We can say we are regulars in Cafe Buddha for already 3 years, but for last 6 month we took a break and returned last week for a lovely dinner. Without hesitation we took the tasting menu which suited best to our various appetites. All dished were amazing combining freshness and spicyness. We also tried several coctails and were not disappointed. I recommed the place for the food, relaxing atmosphere and very fair prices.

We used to regular customers of Cafe buddha and ordered their food regularly. Our last delivery didn't look fresh and had a signs of mold, thus we called restaurant seeking for explanation. We send them pictures and up until now we haven't received any feedback as restaurant seems not to care about their customers. However, the worst happened once we called them for a second time. The person who picked up the phone claimed that no one in the restaurant speaks English, despite the fact that earlier someone does. Fine, we tried our Czech. Besides the fact that we couldn't receive any more information regarding our food or further help, the person started to behave aggressively, called my girlfriend "bitch" and "blyat" and in the end threat me that he'll find my home and "visit" me. Nice to hear from someone who I told delivery address..... Up until now restaurant didn't react about this accident and so far I have to say that it was the worst restaurant experience I have ever faced. P.S. Guy claim himself to be a "manager" but I doubt it, at least I hope its not true
Stay away!

On our previous visit to Café Buddha on Balbínova in Vinohrady, we felt like we'd been 'nickel-and-dimed' - I hadn't planned to return until they sent me a good two-for-one offer. Except that turned out to be a scam.
Café Buddha sent me an email describing how they were leaving the current location and moving to new premises. As a result they were running a special offer:
Sushi tasting menu EXTENDED
We have extended the offer of sushi tasting in Café Buddha for you. Do not hesitate and come to us for a sushi tasting for a discounted price of CZK 499 for two people!
Sushi tasting includes:
Ramen Osui Mono Miso Soup
Chuka Wakame Salad
Edamame
Sushi Set (32 pcs)
Pink Lady, Futo Maki, Smoky Salmon Sesame, Kappa Maki
When booking, fill in the note "I LOVE SUSHI".
It looked like a good offer, although I still remembered;
how 0.1l glasses of wine appear on the menu for 88 Kč, but you are offered a 0.2l glass when ordering - so 156 Kč,
how they offer a 0.3l bottle of Pilsner for an outrageous 78 Kč, and
how their curries show 'jasmine rice' but we were charged 39 Kč extra for rice.
But I pressed RESERVE anyway and added MILUJI SUSHI into the reservation form. Within a few hours our reservation was confirmed.
It was raining when we arrived at 7.30 pm yesterday, Monday 17th August. The waiter confirmed our reservation and we had a choice of tables. Luckily we hadn't ordered drinks when the waiter said:
"You booked the 'I love sushi' menu didn't you? Yeah that was a mistake and it's actually 499 Kč per person".
There was no sincere apology, no offer of a complimentary drink or discount to sweeten the message - basically a scam to get people in and hope they stay. If they knew this was a mistake then why not send another email to everyone - or at least to anyone who books the offer?
We immediately called the excellent Sumi Garden Japanese Restaurant, just two tram stops up the hill near Jiřího z Poděbrad - they had a table, so we walked out of Café Buddha and will never return. I'd advise everyone to avoid this place and don't be fooled by any special offers you receive.
Luckily we had umbrellas.

I go in for a business lunch and went to pay. They're like, screw you, cash only. Of course they have a big old cards accepted on the door. See photo. So I leave my client alone and wander around for 15 minutes looking for an ATM. Eventually I had to go into a goddamn strip club to find an ATM because these dorks don't want to pay a .8% transaction fee at lunch.

We were in prag for the first time and followed our guide's advice to visit the Buddha cafe.
We had the salmon tartar (was surprisingly spicy but really fresh and tasty), the salmon roll (not worth it) and the red curry duck (was excellent, I would recommend it)
Presentation of the dishes was excellent. The service however was nor good nor bad and didn't try very hard. We tipped 2 euros and in hindsight we paid more than we said because the waiter was too quick and cheeky for us.
In total good food versus very average service 3/5

Discovered this wonderful place having googled my favourite chef in Prague, Sofia Smith. Over 19 years of visits from the UK I've been fortunate to taste her stunning cuisine several times. As always Sophia was delivering the finest Asian Fusion delights I could have hoped for.
As a group of three we sampled almost all of the starters and shared. A highlight for me was the king prawns. How so much flavour and enjoyment could be fused into this dish is a miracle!
Everything we had was wonderful. If you want to be assured of great food when there is a sea of choice in Prague, then look no further. We had more than just a meal, it was an experience and that is more than you can hope for!
Prices were reasonable and service/atmosphere, just perfect.
Not a huge place so book to avoid disappointment.

Amazing food, I’m a picky eater but loved this, it’s a small place so best to book in advance to avoid disappointment- everything we had was delicious. We had the tasting menu which is for a minimum of 2 people-couldn’t fault it

We visited with friends following a recommendation from our daughter. My wife and I had the feast menu. Our friends just ate from the normal menu. It was excellent. Many thanks to Sofia and her team.

The food is absolutely stunning. A wonderful mix of Asian/Thai fusion. We had some handmade sushi to start which was delicious. Every course thereafter was amazing - beautifully balanced flavours and textures - by far the best food we had during our stay in Prague and we tried quite a few restaurants. I cannot recommend the food highly enough if you are visiting Prague. Hats off to the chef, Sofia Smith. The restaurant is very cosy with a lovely atmosphere and the staff were delightful - what more can you ask for. We will definitely be going back to Cafe Buddha Balbinova next time we are in Prague - we could eat there every day!

My friend and I arrived late afternoon in Prague on a train from Budapest. We were tired and hungry. The Buddha cafe was around the corner from our Airbnb and was well reviewed so we decided to try it. I wanted to avoid Asian food bec were in Europe and I am used to Asian food. SO glad we tried it. We asked for the tasting menu. It was fab. Delicious and beautifully presented. Our server was very kind as well. And the pitcher of lemonade was super refreshing.
When I got back home I saw that I had been charged twice for the meal by accident. My credit card company refused to help me
Until I had tried to reach out to the cafe first. I didn’t know if that would work but I did it anyway and could not believe it when I received a reply to my email.
After some email exchanges to try to figure out what happened and how to resolve it, I was promptly refunded. I won’t lie and say that I knew it because I had imagined just being ignored and never receiving a reply to my initial message. But this whole episode was worth way more than the refund because it reminded me that there is still a lot of decency and honesty In the world. It was an amazing thing that happened. Super happy with Buddha cafe in every way. Please go there if you are in Prague and looking for a fabulous meal offered by fabulous people.
Thank you again Buddha cafe!!!

Cafe Buddha on Balbinova (they have 2 restaurants in Prague) is a small cosy place with great asian food. Reservation upfront is needed. They offer special cocktails, tasty starters, sushi and small variety of main dishes such as curry, laksa or rendang. We had duck curry and chicken rendang, both delicious. I can also recommend the Balinese Prawn Sambal as a starter! The staff is also very nice and professional. On top of everything, they offer cooking courses (thai, vietnamese, sushi) which might be a nice gift/teambuilding idea.

Compared to the medieval heart of Prague, this neighborhood standing on former vineyards developed very quickly in the first decades of the 19th century. With its amazing parks, classicist houses, terrace cafés, artsy bars, cozy restaurants, markets, and vintage and trendy shops, it is a home for people from all around the world.
