Restaurant is in an old house spaced over multiple levels with different rooms, giving a feeling of a smaller restaurant with a relaxed, cozy ambiance. Professional, charming English speaking staff. A piano player added to the great atmosphere. The three of us ordered a la carte, but tasting menus are available. Enjoyed the Czech red wines that our server recommended.... More

Good choose for who is searching for some local food. Service is great. The local is comfortable and very clean, but too old! Price is good. Recommend!

We found this restaurant by chance during a walk around the back streets of the old town, a very cosy feel about it and the food was top quality, typically Czech cuisine with a good wine list, highly recommend a visit if your in this area.

What a hidden treat! This eclectic and charming restaurant (I think translated as the blue duckling) was recommended by our hotel as a quiet, lovely place where locals go. We had one of the most delightful evenings I can remember! It is tucked away in a courtyard off the old square. The interior has a quirky vintage design and is... More

Dinner for two, Wednesday 8 March 2017 'U Modré kachničky' translates from the Czech as 'The Little Blue Duck (or Duckling)'. The restaurant where we dined, on the recommendation of good friends, was at Michalská 16, 110 00 Prague 1, Old Town. You will find a link on the website to the other, 'first', restaurant, also in Prague. This was our... More

Restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel. This is a cosy restaurant complete with live piano music which adds to the setting. Waitstaff were extremely friendly, helpful and certainly knew the wine list. The food was a good representation of Czech food. We had the goulash and duck. It certainly doesn't feel "touristy". Very romantic. Definitely recommend

We came for an early dinner. Although we had a reservation and the restaurant was still empty, we were refused the table we asked for, and placed at the one table in the restaurant that had no candle on it (it was International Women's Day, which in many places is a festive occasion). The waiter spoke English and Russian, in... More

The restaurant was recommended by our hotel and we're so glad we ate there. It's a beautiful restaurant, with a relaxed romantic feel. The service is great and the food is amazing. We had 'the old bohemian baking pan for two' which was huge! It had veal, duck, rabbit and pork, 2 types of cabbage, 4 different dumplings and gravy.... More

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
