order
We were wandering around back streets before going to see the clock in the Old Square. We looked at lunch prices at the cafes right on the square as we wandered. We came across this restaurant. We were well received and a sort-of-English speaking woman...came to us. She understoof my husnands allergie issue and we had a very nice meal It cost, with a beer for him and a Coke for me, about half what it would have cost on the square. And there were all kinds of neat old gadgets (for want of a better word) around including a really cool clock on one wall.More
We went here two times: once for lunch & once for dinner. It’s very delicious & cheap!! It’s only €1,90 for a half liter of beer. The first time we ate a schnitzel and a pasta with tomatoes. The other time we ate the porked...ribs and the salmon with potato fries & vegetables. The salmon was really delicious and highly recommended! The staff is also very kind.More
This is so far is the best place for a lunch in Prague. Even though placed off the main tourist flow in an old city, it is on the oldest street of Prague. And the kitchen is just the best we've met for a lunch....The magic interior is hypnotizing.More
Solid basic food, meat and potatoes and some beer. Nothing too fancy but not bad either. Nice interior and friensly staff.
As the title says, great beer, inexpensive prices and attentive service by the staff! Just off the tourist path is a no nonsense restaurant and bar. Would definitely go back. The Bowla Bar across the street deserves an honourable mention , but isn’t on Trip...Advisor to rate. Amazing B-52’s !!!More
