Booked this restaurant a months in advance for Valentines day, my girlfriend is a massive lover of steak and I came across this restaurant through a number of forums. We were ordered the prawns for starters and shared it between us as sometimes we are terrible eaters who don't eat all our food, but boy did we regret getting x2 of the prawn starters. Absolutely incredible, packed with loads of flavour, it had my girlfriend dipping her fork in and licking the sauce, we were given the prawns with bread, slightly hard and not enough. For mains, I had the octopus and the girlfriend had the flank steak, both of which did not disappoint. We really took our time eating our mains as they were so good and we wanted to savour each bite! My girlfriend is very picky with her steak, but she felt this was one of the best she had ever had. We had a couple drinks with our meals that weren't on the menu, which the staff were happy to make, my girlfriend had a simple vodka and lemonade and I had a amaretto sour. Though a simple cocktail, sometimes it isn't done right, but the bartender got it spot on. The waiter who served us was a very friendly gentleman, who advised how rare to have the steak and advised me on the octopus, which was beautiful! Would definitely recommend this place, it is sort of in two parts, the front half of the restaurant seems more relaxed, while the back is more formal. So if possible and you are on a romantic date, request a table at the back!

Two of us dined here last Fri night during a romantic getaway in Prague. Excellent decision on our part 😂 Friendly staff welcomed us in, the tables are well spaced out even in such a reasonable space, which means nobody else is really sitting on your shoulder so intimate conversation is facilitated. Staff so attentive during our courses, constantly coming back to refill our wine if required and also offered to slice our Chateaubriand or we could if we chose - so as not to embarrass myself I let the experts do it! The Chateaubriand was cooked medium to perfection, one of the best we’ve had and we do like to eat this a lot on special occasions. Generous wine list too and we had a few bottles. Whole restaurant so clean too and reasonably priced for a romantic evening, so can’t recommend it highly enough.

Couples birthday close to Christmas. Argentinian steaks a good idea. Nicely designed, warm & conceptualised hard surfaces interior that includes images of flatulent cattle. Why not. Very attentive staff though some without Czech or English and clearly not even in Spanish, were sure what they served.....a bit odd. Starters all winners with delightful tastes. Steaks perfectly cooked & seasoned. Sadly my steak was a duffer. 15% grizzle. It happens. Others all delighted. Molleja - see photo of this mashed potato / offal hot pot of a thing. Tastier than it looks apparently, however, the guest who had it, did say she would go for a steak next time.... Good reasonably priced steaks & starters in a nice interior.

The food was great, but after 15 minutes I was starving. Furthermore the prices are really high despite the fact that the amount of the food was highly unacceptable. (I ordered a Gran Fierro Burger = small meet, 12 strings of small potato) The toilet was like a public toilet, but I need to mention that they had fancy tap, door, doorknob wc. Apart from this the service was good (for that much money I expect it). 740Kc + tip and we were hungry after 15 minutes, my gf is veggie said that there were 2 dishes + tapas s**t that was vegeterian(the whole lunch was like an appetizer). But I need to say something positive: Service good Mood good Food is fancy Not recommended for gluttonous, vegeterians and penny-pinching people.

My husband and our two best friends visited Prague this month from the UK, and came to Gran Fierro on a recommendation. We were served by Sarkis who was absolutely spectacular! I cannot praise him enough. He was professional and highly attentive. The food was the best we had in Prague and even the house wine was fantastic. We viewed Gran Fierro as a high end restaurant and despite our party being dressed in athletic clothing, after a day of sight seeing, we were still made to feel welcome which we really appreciated. Although we did feel quite underdressed. We were the first guests having just opened but the tables soon filled up and the atmosphere was great. The venue itself it's beautiful with artwork dotted about. All the food I ate was delicious so I can definitely recommend the empanadas and the tenderloin steak.. the cocktails were also superb! I would 100% recommend Gran Fierro to anybody visiting Prague.

We just had the most fabulous meal at Gran Fierro. As a party of four, two adults and two children, we were accommodated without a reservation at a table just in front of the kitchen, where we could see calm chefs delivering plate after plate of delicious food, from the mouth-watering empanadas to the perfectly sizzling prawns to the amazing medium rare tenderloin (Lomo) which just melted in the mouth. A monkfish dish with prawns and peppers, and a beautiful vegetarian plate with Burrata and delicately cooked courgette and spring onion completed our main courses. This was a faultless dinner which delivered on both taste and service. The staff were attentive and accommodating and we would highly recommend Gran Fierro for a dinner you won’t forget in Prague!!

I dislike leaving bad reviews but we visited this restaurant as a family as it was local to our hotel. After a good start (nice decor and starters) the main meal and service were below the expectations of a restaurant at the rates being charged. There are other, better, restaurants in the area (including El Gaucho which we also visited) which really are a league above and are similarly priced.

We had a lovely meal here at the recommendation of a friend who had previously been. The food was delicious, especially the starters. The mains, we both had steak which we expected a little more from - it was only really steak and potatoes, no option to add any sides or anything. However we were more than happy with the quality of the food, the service was friendly and the price wasn't too unreasonable. The cocktails are delicious and definitely worth a try! Would recommend to anyone looking for a mid range fancy evening out.

Thaïs d’as my second visit and must say was even better than previous experience Great premises ,Cody, clean soft lights and the right atmosphere The lady in charge of our table very professional and knowledgeable Great selection of Malbec wines ,one of my favorites The food outstanding if you like meat We got a nice and tasty chorizo sausage quails eggs as a starter. Followed by a very juicy and tender rib eye cooked to perfection accompanied by home made fries ,this for me is very important as not many restaurants are making fries home made. Golden and crispy The fig cheesecake was heaven Good venue for money considering the cost of dry aged first class meat. 3200 kc for two persons including the wine and sparkling water We will be back again soon

We had a dinner for a group of friends and it really was a nice experience. From the welcome when we arrived to the moment we walked out the door on our way out in to the late summer night. The hostess quickly got us seated at a lovely table facing the patio which was perfect since it was not too hot but also not too loud which made our conversations easy. However we were a bit loud so apologies to any one sitting to close to us. The drinks were interesting and somewhat innovative from their cocktail menu and we did explore that quite extensively =) Most of us went with the meat and none of us was disappointed. The steaks were perfectly done and our waitress was lovely. She kept the wine flowing in our glasses and helped us out when we wanted to order more food. She kept a professional distance but was always near by. Just the kind of service I like where they don't hoover but won't disappear completley. Dessert was simple but amazing and the chef working the cold dishes and desserts was as sweet as her work. We could not have been happier and the members of the group all pointed out that that was one of the highlights of our trip to Prague. It is a bit more expensive than a regular restaurant in Prague, but it is so much better and worth every Koruna spent! Warmest recommendations!

Decent steak. Well, the flavour from the grill and seasoning was pretty good, the meat wasn't the best tasting, doubt it was grass fed beef. I wanted a larger steak than the 250g tenderloin. I'm used to eating a 650g one. Best they could muster was a 500g Chateaubriand, I know I'm fussy. I asked for it medium but it was pretty rare. My wife got the 250g tenderloin. It too was undercooked. Was medium-rare. The potatoes were a decent compliment. I'm not overweight but I actually had to have another meal when I left this place.

Thank you to the team at the Gran Fierro! They made our 10 year anniversary dinner special. Everyone was very friendly and genuinely engaged in every conversation. Kitchen staff even congratulated us from the open kitchen which was totally unexpected and shows how much effort they put into the customers experience. The food alone was a 10/10 and we can highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Special thanks to Ella and Christian, who both gave us a genuine and excellent experience.

We celebrated a friends birthday , visiting from the U.K and the restaurant made a cute desert platter with sparklers, really lovely gesture 😊 We ordered the beef burgers, risottos and a few entrees. Andre was our waiter and very attentive, looked after us very well. The cocktails were okay too , would definitely recommend.

We book 17 people and we are assigned a nice table in a room dedicated to us. This was much appreciated by us and we almost all order two courses. Good dishes especially the meat The bad surprise is that at 11pm when we hadn't eaten the dessert yet we were told that the kitchen had closed and we couldn't have them. Are we kidding? In Italy, if something like this happens, the owner must be struck off. We had already been asking for 15 minutes to be able to order them and they did everything to find an excuse and tell us that bullshit. In the evaluation these aspects are almost more important to me than the food. 60 euros each I would say is a little too much for something eaten without dessert. Sin

We entered the shop with a somewhat larger group. Since we had made a reservation, we were taken to our table straight away. As luck would have it, our waitress also spoke German. Very nice and quick to the point. We were given good advice, the selection was good, the wines were delicious and everyone left the restaurant satisfied with a grin. You should expect to pay around €50 - €80 per person, depending on what you order. I immediately reordered the white wine I drank there ;)

Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city.
