In the very centre of Prague you can still feel far (not too far though) from it all and enjoy a coffee or tea with the gurgling of a little fountain in the background. I'd say go there only in good weather as the interfior is really nothing special, but on a very warm day you will appreciate the shade and the peace and quiet.

International Humans Rights Day. Wonderful well organised film and Q&A discussion/evening with snacks and excellent wine. Didn't notice the staff ss they were so good.

Excellent little coffee shop hidden away behind the Lucerna music building. I was actually walking through the random park behind this small cafe and saw it. You do have to walk around to vodickova and through photoskoda to get in, but after finally getting inside it's a great find.
There are only a few table a in the front room with the counter (and the views) then a whole back room area for larger groups. Staff is friendly, service is prompt and they use mama coffee roast here. They also have some snacks on offer to munch on and maybe a homemade cake or two.
There's free wifi here and it's really quiet. Great for writers or people looking for a quiet place to work on a laptop with a coffee. Plus it's easy to sit here for hours in this place with it's view of the garden and quiet atmosphere. Will be back!

Langhans cafe replaced Langhans Photo Gallery in former site of photographer Langhans, in Czech Republic famous as Edward Weston in USA. Despite the fact this place (including first floor) used to be formerly a picture gallery the interior seems to be cold and uninteresting. However, the coffee is good and those two girls who operate this place are cheerful, pretty and swift. Only in those two rooms where I hoped to enjoy my coffee have the atmosphere of a hospital ward.

Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
