Walking around the wonderful Zizkov District my twin brother Stephen and I decided to drop into U Slovanske Lipy ,a great pub I always look forward to dropping into.
I love the look of this locals pub,interior is superb ,an eye catching serving bar ,pubby decor and furnishings ,traditional and cosy sums it up best .
We were here on a Wednesday night,pub was very busy with a great atmosphere ,we ordered beers from Parmon Brewery,these were served in excellent condition,we just kicked back,chilled out and took in the great pub we were in.
My beer was really good,a light,hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste ,very easy to drink,a beer style both myself and my twin brother are really fond of,it was just so good being in such a great pub enjoying a freezing cold beer.
We really enjoyed our visit to U Slovanske
Lipy ,so much so that we also enjoyed a generous measure of becherovka ,the strong herbal liquor that's a great way to finish of our visit to this pub .
U Slovanske
Lipy is easy to locate along Tachovske Namesti.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday,11am till 11pm.
A great pub,well worth checking out if hours in the area.

If there's one pub I know I'm going to visit on any holiday I take to Prague its U Slovansky Lipy, been here before on previous holidays to Prague, always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit.
I love the look of this pub, interior is superb, a serving bar area which is really eye catching, big room is fantastic, great for dining in ,pubby decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options, it's just a great pub to unwind in.
We were here on a Friday late afternoon, we had already ate so we were only here for beers, beer selection here is spot on ,we chose a pale ale style beer, these were served in pristine condition, we chilled out and planned out the night ahead while sipping our pale ale's.
My pale ale was really good, well balanced, well crafted, hints of toffee, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a smooth finish, its hardly surprising that this pub is so popular with beers served in this good a condition.
We both really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time.
U Slovansky Lipy is easy to locate along Tachovsky Namesti.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Saturday, 11am till 11pm.
Sunday, 11am till 10pm.
Well worth checking out if you're in the Zizkov district of Prague.

We got off to a slow start being Australian english speakers but the staff certainly warmed to us on what was a quiet night. Good menu of local selections and a good choice of local beers on tap. Very good value and easy to get to.

We have come back today for lunch to this restaurant we already knew well.
Food was good, in accordance with our expectations. As to beer, they propose a variety of excellent types brewed by some selected producers. Service supplied by Libor was good as well.

This is the real deal ,it's a traditional pub ,interior is superb ,walking in you have the very cool looking serving bar ,main room is big ,rustic looking ,superb decor and furnishings and lots of seating options , it's a great pub to chill out in.
My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Friday night ,pub was busy with a great atmosphere ,we had a study of their beer range and we both opted to have Skydancer Brewery American pale ale,these were served in pristine condition ,we chilled out,warmed up while sipping our beers.
My pale ale was really good ,golden ,light,hoppy and bursting with taste ,when beers such as this are served freezing cold they're just so delicious ,it was just so good being in such a great pub enjoying a quality beer and sat with my twinny Ste ,best beer companion in the world.
We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time.

U Slovanské Lípy is a Žìžkov institution and is located on Tachovské náměsti that offer an excellent well priced food range plus a superb range of beers.
Located by Žìžkov tunnel and in an area of Prague where there are many superb pubs bars and restaurant's.This superb pub and restaurant has stood the test of time and it is as good now as it was when we first went to here many years ago.
Recently refurbished and all the better for it which makes a change as when pub's or restaurants have a refurbishment it usually isn't the same but somehow this place has retained its unique atmosphere.
The place is split into three distinct areas'it has a front tap-room where the bar can be found'then theres a main room with superb fixtures and features and excellent seating options and then there's a side room that's tastefully decorated.
We have visited here numerous time's over the year's and let me tell you this pub is an amazing restaurant and pub that offers an excellent Czech food menu thats excellent value but if I was coming here for a meal its ideal to book in advance.
On our visit to U Slovanské Lipy we came in here for the beers as we had just been to a pub for a meal.When we visited here it was rammed but the staff found us a table and we ordered a few Permon IPA beers which were superb and well priced.
U Slovanské Lípy is well worth a visit and so easy to get to from Tachovské náměsti bus stop its a short walk.(This is my first review of Restaurace U Slovanské Lípy).

of ordinary Czech man this is a nice pub with very good selection of local beers and tasty food. The price /value is though rather low. The size of portion of the tasty chicken wings I had yesterday was hardly half of what you get in other similar restaurants but the price was higher. But the beers put this somehow into balance....Next time I will come there eaten :-)

We called in here on the first night of our holiday. I had pork in a pepper cream sauce, I personally would have liked it slightly more peppery as it was mostly cream but I still enjoyed it. The mash with bacon in it was gorgeous I could have quite happily have sat there and eaten a huge bowl of it. My partner had the same meal but with a mushroom sauce which was very tasty. The beer was very nice and staff were good. the price of the meal was very reasonable. well worth a visit

Done the sights in Prague 1 then back to pregame 3 where we are staying, the apparent had a map and recommend places, you tend to be sceptical of these, but it proved it’s worth and we had a 3 minute walk to here, very friendly service and excellent food, lots of locals seemed to be eating here.
The beer is superb, had a wheat beer that was fruit and very fresh, with a hint of liquorice.
If your in Prague try it as the food and drink are excellent, as is the service and price.

The Zizkov district is one of my favourite districts of Prague to visit ,teeming with pubs,bars and restaurants and eclectic architecture, it's an area I eagerly look forward to visiting on any holiday I take to this most beautiful of cities and taverns such as U Slovanske Lipy make this such a popular area to visit.
I love the look of this tavern ,an authentic traditional interior, multi roomed with great decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this tavern,it really is a great tavern.
My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Friday afternoon, we got a table were we ordered a beer each,we chose Albrecht 10° ,this delicious beer was served in excellent condition, we perused the menu were we both chose pork steak in a creamy potato garlic sauce, after a relatively short wait our meals arrived and what a treat, my pork was outstanding, beautifully cooked and seasoned, cream potatoes were delicious and coupled with our delicious beers made for a first rate dining experience.
We really enjoyed our meal and beers in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time.
U Slovanske Lipy is easy to locate, tram number 5.9.26.55.58 to stop Lipanska,walk down a street called Chlomova towards the hills were you will find this tavern on a street called Tchovske Namesti or if your in the Karlin district simply walk through the pedestrianised Karlin- Zizkov district ,tavern is on left on exiting tunnel .
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday, 11am till Midnight.
A great tavern,well worth checking out if your in the area.

The restaurant was recommended by our hotel so we thought we’d give it a try as it was just up the road but unfortunately our first visit was disappointing. It was Friday night and the place was full and we were of the misunderstanding that we had to wait to be seated which is probably why we were ignored: the staff didn’t seem interested and on first impressions were quite rude but looking back it was probably our mistake.
We decided to give it another try a couple of days later and fortunately it wasn’t busy, we were told to sit where we liked and our drinks were quickly served and our order taken. I have to explain that I have food allergies and unlike some other Czech restaurants we’d visited instead of being told to order a salad, the waiter was really helpful and the chef did everything possible to adapt my meal. We had traditional garlic soup to start and I had the confit duck but with green beans and bacon Instead of the red cabbage and my husband had the schnitzel. Both meals were really good, the green beans and bacon were exceptional and the place is so authentic and unspoilt: the beer was good too!
