I have been here for the mediaeval evening four times already and had a wonderful time. As always, the meal was excellent and the beer a delight. Unfortunately on this occasion I was given a table alone in a room at the back. I could...not participate in the show (I could hardly see the show). When I eventually complained they were very apologetic and did not charge me for the show, only the food. I’ve been here many times just to drink their wonderful beer and always been impressed - the atmosphere is great. Apart from this momentary lapse, I really like this place and but for the lapse would give it five stars. It really is a good place.More

Not a bad place, just nothing for claustrophobics and those who do not like darkness (well, it should be like a medieval atmosphere...) Perhaps not recommendable for families with smaller children (not our case, we have already teenagers). Meals were OK, the venue even (completely...NON-medievally!! :-)) accepts credit cards.More

This tavern offers a medieval experience very close to the castle. The particularity is that the only lights are offered by few candles, hence the environment is very dark. It is not recommended to people with problems of claustrophobia. The food was of good quality,...but the portions could have been more abundant…More

This is a fantastic experience, starting with the welcoming staff that play the role well in hosting you into a medieval tavern, to the dark medieval theme, and the various entertainment. Food was ok, though it was too much. All in all we were quite...entertained over 2-3 hours, so god fun!More

OK, so first of all, if you want to know what it was like drinking 500+ years ago, go and check out this pub. It's awesome. The building is old and beautiful and as I said above I could really feel the history popping out...of this place. To be drinking in such a historical building was just awesome. The staff were cool to. They bring you your drinks and slam them on the table. Very authentic. Highly recommend.More

We were recommended this place by a local and it did not disappoint. It was the food experience we didn’t know we needed! I loved how the whole restaurant lived up to its reputation of the oldest pub in prague. Everything about it represented how...I imagine a medieval tavern to be. Simple things like the interior and lighting but uniquely the waiters dressed like medieval times, no knives and forks (although I’m sure you could ask for some but I loved the authentic way of eating) and what we especially noted and loved was how the waiter slams the beers down on the table. The food did not disappoint either. The majority of the menu is grilled type of food as you’d get back in the times, hence no need for knives and forks. I had the Kings platter (about 24 quid) effectively a big mix grill which was the tastiest mix grill I’ve had anywhere. Even the vegetables such as the grilled aubergine and courgette were delicious. My friend had a fillet steak which looked cooked to perfection and he said was also very good. Overall great food and arguably even better service and experience. For me a must to visit.More

This was fantastic. One of the oldest pubs in Prague. Found this by accident searching for where to go whilst in Prague. We booked the evening meal with the entertainment and we can say it is a must visit. The place is very game of...thrones. Very dark with only candlelight everywhere, we were in the room with skulls all over the ceiling which really added to the experience. Beer was very good as was the service, with the waiter slamming the drinks on the table in medieval fashion. The food. Well the starter was a massive plate of meats, salads and cheeses we both really enjoyed this but the main was better. A plate full of different meats from skewers with chicken, lamb and chorizo to ribs with sweetcorn etc. The show was really good also, with jugglers, magicians, fire breathers and dancers. This is a brilliant evening of how you would imagine back in the day. A great evening was had. Really do go and try it if you get the opportunity. Highly recommendedMore

The servers are very nice and helpful. The...show included dancer, trapezist, magician and several tricks with fire. Of course it is for tourist but this is what we were and mamaged to enjoy the medieval atmosphere!More

We visited this Tavern on two occasions during our stay in Prague. The first time we visited we just stumbled across it. It's very different! Dark inside with only candle lit tables we entered and found a table near the bar. The food and service...were excellent. We decided to revisit for a medieval banquet night, which was really enjoyable and so worth the experience. We paid 1400 Czech Koruna each for food and unlimited drinks and entertainment from dancers, music, magician, snakes and a fire eater. A great place and so worth a visit when you are either on your way up to Prague Castle / St Vitus Cathedral or coming down or just make that special visit. Special mention to both Vlado and Clara for making the medieval banquet night a good one.More

A unique and unforgettable atmosphere almost without lights in the darkness, "rude" stuff with a rough way of communication and no cutlery. The food is very tasty, great choice of Czech beers, cheeses, snacks to eat with a beer or a delicious sausage. Also the...location is amazing - right under the castle in the part of the city called Hradčany. You must visit this place while being in Prague - you will see how the taverns and the hospitality looked like in medieval Czechia. The higher prices are expectable beacuse the place is really irreplaceable so it was no problem in this caseMore

It is the oldest bar in Prague. 1375 and it shows.lol It was really dark inside and we asked the staff for a table and they just said "Look around until you find an empty table and sit down." We didn't know if this was...done jokingly or not. We ordered 4 beers and they brought them to the table and slammed them down hard. We thought it was us but they did it for everybody who ordered. It was a great placeMore

Are you sure you’re asking about the right place? (And not the “U Pavouka” five course meal) The beer with the three course meal here is the same as they serve during the day, including their “home made” dark beer.
