Dinner for 6 - we arrived early but this was no problem. Food and wine very good. Duck obviously a specialty. My only small gripe was that when I asked for water (rather than a cocktail), unlike in the other restaurants we visited, it was assumed that we would have bottled water rather than 'tap'. Other than that the ambience,... More

We asked around about a great place for traditional Bohemian fare, and The Little Blue Duck continued to be recommended so our hotel made the reservation for us, and we're so glad they did. The restaurant was alerted that it way my birthday so they greeted us with a glass of sparkling wine. The waitperson was knowledgeable, helped translate what... More

The restaurant had catered for my vegan diet, the food was delicious but as it was included in the tour, I am unable to advise the cost. However, I was told it is not one of the cheaper places to eat. The water, beer, wine and two coffees came to 312 Kc (was equivalent to €12 then). The decor is... More

We traveled to Prague in January with World Strides, and educational travel company, and had a pre-planned meal on the 17th. We walked upstairs, and my wife and I, along with our two travel companions, Jeff and Katrina, sat at a table next to the piano, which by the way, had someone playing throughout the entire evening...fabulous music. The lights... More

I had to go and eat here because of the online reviews, i ate duck three times while I was in the CR and this was by far the tastiest and tenderest duck that I ate, I ate solo and never felt rushed ( as some restaurants do). Service was attentive even though the restaurant was full, Rez is recommended,... More

I've eaten here several times over the years and have always enjoyed it. My wife and I ate here last week and I'm glad to report that the place is as good as ever. Their menu focuses on wild game. My wife and I split a duck appetizer sampler and a wild game platter for two. All of the food... More

Marie (our guide from PATHfinders on our first day in Prague) pointed this restaurant out and said it was very good. We found out that they are also very busy as they did not have room for us that night - so later in the week we asked our from desk at Hotel Julian and they also said excellent choice... More

Not the cheapest traditional Czech restaurant but surely the best and well worth it. The food is excellent and the traditional décor is great. If you visit Prague you must visit The Blue Duckling.

This is a charming restaurant with delicious traditional German food, specializing in Duck! The wines and all the courses, including dessert were delicious. It is right behind the Mandarin on the castle side of Prague, but definitely worth coming to no matter where you are staying! There are several rooms but we dined upstairs where most people were very well-dressed and... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
