This place was recommended by a fellow foodie friend so I had high expectations and Francouzska did not disappoint. We had the prix fixe business lunch which came with roasted chestnut soup, chorizo crusted chicken in a corn puree and a fig cake with sour cream ice cream. All were delicious and beautifully presented. The homemade breads were also a... More

One of the best Art Nouveau dining experiences you will have anywhere in the world. Just check out the decor! It is amazing!! The meal and wines were top class and waiters and waitresses attentive and pleasant. Everything was great until the last final sting. The initial "champagne" offer (which is of doubtful quality) is extremely over priced. And the... More

Stunning location, full of history, and excellent service. We had fish and deer and both were excellent, in French style cuisine. We loved the local wine recommended by our waiter. Prices are very high and most guests were in gala wear: women in floor length, evening dresses and men in tuxedos. Live piano starts playing at 7pm. However maybe a... More

More

It was not our first time in this restaurant - first time we came for Christmas menu 4 years ago and I got food poisining. Unfortunately this time it was again a huge deception. We ordered starter (fois gras) and main course (steak with pure and vegetables). The starter was kind of ok (yet fois gras had a greasy "croute"... More

Honestly one of the best restaurants in Prague. Food is great, selection of wines also, but what is really unbeatable is the place. It is more than a restaurant. It is like what is a cathedral to a church. Unbelievably beautiful. If you like art nouveau, if you like style, if you like quality...this is a place for you.

We went to this restaurant for the ambiance, and we really enjoyed the experience, that is until we got the check. The waiters pretended they did not speak English. Stopped here because it is quite central and has a nice terrace. Had two cappuccinos and a water. The cappuccinos were good. It was quite expensive but the location was worth it.

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
