Very good food, beer, and atmosphere. But after having faced the staff's sexist behaviour and comments, I decided not to go there anymore. What a pity.

My twin brother Stephen and I were pub hopping around the wonderful Vinohrady District when we decided to drop into Hostinec U Vodoucha,a pub we always look forward to visiting on any holiday we take to Prague. I love the look of this pub,the interior...is as traditional as it gets, chunky wooden table and chairs, pubby decor and furnishings, vintage advertising enamels adorning the walls ,an eye catching serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, a great pub to unwind in. We were here on a Wednesday evening, as we had just ate we were only here for beers, a quick study of their beer selection which is really good and we both chose pale ale's from Clock Brewery, these were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. My pale ale was really good, a crisp, light and hoppy pale ale, hints of toffee, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish to it that we both enjoy, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew. We really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to Hostinec U Vodoucha we had a great time. Hostinec U Vodoucha is easy to locate along Jagellonska. Opening hours are; Monday to Friday, 11am till 11pm. Saturday, Midday till 11pm. Sunday, closed. A great locals pub, well worth checking out if you're in the Vinohrady District.More
Hostinec U Vodoucha is without doubt one of the best hostinecs in Vinohrady and can be found on Jagellonská.This is a fantastic hostinec that offers traditional Czech food and a superb range of Czech beers. Hostinec U Vodoucha has a traditional old world look and...feel and has two rooms. The first room as you enter this hostinec has an excellent bar with nine Czech tap beers on offer and a tasty menu. There are plenty of interesting fixtures and features relating to beer and this area of Prague. The other room in this hostinec is fantastic and has nice decor and furnishings and is reminiscent of the bar room. This is a really traditional hostinec and reminiscent of the superb U Šumavy and U Slovanské Lípy. We visited this superb hostinec after going to Hospůdka V Ateliéru and as we just had a meal we decided to have a few beers as there range is superb. When we visited we had an excellent Czech beer which where perfectly served and well priced. Hostinec U Vodoucha is a very traditional hostinec and well worth visiting and really easy to find from Jìřího Z Poděbrad metro it's a couple of minutes walk.(This is my first review of Hostinec U Vodoucha). Ok, I think this place wins my favorite Prag Czech food. The garlic soup is so good!!!! Wow. Tasty. The schnitzel is to die for, the chicken is moist and the bread crumb is crispy but not too salty or greasy. And beers areA+. My...total bill was less than $12. Food is inexpensive by the Prag tower. This place is the best deal in town. Wonderful service. The menu was all in Czech. But I use my Google translate app camera setting to translate words by one scan.More
We had dinner here as it was near our hotel. Typical local restaurant, with local food and local customers. The food was overall very good: tasty burger, very good pork stake with cranberry sauce and good marinated pork with onions (it was a bit on...the heavy side, but still good). Although the place is quite loud, it doesn't really bother you too much. Staff are friendly. No credit cards accepted.More
We loved this place so much we went there twice! Once for lunch and then once for dinner. The service was fantastic, our food came very quickly and the waiters were super friendly. There was good local Czech beer and it was a very authentic...pub. Definitely good if you’re looking for a traditional Czech pub. There were lots of locals there as well which is always a good sign. Have to recommend the duck with potato dumplings. Delicious! Only down fall is it is cash only so remember to withdraw money before going!More
Enjoyed a mug of beer and dinner for four. The Bavarian sausages with sauerkraut were delicious as were all the other food choices. Very busy place with mostly locals having fun. I would definitely recommend.
Staying in a residential area of Prague and found this on Trip Advisor . Wow. The beer selection is great, the food is better . Had the meat and cheese appetizer and split an order of the schnitzel. OMG. So good. 2 beers, one app...and one meal $20 US. We are only here for 2 days but we may go back! A definite must if you find yourself in the area .More
Little bit more expensive (not for foreigners) , beer excellent and is changed every day. Recommended.
Nice local bar with good food. Staff was very friendly and service was quick. They do not accept credit cards, ATM close by if needed
We just went to the place with my wife tonight.... indeed we are still there...but because this place really worth the visit, I didn't want to wait a minute more. Menu is simple but very well presented and tasty. We had a mix meat and...cheese platter, A goat cheese salad (cheese was great!) And a pork tenderloin with pepper sauce and fried green beans. Just great. Price is decent...much more than those places in old downtown and won't taste so good. Beer selection is wide. I just got one glass as I have to drive back to the hotel... I should have taken the metro which is not far. For a Monday night, the place is almost full with many locals and a group of Americans. Highly recommended, give it a try.More
We came here as a family of 5 adults and 2 teenagers on a Saturday evening. Warmly greeted and the waitress spoke very good English. We all had typical Czech meals and the food was delicious. Plentiful and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend this place....Thank you.More
it is not expensive and very simply furnitured place that presents spirit of retro and casual style. decorated with old fotos of different beer producers and more. few halls to seat the wooden seats. great dishes. brilliant soups. many locals. even I who usually do...not like beer too much could choose nice one. there smth about 10-15 to choose - all saying nothing to me. They even write in a menu all those little places where the beer is from. Along with names. All in all great place to eat.More
Hostinec U Vodoucha is one of the best pubs in the Zizkov district of Prague, it's a pub that offers a great meal menu and a superb beer list. I love the look of Hostinec U Vodoucha ,a rustic interior, the main serving bar is...located at the entrance of the pub,a big main room with a side back room, photos and football scarves adorning the walls and great furnishings, its decorated tastefully throughout and theres plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, it's a pub I always look forward to visiting on any holiday I take to this most beautiful of cities. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Friday afternoon, we luckily managed to get a table as this pub was full,we had a study of the beers on offer and I opted to have Atbrecht Brewery 10° svetle vycepni while my brother went for Chotoviny Brewery 12° svetle lezek ,both these beers were served in excellent condition, for our meals we both opted to have pork mini schnitzels, creamy potato salad, a side of fries and a bowl of bread, these arrived fairly quickly which was impressive as this pub was packed and the meal was absolutely delicious. The schnitzels were cooked to perfection, very tender, really tasty, creamy potato was awesome, fries were outstanding and the bread super fresh ,coupled with our delicious beers made for a very pleasant dining experience in a very good pub. We really enjoyed our meal and beers in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time . Hostinec U Vodoucha is easy to locate in the Zizkov district, its found on a street called Jagellonská . Opening hours are; Monday to Saturday, 11am till Midnight. Sunday, 11am till 11pm. A great pub,one I highly recommend you visit if your in the area.More
