Bartender came right over and laughing said ...no speak English. Guess we were obvious but we told him we would use Google translate. The French fries were omg delicious with the bacon and cheese that came with 2 homemade dressings..1was a ketchup that was the...best I've ever had as a starter. We also had the potato pancakes with Cole slaw. Nice light vinegarette with some spicy sliced peppers. The fried pork and chicken fillets were coked just done tender and lightly breaded but the star was the potato salad with pickles and whole grain mustard seeds and thin sliced red onions. Chef has a wonderful sense for light flavors. Recommend take Google translate. Friendly neighborhood place had locals wit their dogs with them and a nice hot stove in he dining area. Ate more fries than I should. Prices economical.More

I had a pork knockle and my girlfriend had a steak. The knockle was frozen in the middle and not cooked from the outside, the steak supposed to be medium, it was burnt on the outside and raw in the middle..so tough I couldn't cut...it at all. Once the waitress saw the steak issues she went after the cook..and the cook started to yell from the kitchen that women should not order food for men..although I couldn't eat the steak as well. wasted 25euros. The waitress was nice thoughMore

Local restaurant with solid cosine, good fro both lunch and dinner. It is non smoking restaurant now and draft beer is from Bernard and one tap from Kacov ( I guess keeping tradition )

Recently reopened, they serve Bernard beers. It seems you can have Kacov every now and then, but we weren't so lucky. It's nice place, feels like it's popular with locals. There a prison accross the street, it adds something to the feeling :-) We didn't...try the food.More

We understand this place has only recently re-opened with a whole new look, feel and menu. We were here in 2014 and we loved it then. The ribs were among the best we have ever eaten and we eat a lot of ribs in Kansas...City! On this visit, we were not so impressed. There are no ribs on the menu and that's not the only change. I'm guessing they are going for a "gastro-pub" thing but it left us pining for the good old days. We stayed for s couple of beers and saw quite a few locals come and go. Some young, some old and even a toddler and a tiny one in a stroller. It has a very friendly, local feel but just isn't our style.More

Prague's reputation for great beers is sliding steadily. The once great Plzeňský Prazdroj (Pilsener Urquell) is everywhere but this beer, now produced by a South African/American multinational to lower standards is, like other big names like Staropramen or Velkopovicky, no longer worth the bother The...Hubertus brewery at Kačov however still brews beers fit to bear the name "Czech" and U Klokočnika is the place to find it in Prague. Out of the centre of town but easily reached by the #18 tram to Na Veseli it's a basic Czech tavern doing decent Czech food and excellent beer at prices well below those charge in the city centreMore
