excellent tasty food which was reasonably priced. Harish provided us with fantastic service to make our meal extra special
Great Indian food! My brother and me visited the place on a Sunday night. Amazing food and kind people. The place is situated in a nice neighborhood (prague7). I recommend to go there and try the Palak dish!
Delicious food, great indian restaurant, very kind service and Quick Excellent adress to discover Near Letna park with a great view on Praha
This is long but it is a story I felt compelled to tell especially for Expats. Recently my wife Susan Arnold and I moved to Prague from Chicago. We plan to live here permanently as my mother and mother's parents were Czech. We will be...living in Prague 7. For those of you not familiar with Prague, Prague has 10 districts which spiral out from Prague 1. Imagine a city being formed like a Fibonacci Spiral. Normally in our US way would expect district 2 to be next to district 1. Not the case here in Prague. I say this as growing up in the US, I will be 70 in October, what I would hear from my mother is how Prague is like a magical almost fairytale city. That is an understatement. Prague is astoundingly beautiful in it's architecture, parks, river, streets, buildings with surprises in every direction. I feel like a child in awe and wonder. Fortunately, thanks to my wife Susan L. Arnold who spent years researching our genealogy as a descendant of a Czech family I am becoming a Czech citizen. Now that I am here even so far only a very short time I have been having what I can only describe as magical experiences. You might wonder "What does this have to do with a restaurant?" "What does this have to do with Curry Palace?" I could say the food is exquisite but that would not do my experience justice. There are restaurants that serve phenomenal food. When you leave these restaurants you know the food was superb. There are restaurants that have great service but as we have all experienced they are especially in the US very expensive and the food may be worth that or more. As an American who has lived in San Francisco, Houston, Chicago, Florida I have seen and know other major cities but nothing I have experienced has been like this. I didn't go out to find or look for Curry Palace. I walked around the corner from where we are staying and an Indian man was standing there. I don't remember if I saw him or the sign for Curry Palace first. Neither he nor the sign comes out to flash at you or draw your attention as we often see in the US as a battle get our attention. Do we look at this flashing sign or that flashing sign or hear the advertising almost like a tsunami. I have been so acclimated to by what I guess I would call the bombardment of ads that I didn't realize that real magic is not in what can ad can get us to buy whatever is being sold but rather the magic is what we only see, taste, smell when our senses are awakened. As I approached still in my US mindset of trying to withstand the noise I began to realize how much I had been blocking. I began to realize why I often felt numbed. I realized how much I was missing sights, sounds, smells, tastes and feeling of true friendship not based on time but based on being connected to something more. I felt tingling of awakening. I had turned down or off much of what life offers us that is not a hammer but the music of life. The joy we are born with but tune out as not seen as "useful" in our modern world. I stopped at the doorway. Babu spoke to me not as way of pulling me into his restaurant but has two humans meeting more as heart to heart than as what I feel many of us have become accustomed to as transactional. What can I get from this meeting? I felt without realizing this until later that I felt. Those of you that know me have hear me say "We may not have the power to change the world. But we each have the power to change the moment.” In that moment at the doorway to Curry Palace I felt my sense of smell awaken. Smell is the only sense that never sleeps. There is the saying you don't know what you are missing until it's gone. In that moment I realized that I didn't know what I was missing until my sense of smell, taste, and kindness from my new friend/brother was awakened. That moment didn't change the world but it did change me. I don't write reviews. I write what comes to me. I am turning 70 on October 10th. I can't think of a better place to celebrate my 70th birthday. Please join me there at Curry Palace. We have the power to the change the moment. At 70 the common phrase would be that I am in the Autumn or even Winter season of my life but I prefer to see it as I am in the Seasonings of my life. I will be broadcasting it live from Curry Palace. If you are in Prague. If you are an Expat here in Prague please join me and my beautiful wife Susan L. Arnold at Curry Palace. There are some things you can't have too much of. Great Friends and Great Food. We here from the US aren't Expats we are Newpats. Allow me to share this with you.More
One of our favorite Indian restaurant in Prague. Service is extremely good and food taste is great. Highly recommended
Cozy restaurant. Amazing food, lots of dishes to choose from. The service is very friendly. Loved it!
I had a lunch there and I can highly recommend this place. Service was excellent, restaurant was clean, and meal was delicious.
We did not like the typo of plain papadoms which show kind of bubbles and stick to your gums and teeth. We ordered meat phal and chicken jalfrezi. Both with good pieces of lean and tender meat and sufficiently hot. We would have thouroughlt enjoyed...the lunch if it were not for the nan. It look more like a chunk of pizza dough - round solid heavy dough, no flakey dough and tear shape which comes from the tandoori oven. This looked as if it had been cooked in a pan or microwave. It had not resemblance to nan in taste, shape or texture. The chapati was much better. If they start serving proper nan and better papadoms (no way were they made in tandoori oven as the waiter claimed) we would very much enjoy going back. The service was elusive and impersonal after my comments on the nanMore
Great tasting food delivered to our hotel, nice and hot by a very nice lady exactly on time even though Prague was closed down due to Corona virus
Had a quick lunch and found both the chicken and veggie option on the lunch list very tasty and with good value for the money. Definitely recommended.
Really nice food, not the best indian food I've ever had (compared to the SEA countries!) , but definitely one of the nicer places around, especially for Europe. Very satisfying and large portions, the customer service is great! Good restaurant to bring family as well.
This place deserves 5/5 in all categories, their service is excellent, the food is amazing, and even the music they have playing gently is a perfect accompaniment to the food. Make sure to try the onion bhaji if you go, they're awesome!
Good atmosphear with nice music and people were efficient and nice. Food was good, but not so much choise for Indian food. Completely absent masala dosa, or special Indian meals. Lack of pickles and just 3 kind of sweets. We had to order 2 dishes...of bread to fill the stomach because of less amount they brought. Approximetely positive.More
The special fried rice was exceptional. The chef specials too, especially the lamb. Fast and friendly service.
