This restaurant is quite popular with locals, and tourists are discovering that the prices here are quite reasonable for the decent food. We have been here several times with our Czech families . My husband likes this type of food, sometimes heavily sauced, more than...I do. He is also a big fan of game, deer meat, wild boar etc. I prefer beef . We were staying in Mandarin Oriental hotel, just steps away. The Maltezske namesti is still, surprisingly, a quiet area. It is only around the corner by the Charles bridge, where the tourist madness starts. We sat outside and enjoyed beer and snacks on one warm, sunny afternoon. Note: right next door Konirna is U Maliru - the oldest restaurant in Prague. But that's another storyMore

Ordered overnight cooked pork belly that sounded delicious. Unfortunately they were almost out of it and didn't have enough for one serving. BUT they didn't tell me this until they brought us our food(!) They could have said it as soon as they realized they...didn't have enough. What happened was that they asked me, at the same time everybody else our party got their meals, if I "Was ok if I got some pieces of tenderloin instead?" I almost felt compelled to accept, because I wanted us all to enjoy our meal together. And hey, isn't tenderloin one of the best pieces, right? So I accepted. But the thing was that the tenderloin pieces I got tasted really bad! I didn't dare to finish. And they didn't care when I complained about it later. And apart from this, they were a bit arrogant even from start so I guess they don't care about their guest. At least not the tourists.More

My husband and I went to Konirna on Christmas Eve, having just arrived in Prague. They were fully booked and we hadn't made a reservation; but the front of house were very welcoming and fitted us in for a main course between bookings. The food...was very good - I had duck leg and hubby had wild boar. Both were very tender and tasty, perfectly cooked. Excellent Czech wine as well. A good range of dishes and drinks on the menu - I would have tried a dessert if we'd had time. Being slightly away from the main tourist streets in Malá Strana, it was also reasonably priced. A good option in the area.More

Two years ago I have visited Konirna with friends and was very satisfied with the quality of the food and service. This time the service was still very good but the food was a big dissapointment. The gulas meat was very hard, sauce too salty...and knedliky too compact.More

Really enjoyed this 'off the rat race' restaurant, Great Czek food and knowledgeable waiters. The Quark dumplings dessert were seriously different!

Nice place to have lunch. We had the fries and fried cheese sticks (mini kaassoufle's). Though the food wasn't the best we had, it was the first place with friendly service (smiling) and the terrace was nice for having a quick bite.

The Prague ham slices, lightly boiled egg, creamy horseradish with apples, parsley pesto starter is delicious! So is the Svíčková. We were in a room with a lot of other people, and it was extremely hard to hear each other.

Great boar dish my partner had the mega skewer shared with a member of the family. Not a scrap of food left. Not the cheapest of restaurants but with the quality and kind of meat they serve you probably wouldn't get anywhere else. I couldn't...eat here every day with the cost of the food but while in Prague worth a visit. Also didn't like the add on tip after spending so much.More

We were told about this restaurant by our hotel staff. The menu consisted of meals from this area. The chicken was cooked in a wine sauce that had dried tomato included. The steak was very flavorful. The potatoes has broccoli mixed in and was very...good. Staff was nice and the restaurant was not overly busy. We ate outside and we surrounded by smokers. This is hard to get used to. Prices were average for this areaMore
