We went to this restaurant on recommendation of friends and trip advisor, but we were disappointed. You will need to book a table as the restaurant is quite small, and there is little space to wait. We found it too crowded and very hot. The food was ok but nothing to shout about and not particularly warm - maybe we... More

Second time in Prague this year and second visit to the best Mexican in the city. Had a Habernero Diablo Quesidilia and it red hot yet so tasty and fresh. Lovely atmosphere too and very reasonable priced. Remember to book in advance though as it's very popular.

Our family met some friends here for an early dinner- 17:00- on a Wednesday. Even though the place was nearly empty, we were told we could only have our table for an hour & a half! We felt pressured to eat as quickly as possible even before having placed an order. I will say this- this place knows how to... More

Our hotel was just a few hundred yards away from Catina and we had walked past a few times and decided we would try it one day for food. After a hearty stroll around the Petrin Tower we made our way down through the park to this restaurant. There was a little wait for a table inside, but seeing other... More

Been to this place with friends for Mexican delight!! The food is really good but only the waiting staff seems to be rude with English speaking guests!! Otherwise the place is really good!!

I took my family here after reading the glowing reviews and having longed for some good Mexican like we had in the USA. Unfortunately our experience was far below our expectations. Nachos with queso - what was delivered were nachos with melted cheddar cheese on top and way too much. Salsa was ok. Chicken fajitas- very bland, no heat, pass...... More

This is an EXCELLENT Mexican restaurant in Prague. They don't speak Spanish but they DO cook very good, authentic Mexican food. Excellent staff. Good prices.

For some reason, I was not expecting the Cantina to be that good. My meal was at least as good as anything I ever got in a German Mexican restaurant. My burrito came in a generous portion and the quesadilla we got as appetizer was also pretty tasty. Surely it is not very authentic as pretty much all mexican restaurants... More

We visited Cantina on our first night in Prague and we felt that it was a perfect way to start our holiday. The music, the deco and the lighting create a wonderful ambience which is beatifully matched by the great service. The flavours are close to authentic Mex and the food is very well prepared and presented. The portions are... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
