U Havlicku is the place I have been visiting more than any other on Prague. No wonder there's another review of this place written by me just half a year ago. So, as usual, me and my wife showed up for our favorite wings, anticipating,...rubbing our hands with glee. Well. the wings might have been the same, yet... the plate was smaller. Which is kinda awkward because it is now neither for one (too big) nor for two (too small). I hope this was just one unlucky thing that will not happen again. Everything else just as always, good staff, good atmosphere, good everything. But the wings...More

Located far off a tourist track, this restaurant offers the best the Czech cuisine has, and it is delivered in a beautiful manner. The staff is friendly, the chef is skilled and quick, and the food is great. Now last, yet of course not least,...is the price. You certainly don't pay more than they deserve. It really is value for money. Just try it once, especially the wings, and you will come back.More

This is hands down one of the best reasonably priced "Czech style" pubs in town. The tradition of Austro-Hungarian empire pubs at it's best. Great food with swift and pleasant service with seasonal specials that will help you get out of stereotype in case you...come often.More

U Havlíčků isn’t somewhere you’d find unless you lived locally or were invited by a local. I had to follow a friend’s instructions to arrive there: To get there, take a tram 11 or 14 going out of town to Pod Jezerkou. When you get...off, you, take the road opposite, Mendíků all the way until you cross over the Botič stream. To your right is a big, triangular space. Walk to the far edge and go right. That is Magistrů. The pub is on the second block, about 63.37 metres ahead. The door is around the corner in Děkanská I found the place quite easily. There were tables outside – the street was quiet. Inside was classic Czech but that’s not a bad thing: The Czech beer on tap was Staropramen 11 0.5l 35Kc. I’m not normally a fan of Staropramen but the several I had at U Havlíčků were very good. There were only Czech menus available – that’s not a complaint as this is the Czech Republic. Our waitress seemed to speak pretty good English. Not knowing the food, I played it safe and ordered a burger (I think 175Kc). I was disappointed to find that a slice of cheese was 20Kc extra – really no need to charge for that. I was also disappointed that only regular fries were available and not chunky fries. Friends who had visited before had a bowl or mussels and a plate of prawns. I was quite surprised to see seafood as a speciality of a local bar but was assured that the food was good. My burger was pretty good and came with coleslaw – even the fries were better than I expected. The staff were friendly and efficient. There was free wi-fi available. The toilets were clean and had paper towels – better than hand dryers. I’m sure we’ll return.More

U Havlicku was my wifi saver for several days since the place I was staying at was "media free". Haven't had a chance to eat here but loved the atmosphere and the service they provided. Everyone was very friendly and made me feel like I've...brought a piece of home to Prague :) Oh and, coffee was the best I've had in Prague. Thank you guys! :)More

We have a sunday dinner U Havlicku. It's a very cosy restaurant, run by a family. Great chicken soup, very good beef roll with sausage (from a local farmer), pickle, egg, onion and bacon, and Knedliky as a side. Sauce may be a little bit...to salty, but in total food was delicious. As in all Chech restaurants good choice of beers (We can reccomend Ostrovar). Prices are about half lower than around city centre.More

Ambience, very good food ( I had a nice portion of 11 tasty chicken wings and my wife very good Caesar salad, our other friends were satisfied, too ), very good service - everything is very good until they bring you a beer. Almost each...and every glass of beer was undersized. This is very common bad habit of ( many ) Czech innkeepers to make some extra money but to lose the reputation and some guests, too. Isn't it a pity ?More

In the restaurant Ive been several times and I was always happy. They have an excellent food, draft Kofola and very nice staff. V restauraci jsem byla několikrát a pokaždé spokojená. Mají výborné jídlo, točenou Kofolu a velmi příjemnou obsluhu.

I am living in praha over 4 years as an expat. But here was one of the best restaurant since I stayed in Czech Republic. Me and my partner were taking a walk around this area and we just drop by there because we were...hungry. The atmosphere of the restaurant was quite good and cozy also waiter & waitress were kind and helpful. I ordered kalamary seafood which was a special food for Tuesday only. And we did not expect any good taste as usual but it was really fantastic in the end. ( I am sorry to say But in czech, you would not find any fresh seafood everywhere at all. Also only few restaurants can cook seafood well..) Definatelty we will visit there again Strongly recommended!More

The menu and service is in local language only and it took us a while to understand what we were ordering. But the veal and pork were excellent and with 4 beers the bill was under 20 euro for the dinner for 2 persons. Really...excellent food! The do not take credit cards by the way.More
