This restaurant served excellent traditional & local food & the staff were helpful & friendly. It was good value too & it was very popular, so always very busy. Would definitely recommend a visit here.

The food was ok nothing more. The service could have been better. Hadn't finished my soup when the main course arrived. It was very noisy but the prices were cheap.

We ate dinner here tonight. The place was full of guests, there were hardly any free tables but luckily one of the waiters helped us to find one more table. Our waiter was a smiley and friendly person, we were satisfied with his service. We drank here beer (I am not a beer fan at all however I managed to... More

Went on a Saturday evening, had to wait for a table as very busy, which we took as a good sign. When we were seated we were ignored for quite some time. The 4 tables that were seated after us were all served before us, and in the end we had to ask if we could order drinks etc. I... More

My wife and I were with a tour group whose guide recommended the Kolkovna restaurants as good Czech food. On a cold, dreary day, we walked towards Prague's square, stopping for lunch at Kolkovna Celnice. We noticed immediately that few tourists were in the crowd. We were greeted by a host with good, transactional English, who led us to a... More

We had a good experience, so we went there once more. The second time the rude waiter refused to give us tap water, claiming they serve it only with wine.. (and claimed we did get it the first visit by mistake) Then they literary forced us to leave a tip. It is a popular place, and it seems they dont... More

We were a group of 15+ dinning at this restaurant on Friday night. Upstair tables were all occupied even before we arrive, so we booked a huge table at the lower floor. The service is not that great and the food isn't anything different from normal mid-range restaurant. In fact you get better quality food at a mid-range restaurant because... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
