My Czech friends gave me a voucher to visit Thsirestaurant for my birthday. Expectations were high as your restaurant has an excellent reputation. I chose my starter from your menu: Scallops cocktail with truffle brioche, basil espuma, black caviar, and strawberry gel with truffle oil395...CZK Because I didn't want a dessert, I chose an in-between meal: Beef broth with vegetable julienne and beef tail garnish175 Kč And my main course was: Tuna steak with roasted aubergine puree, broccoli roll, and saffron pearls 695 CZK The appetizer was ok; just the presentation took some getting used to. The brioche with truffle was like gum. The soup was not very tasty; my girlfriend ordered that too. We both had to use copious amounts of salt and pepper to taste them. There was very little of the beef tail in the soup Since we were both starving after a long day, we finished the soup. Then we had to wait more than 45 minutes for our main course. The only thing left edible on my plate was the tuna, which was well cooked but seasoned with a lot of salt. The rest was inedible!!!! It was a thick brown paste that tasted indistinguishable. It should probably be the Auberinge puree. There was no broccoli on the plate at all. Instead, a sort of bread dumpling. The half-round yellow balls were disgusting, and we tasted an ancient potato from the cellar. My girlfriend tried it too and spat it out very quickly. As I said, normally, this dish should have been sent back to the kitchen! I ate the fish, and my girlfriend only half her risotto. We were both more than disappointed. We were both more than disappointed. I told the first waiter that the food wasn't good quality, and he got the second chef, who promised us a bottle of champagne and then disappeared. We had paid with the voucher and were waiting to see if anyone else would come. After a while, I went to the counter and asked the second boss what would happen. But then you came, Jana, with the bottle of champagne, and I explained the whole situation to you again and how disappointed we were with the value for money in your restaurant. Their prices are high, and so were my expectations. Nobody should have to add flavor to a plain broth, and a chef should be able to do that! Before I write my review on TripAdvisor, I'd like to allow you to respond. They suggested a voucher. That would be a nice gesture, then I can invite my girlfriend over to you again, and she and her partner can test whether the chef had an utterly black day just on this Sunday. Kind regardsMore
BEWARE!!! Reservations in the reservation system are not real. They cancel them at a moment's notice if they earn more from a private booking. They do not care about your plans, your trips or the written confirmation you have for a reservation. They cancel at...will. The "Manager" Jana does not care. Someone woman named Barbora Pytlova also doesn't care when she writes you your cancelation email. Terrible customer service! BEWARE!!!More
Located on Jiraskovo Namesti is the Fred & Ginger House alternatively known as The Dancing House ,a wonderful looking building that's just a joy to view . The building looks superb ,it seems to flow very photogenic indeed ,it's a building that has become a...landmark,there's a bar on the roof that offers great views of the city and the beer prices here are ok ,if you're in the area of the New Town it's a building and bar I highly recommend you seek out ,it's easy to locate on Jiraskovo Namesti.More
It is a very small restaurant, with horrible acoustics: the ambient noise, if the restaurant is not almost empty, is so high, I couldn't hear what my wife was saying across the table. A constant flow of "music" does not help either --- one can...mostly hear the basses only, as if someone was constantly hammering. The view, the main attraction of the place, is only good if you get one of a couple of tables at the riverside windows. Even there, the windows are narrow, and the mirrors by the windows distort the view. The terrace may be a better choice, but it was closed when we were there. The food was very mediocre, and hugely overpriced for the quality. The service was mediocre as well, slow and inattentive. The waiters were very loudly rattling the silverware behind out backs, adding to the overall noise already mentioned. No more visits to that place from us.More
We only stop by for one drink, the prices are reasonable for what get. Very friendly staff. The restaurant has a beautiful view, you can sit outside as well, but I would recommend to make a reservation.
Hello, I've been living in Prague over 5 years, and I'll tell you what i have never eaten that good food anywhere in Prague, Ginger & Fred is an amazing restaurant and i congratulate whoever the chef is, he/she does an amazing job.
The food the staff the views everything - amazing!! Great price for the excellent food and service. The terrace views were amazing too!! We spent 2.5 hours here - space and time given to digest each course! Definitely be going back here!!
My wife booked this restaurant as a surprise at the end of our visit to Prague and what a great experience it was. The food was first class and the waiter we had was excellent. I can't fault it. Some of the poor reviews here...are quite old so I can only assume the management has changed or they have taken the reviewers criticism seriously. Well worth a visit, especially at night, to appreciate the views of the city.More
Myself and my husband went for a date night and we had the best night ever. The food was gorgeous and the service amazing. Especially the waiter Gabriel who is very kind and helpful I can't wait to go back to Prague
My sister and l had lunch in Ginger and Fred's restaurant yesterday wanting something special to mark an occasion. We were not disappointed! On our arrival we were warmly welcomed and since nobody else had arrived yet, we were shown to the table with the...best view. The waiters were extremely courteous, attentive and clearly well-trained. The food was delicious, interesting and beautifully presented. We would not hesitate to recommend this place. Thank you to all the staff for making it a memorable occasion.More
Very nice restaurant. However the service was so bad. No interest at all from the older waiters. There was a very young boy serving the dishes and had no idea what he was doing. If you visit a place like this you expect exceptional service....Very disappointed and won't be coming back.More
I visited this restaurant a while ago with my boyfriend, we celebrated my graduation, and I had a wonderful time. I was satisfied with everything. Even tho we had a reservation on a voucher, and there were some problems with it, everything was solved fast,...the service was very kind and helpful. The menu was selected so well to my tastes. Overall a very pleasant experience with a beautiful view in a calm and comfortable environment.More
They were very unfriendly from the very beginning. Seemed like they didn’t want us there. Wouldn’t recommend it, sometimes a smile makes the difference.
We went here for shrimp evening dinner. “All you can eat for 495 czk”. It was not what we expected... looks really nice in the menu and like you can choose what you want, but no. We got a plate with a mix of shrimps,...salad, and cold rice. And poorly plated. It tasted nothing and I would expect more from a place like this and certainly at this time. I do have to give them credit for taking one glass of wine of the bill when they could see we didn’t like the food. Great location and the staff seems nice but lot’s of improvement needs to be done food wise. Will try it again.More
