This is an EXCELLENT Mexican restaurant in Prague. They don't speak Spanish but they DO cook very good, authentic Mexican food. Excellent staff. Good prices.

For some reason, I was not expecting the Cantina to be that good. My meal was at least as good as anything I ever got in a German Mexican restaurant. My burrito came in a generous portion and the quesadilla we got as appetizer was also pretty tasty. Surely it is not very authentic as pretty much all mexican restaurants... More

We visited Cantina on our first night in Prague and we felt that it was a perfect way to start our holiday. The music, the deco and the lighting create a wonderful ambience which is beatifully matched by the great service. The flavours are close to authentic Mex and the food is very well prepared and presented. The portions are... More

My husband and I were visiting Prague from the US and ran into the Cantina looking for dinner. We are Mexican and were a little skeptical on having Mexican food in the Czech Republic. We decided to go for it and we are sooooooo glad we did. My husband ordered the ranchero burrito and I ordered the chicken and spinach... More

This restaurant is amazing! It is listed as a mexican restaurant, but it is not the authentic kind. It is more of a tex-mex. This is not a minus though! Because the food is always amazingly prepared and they always use fresh ingredients! The selection on the menu is big and there is something for both meat lovers and vegetarians.... More

We had the gazpacho (good), the chicken fajitas salad (ok), the nachos and guacamole (good) and the veg enchiladas (ok). Pet friendly.

Ate here early evening and managed to get a table for four straight away. We ordered nachos to share and we all had enchiladas. The food was very nice and the enchiladas were very filling. Tasty, reasonably priced food and good choice of drinks. Would recommend.

Going here for a chill evening is great, especially if you just want to drink. The cocktails are fabulous, and well priced. The food is okay. Nothing fancy, and lacking a certain amount of seasoning. But good price and great drinks and a nice atmosphere.

We walked past this place and stopped for a tequila. They have a goos selection that is fairly priced. decided to eat on the patio because weather was nice and it was too warm inside. The Azteca soup was very good but the main dished were average Tex-Mex at best and not even close to what authentic Mexican food should... More

In our opinion, comparing it to other Mexican restaurants we've been to, this was mediocre. There were only 3 vegetarian options on the menu so not a lot of choice if this is what you're after. The nachos were nice but it seemed strange to have to pick between either cheese or salsa to have with them. However if you're... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
