There are few places that put in as much effort as this venue did to make a night out fun. We attended as group of 7 lads, but the venue cater for all. This was the start of our weekend events and was well worth...it, I would recommend you do the show currently Tuesday- Saturday evenings only. Approx £45 (1200CZk) Unlimited beer, great food 5 courses of meat mainly and a terrific medieval show. Plus the team adapt this show for locals and the tourists alike very entertaining, they are all very welcoming and friendly. Great night! Thanks!More

We went here on the recommendation of friends so came here specifically. We went downstairs, as they said it was good, and joined a couple of other tables of people down there. But immediately some rude fella came down telling us all that it was...shut and we had to go upstairs. When we got up there there were no seats anywhere, so everyone left. The Castle Pub was happy with the bonus custom that this place didnt want, anyway.More

Had a good night. Several different types of entertainment throughout the evening and very interactive. If you take the 1200 package there is unlimited drinks which did encourage a lot of people to drink heavily. The only disappointing thing was the food we ended up...leaving hungry as the food was not good at all.More

Amazing setting, so you'd think it's hard to go wrong. Well, you can. We took the dinner package and were picked up at our hotel exactly on time. We were taken to the an amazing place underground, apparently the oldest pub in Prague. So far...so good. But then, nobody looked after us. We had to ask for water twice before it arrived. Then an "appetizer plate" was brought to us - consisting of cheap sausage bits, pieces of bad quality cheese and some random salad, and all this came with a rock hard bread. Well, we kept seeing waiters go by with plates that seemed to contain juicy bits of meat, so we were still hopeful that the main course would be better. Wrong. We were presented with a platter that consisted of super dry pieces of BBQ meat on a stick, two pieces of lukewarm, unseasoned corn and some other bits of meat - only some of which were borderline delicious, By this time we were laughing together, because it was so bad that it was funny. The desert was a piece of cold apple pie, which was not bad, but we didn't feel like eating it cold. So that's the food. One star for that - and two stars for the service. But the great part was the program! There were these very well choreographed short shows and numbers that consisted of musical numbers, dance, fire shows and joggling. It may not sound like much when I write it like this, but it was actually really, really good! The artists were true professionals, they spoke multiple languages fluently, and entertained the customers very, very well. I wouldn't think that it would be that hard to make good medieval food. To make this bad actually takes some effort. Amazing surroundings and excellent entertainment - all you need is great food and great service to make this a five star experience.More

Was ok. The staff were friendly, their humour (especially the young girls) could have been taken in a different way as it was very dry. For instance, I asked for a knife and this girl looked at me deadpan and said "eat with your hands"...before walking away. I think she was joking, but I can't be sure as I was never brought the knife! However I asked for water and had to ask again, and the male waiter apologised for forgetting (So potentially just forgetful people?) The food was kind of gross. I wasn't expecting anything fab as Eastern European cuisine is generally quite basic anyway (plain meats, potatoes, soup etc.) but regardless of ingredients preparation could have been better. Chicken was dry, corn was cold and the cheese board looked like the contents of my fridge at the end of the month. The overall feel was kind of cute in terms of experience, but I think Prague is truly losing it's authenticity, which is wholly embodied in this tavern. Get rid of the gimmicks, and this could soon be the best tourist pub in Prague.More

Located on the small road leading up towards the castle. Serves really decent local ale in a medieval setting. worth a visit for a drink or two.

I have to say that I was very disappointed by the approach of the staff of this tavern. It was Sunday afternoon,me and my husband wanted to stop there on the recommendation of our friend. Approximately half of the tavern was occupied, some unoccupied tables...having reservation sign, guests had their meals, drinks, music was playing, the atmosphere seemed very pleasant. We found the table, but the waiter said all of the tables downstairs were reserved and sent us upstairs - though only some tables had the sign "Reserved" , but ok, we moved upstairs, where we found another signless table for two. A young waitress came smiling and asked us in English what we wanted for drink. When my husband said in Czech: "Good afternoon, 2 beers, please!", her behavior changed 180°, the smile was gone and she said very roughly: "But we are closed!". I said: "Well, your colleague just sent us from downstairs here and he did not mention it." She said: "I don´t know why he told you so!", panicked and fled away. We were left sitting there without any beer coming, so we left. As I found out on their website, it is "Open daily since 1375", on Sunday specifically from 11 am till 11 pm, and the Medieval shows take place from Tuesday to Saturday, 19:00 - 22:00 - so Sunday 5 p.m. is definitely not out of their working hours. Not that I noticed any sign on the door. I have to say that we were heading for the chanson concert afterwards, so we were dressed up appropriately, even though I presume the tavern doesn´t have the code dress. We were not drunk, we didn´t stink, we behaved decently - it really felt like the problem was we didn´t answer to the waitress in the foreign language. In fact, we are foreigners - Slovak, but I studied law in Czech Republic and my husband has been working in Czech Republic for 10 years, so the country doesn´t seem to us so foreign. Well, maybe the staff just wanted to give us a medieval like experience of the Witcher in Blaviken.More

This place wins the award for Best Pleasant Surprise of our trip. The food was excellent and the entertainment out of this world. Beyond that, the venue was very cool. Some might think the place very touristy, and that may be true, but the quality...of the food, and the effort that goes into the shows was amazing. The entertainment was non-stop. The grilled vegetable appetizer, the endless plate of meats and all were prepared fresh. I was shocked, as it was warm and fresh in all cases. And the wine, was not cheap stuff. It was high quality and kept coming. We ordered the All Inclusive Package and it was the right choice. We are not heavy drinkers, but enjoyed some good Moscato wine. It was a surprise they had a high quality wine in the package. We ordered more ribs and they prepared them fresh and brought more. I have never had all you can eat and fresh made. The food rivalled the better restaurants we visited during our trip. Even when we finished the meal, we hung around as the entertainment kept changing. We had a wonderful time and glad we attended.More

While we didn't do the dining experience (sadly!), we did visit twice during the day for food and drinks. It is a authentic feeling medieval experience sitting by candlelight. I am a vegetarian and had a veg option for lunch which fit the bill. It...was top quality vegetarian food but still tasty. The beer on the other hand was delicious! Get ready for your bill...it is given in a unique and surprising way!! Highly recommend and an easy stop if visiting the castle. I can't wait to go back again someday!More
