I was there with couple of friends on a Thursday evening. You can order in this restaurant classic Cesk dishes. I had Pilsener Goulash. The goulash had a nice taste. The waiter was very friendly and was helpful with choosing the right dish. The location...is special, old fashioned. It is a visit worth. I would visit this restaurant again.More

With 6 guests, each selecting a different meal, we were served rapidly. Everybody liked his/her meal, the portions were nice, largely sufficient. It was nice to see the typical knuckle of pork to be much cheaper compared with prices in Prague central area. Disappointing was...that it is served without anything, even a bread must be asked for and is charged as an extra. Another disappointment came at the payment stage. Whilst the restaurant indicates to accept American express, the system did not work. It is not the only place in town attracting guests by accepting Amexco but not accepting this credit card due to “technical” problem. It is indeed very unpleasant to invite friends and not being able to pay due to this type of “problem”. So better to check this aspect before passing the order…More

I used to visit Zubajda very often for lunch in 2018 when I worked nearby, because it was the best cuisine in the area. And if you know how many good restaurants are in Smichov, being the best there means a lot. Everything was so...perfect, every meal and every dish a delight, nice service even in lunch time, so no wonder our whole office was there for a lunch quite frequently. I think all in all I had a lunch there about 50 times or so, so I know what I am talking about. You can imagine my disappointment when after a year I visited it again with my relatives that were visiting me, whom I promised a perfect meal, and found nothing of that former perfection. Stale beer (or at least oddly tasting), roštěna almost impossible to chew, goulash soup without any goulash (seemed to be made of boiled ground meat), even potatoes were totally tasteless like cotton wool. The only thing I liked was ajvar-based dip for roshtena. And as a logical finale, when I calculated the total (to which I added 60 crowns tip), I found out that 80 crowns were already added there! And I didn't receive any bill so I couldn't know that the tip was included until I calculated the sum wondering why it seemed a bit high. This had never never happened a year ago. Giving it an "average" in hope that this was some sort of temporary thing and for my previous fondness of this place. Based on my latest experience only it would be a clear "terrible".More

We were meeting friends in Prague. Searching for a restaurant that would be near to our hotel (the Red and Blue), and also near to them, we chose Zubajda. Going down and down the stairs to get there makes you feel that you really are...going into an old beer cellar, and the cool temperature down there, on a very hot day, just reinforced the image. The room itself is wonderful and atmospheric, as you can somewhat tell by the picture. Contrary to what one reviewer reported, we were greeted very warmly and the service was excellent. Everyone chose something different, and all were happy with their meals. The biggest surprise, which had us all laughing as it arrived, was the pork knuckle! It was the size of a chicken! The woman who chose that said it was really good, but she could only eat about half of it, if that. I had salmon, which was delicious and perfectly cooked. My husband had beef kabobs, which he reported were "absolutely delicious!" Other people had pork ribs, pork in a cream sauce, and duck confit. Because we had a show to get to, we had to leave without desserts, but no one felt deprived: the portions were large enough to really fill us up, and the entire experience left us feeling very satisfied.More

Down in the cellars this place has a great atmosphere and some great Czech dishes. Service is good and prompt. Prices good too. First experience of Czech dumplings here and found them to be a little heavy but this turns out to be the norm....Enjoyed potato dumplings more than bread ones which were a bit boring.More

Delicious food and plenty of it. Bring your appetite or prepare to share. The pork knuckle and the duck in particular were huge portions.

I saw the reviews of this restaurant online ranging around four stars, so I decided to give it a try. The restaurant itself is located down in the basement at the Hotel U Martina. The decor of this place is reminiscent of many basement establishments...in Prague. It gives you an old pub feeling. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the place is clean overall. After sitting I was immediately asked for my drink order, but the waiter came across too nonchalant, as if he didn't care. He wasn't rude, but he definitely wasn't professional. After my drink came I ordered Czech Garlic Soup and Fried Chicken Steak. The soup was almost cold, but tasty. If it had been hot, then it would have been excellent. The steak was well prepared. Not overcooked nor under-cooked, just right and juicy. After I finished I ordered a beer and then finished. If you are staying in the area here there are many places to choose from. The prices here are not as high as some of those around. I don't know if I caught the waiter on a bad day, but then again that is no excuse. Frankly, if the soup would have been hot and the waiter a little more professional, then I could have easily given this place four stars as well. I will come here again in the future to give them another chance, and see if they can earn that fourth (or maybe more) star.More

This place has it all. Excellent ambiance, food, beer (Pilsner), service as well as friendly atmosphere and prices. After 15 years we (my wife and I) finally went to Prague once again to visit our family and friends. Although we were both born in Prague...I asked my friend to suggest a place where we can get all together. Well he really came through for us. You really cannot go wrong with any item on the menu. I personally liked the steak tartar. Prepared and served as only Czechs can do. I cannot rate deserts. We all skipped them and stuck with beer! We dined here two successive nights and I am sure we’ll be back next time in Prague. Thanks Zubajda for the great time we all had!More
