This small restaurant directly opposite the Veletzrni Palace is well worth a visit. I had a fine Chicken Broth followed by a Roasted Duck Leg with Pureed Potato and Red Cabbage. Also my favourite Pilsner Urquell 0.5L. Overall the cost was just CZK254, with a tip CZK280 ... approx £10. The service was very pleasant. They have Menus in English and the soup was hot, tasty and the Main Course was enough for two people. I just love warm Red Cabbage.

Amazing restaurant! Very typical of Czechia, the food is very delicious and despite having a tavern or restaurant atmosphere, the dishes are very well plated! . Very friendly staff!!!! And beer 🍻🍻🍻🍻!!!! We ordered the grilled camembert (a butter), the venison alchichacee (fabulous), the goulash (delicious) and the shredded duck (tasty) ... for dessert some 🥞 with red fruits! Ricooo.. everything great... We will be back

U haubare is a typical brown Czech neighborhood pub with service located in the Holosovice district only 15 minutes by tram from the center of Prague. The guests at the place mostly seemed to be Czech regulars from the area and there seemed to be few tourists in a city that is otherwise full of them. The venue itself is brown, rough and has survived the urge many have had for modernization and renewal. The menu mostly consists of Czech home cooking, which means a lot of meat, knödel and sauce, in addition to a good selection of schnitzels with various types of side dishes. The service came across as informal, but present in a classic and pleasant way that fits well with the rest of the place. The drink order was taken when the menu was presented on the table and a frothy glass of Czech beer was on the table at about the same time. We chose to order snitzel with mushroom sauce and snitzel Vienna style respectively. The food was served after approx. 15 minutes, which was experienced as within in relation to the type of place. The food was nicely presented and seemed to be made from scratch using fresh and fresh ingredients. The portions appeared generous and the food tasted excellent. Do not expect gourmet, but folk, generous and home-made food with Czech love. The waiter followed up well during the meal, asked if the food was tasty and quickly offered more to drink when the glasses were empty. We also received quick attention when we wanted to pay and a nice greeting when we left the place. This was one of those rare moments where you experience genuine and real food based on love and tradition. If you're looking for this, you can't get any better. Unfortunately, there are not many such places left in Prague. I will visit the place next time I am in Prague and can recommend it to anyone who is in the area.

I was there on 23rd december 2024. Terrible service. Ignorant staff. Like in old comunism style. I will never come back again. So many other restaurants around with a good service and better beer. What a shame.

Food was good. One of the waiters could speak basic English. However not worth the 10% "tip" they tried to pass as "couvert".

A great restaurant. We were staying at the Mama Shelter and this was only a few minutes walk away. Food was great! My partner had the pork neck and I had the Camembert. Prices were reasonable and food was good.

Great atmosphere, crowded with locals! Watched a football match while enjoying few drinks and cheerful chats with the locals. Nice staff and affordable prices.

We visited this place just for a beer one night, before returning to our apartment. The deco is vintage but it felt more of a -we don't care to maintain- than a style option. Unfortunately they didn't have all the beers mentioned in the menu so we had to get one we had already had before. All this is ok but the attitude of the waiter was very bad. He didn't use a proper greeting, say please or thank you. In general his whole attitude was -just order and let's this over with". Bad.

You can taste the local food for less than half the price compared to the city centre! You can drink local beers as well. Very fast and kind service. There is english menu for tourists. Recommended without a doubt!

Good beer, very good goulash and Svíčková, quite reasonable prices. I also liked the service. The place is mainly occupied by locals and is quite vintage.

The place was packed with locals so we knew we were onto a good thing. Great lively atmosphere so not exactly the place for a quiet romantic meal but we loved it. They serve some of the best traditional Czech food we tasted, the portions are big and the price is low for the quality of your meal. Service was fast, friendly and helpful. The staff speak adequate English for a local bar and the menu is also written in English so these guys are well set up for a busy future with UK tourists if they keep these standards up. Thank you for a brilliant eating experience.

Good food in a fairly standard Czech pub setting. Well priced and tasty, but need to point out that we were charged for bread that was provided without asking at the start (not much, 16 Kč for two people) and a cover charge of 20 Kč, neither of which was discussed before it arrived on the bill. My partner paid and didn't point it out to me until afterwards. Didn't stop it being affordable, but left a bad taste :( Not sure if it's standard, but we've had meals on the same road that didn't do it.

They have very reasonable prices, the cheapest restaurant we’ve been in Prague. The food is good. They have good czech beer. The waiters should be more nice.
