Ate here last night. Chips with garlic mayonnaise starter. Beef stew and dumplings and chicken with mushroom sauce and chips. Bottle of rose wine. Food was good, wine very good and good service also. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely go back here.

The cafe was a welcome break from the hubbub of the castle. The cafe is a nice place to be, with good views of Petrin Hill. The food was hearty when it arrived, but took quite a while to appear which wasn't great when we only had one day to see the entire castle.

Had the chicken Gnocci and the ceaser salad. Both were really really good and the taste was great. This is a nice little restaurant that isn't too busy and price is reasonable.

Set in a large period property with arched ceilings and lovely stone floor entry way this establishment suggests that it can deliver a good dining experience. However, once inside you see that the owner has failed to make the most of this marvelous buildings interior, the best feature being an oversized mirror but little else. When the ambience is just as important as the food this didn't bode well. Music better suited to bars in Ibiza was too loudly played and young staff were noisily talking in the rear room throughout. The menu of local cuisine offers no surprises and lacks any imagination. Potato soup in bread was tasty and filling but had more mushroom than potato in it and it was way too salty. The chicken in creamed mushroom sauce with chips was also disappointing, considering it is a straight forward dish. The cream sauce was non existent, the chicken dry and the chips were French fries. Prices were 38kc for a sparkling water, 95kc for potato soup and 229kc for the chicken. This establishment will not survive without making some changes, it has potential. The final insult, after the worst meal we had in Prague, was that the 15% service charge was included in the bill and not optional.

The main advantage is the place as the Café is situated on the way to Prague castle. Sitting outside you will enjoy a nice view. We were sitting inside and the interior is really nothing special. Definitely not a café atmosphere, but rather an ordinary pub where you can get some Czech food. As local, I consider this place as a tourist trap with high prices and low value. I will not come again.

After spending the day walking from the old town to the castle and around we were absolutely starving so pleased to see that a highly reviewed restaurant wasn’t far away. When we got there I was unsure if it was open as it was completely empty but 5 seconds later a waiter appeared and seated us. I ordered the mushroom gnocchi and my boyfriend ordered the pork knuckle, something he had been keen on trying since we arrived in Prague. My gnocchi was fine but unfortunately the pork knuckle was completely raw inside - the waiter took it back and had it re-cooked for us but this obviously took a bit of time. He was very apologetic and we weren’t charged for it, and were given a free drink each. It could be possible that as it was early afternoon the knuckle wasn’t ready yet however if that was the case then it would have been better to know and my boyfriend would have chosen something different. Waiter was very friendly and attentive, my meal was good and the drinks were also good. Simply let down by the pork.

This restaurant is definitely good. What you see is what you get and what’s on the menu is also exactly what you get. Nothing too wild, the options are limited. Very friendly!

If you just want good food and drinks, this is the place to go. Very close to the main sights, but quiet and just a wonderful place. Friendly staff, which is always a bonus.

We found the place with TripAdvisor, while we are looking where to eat around the castle. The place is very quiet and nice. The stuff was really friendly. We didn’t wait long for the food and it was delicious. We ordered something typical for the country and I was amazed by the soup – it was served in some kind of bread…really cool. If you are looking for some place around the castle, but not too crowdie, with a good food (Czech kitchen), affordable price and really nice stuff, this is the one!

We were lucky enough to 'stumble upon' this gem of a place. Small, simple with a welcoming waiter and reasonable prices. We enjoyed the homemade cheese and took the waiter's recommendation and tried the beef in gravy that was delicious. He was so attentive and friendly. Jazz in the background made it a lovely dining experience.

Hello everyone and to all staff @ Trip. I visited Prague for a day to meet a dear friend, on July 11. It is situated on a way street called Uvoz, the the suburb of Pohorelec. There's a tram stop there ( No.22 & 23) and a short 10 min walk downhill. I went for lunch at this joint on a quiet Tuesday afternoon. There were only 3 patrons in there. It is a large restaurant and bar.....space wise. And a person named John was manning the place , I entered. There were a lot of traditional items on display walls .....photos, relics, paintings and all this had a proper Czech culture in it. I had a couple of vodka's and went straight for the food. I was famished and requested roasted pork with sauerkraut + dumplings. It was delicious and I was raging hungry. It was low on spice which was ok'd with a drizzle of ground pepper. The restaurant was quiet and I had all the time to eat and enjoy. The food bill came to around 500 CZK , which for the service and the food itself , is comparable to UK rates. And John arranged a taxi for me to get to a metro station for my way to the airport. The food I had was good and freshly cooked. The service was also good, maybe I was the only one for lunch. The drinks were served the way I like it. The toilets were clean and no complaints on that. And Thanks to John. A good man. If I am in this area, I will return to eat or drink or both. Pics attached.

Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
