Nice atmosphere. Moderate pricing. Romantic. Old-school. Also have nice deer. Feels old inside design wise. Service was moderate. Is considered a well known historic Resturant. We were recommended by our hotel.

A charming restaurant with nostalgic decor. Their specialty is anything duck but the wild boar is delicious as well. It will please most patrons who wish to eat local dishes in a quaint and an endearing setting. What's unfortunate is that good restaurants like this which offer delectable local food with an old Prague dinning experience invariably become popular and... More

I suppose it wasn't advertised as such, but the decor and flavour was not exactly contemporary. If they weren't so completely pretentious I would've half expected to hear kitchen help plucking freshly hunted game in the back of what looked like a tired country cottage. Having said that, they were immaculately proper and had good, though positively cold, service. Their... More

We visited this restaurant on the recommendation of our Hotel concierge, and found a very interesting venue and had an enjoyable experience. From the outside the "Blue Ducking" restaurant looks like a normal home but inside we were amazed by the extensive candle lit dining nooks and tables, and lush and antique furnishings. The restaurant has an interesting history in... More

This restaurant (The blue duck) was recommended by our hotel. It is off the beaten path and would have been difficult to find without their directions, but well worth it. The food was excellent and the service both friendly and attentive. The restaurant is small and not very lively - perfect for a romantic evening, but not ideal for those... More

Okay food, but nothing special.the interior decor was somewhat tired. Beware of the noise in the front room if the live piano is in service. If you don't like duck, the menu is extremely limited. I had the wild boar, a braised pot roast type dish. It was very good. My companions had duck dishes and didn't rave. The waiter... More

This is a small restaurant in a good neighborhood. The front room was filled, but with our reservation we got a cozy seat in a back room all by ourselves with a view of the ladies' room and the kitchen door. Still. . . it is charmingly furnished like an old grandmother's home, and I think would be very cozy... More

We treat ourselves to one luxury dinner every time we visit Prague and this place is it. The atmosphere, food and service, together with its location in lesser town combine to make this a most enjoyable evening. The live piano is also excellent.

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
