As the snow fell my twin brother Stephen and I were pub and bar hopping around the wonderful Zizkov District when we decided to drop into Pivnice U Jary, been here many times over the years ,always had a great time and so it proved on...our latest visit. I love the look of this pub ,it's traditional ,a cool looking serving bar , great decor and furnishings ,chunky wooden table and chairs ,it's just a great pub to chill out in. We grabbed a table ,we ordered beers from Pardubicky Brewery ,these were served in tip top condition ,we checked out the menu and we both opted to have steak in onion with fries ,service was quick and our meals arrived in no time at all ,we tucked In and enjoyed our meal and beers. My meal was really good ,steak was lean ,beautifully cooked ,veg was really tasty and fries were amazing and all washed down by this delicious beer . We really enjoyed our meal and beers in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. Pivnice U Jary is easy to locate along Dalimilova Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from 11am till late. Well worth checking out if you're in the Zizkov District.More

This cosy place was close to where we were staying so we decided to visit based on the reviews and it definitely lived upto it’s expectations. The restaurant itself has a great vibe, fantastic music was playing and everyone in there was really enjoying themselves...but it wasn’t so loud that your conversation was drowned out by others / the music. The staff were friendly and welcoming and spoke good English. It was most definitely a ‘local’ place, most people there were Czech, but we didn’t feel out of place or unwelcome much like other ‘local’ restaurants in Europe. The beer was just what you’d expect, low prices and just the best beer in the world. The food was wholesome, hearty and well prepared, with a very local feel. We had a selection which were all really nicely complimented with the beer. Would recommend if you want somewhere very Czech and with a less tourist vibe, but at the same time looking for somewhere warm & welcoming, this is the place.More

Pardubická Pivnice U Járy is located in the Žìžkov area of Prague on Dalimilova where there are a couple of excellent restaurants and pubs. Housed in a period building that looks very inviting when illuminated'the interior is very traditional with nice decor and furnishing's and...interesting fixtures and features. There are superb seating options throughout the whole interior and very pleasant staff. We went here late in the afternoon and this superb restaurant and pub was really busy as there was a Christmas party in here and we were lucky to get a table. When we visited here we had a superb pint of beer from the Pardubický brewery which were brilliant and as we hadn't had a meal so we ordered a boneless marinated cutlet on onion and fries. The meal and beer were brilliant and very well priced. This is a great restaurant and pub in a superb area that's well worth a visit and is very easy to locate from Seifertova tram stop it's a few minutes walk.(This is my first review of Pardubický Pivnice U Járy). Opening Hours. Monday-Thursday-11.00-22.00. Friday-Saturday-11.00-23.00. Sunday-11.00-22.00. Public Transport. Tram Stop. Seifertova tram stop.More

This restaurant/bar was close to my hotel in the Zizkov area of Prague. The place has friendly attentive staff, excellent food, excellent beer and is super value for money. Because they are in a local area away from the tourist hotspots probaly makes it. The...diners who were in the two nights I had my meals there appeared to all be local, which for me is always a good sign of a good place to eat and drink.) I would recommend a visit here. It is small and has a lovely atmosphere as well.More

Recommended by Tripadvisor, we came to this place because it was in the neighborhood that we stayed while in Prague. Inexpensive and tasty dishes, good beer, what more can one ask for. Recommended.

I found this place because of TripAdvisor, otherwise I would never have come to this location. That being said; I have been here twice already. The first time there was a girl working as waiter, her English was more than decent and she was very...kind. The other time (during the day) there only was one person in the front, whom did not speak English so well. But he tried and for what he tried, he was very kind. Most important is food. The quality of the local cuisine is amazing. I really loved the minimalistic food, perfect portions and a perfect combination of flavors. I will come back more often for sure. Atmosphere is great, most customers are locals.More

We decided to go here because it was close to our hotel It was surprisingly a nice place! We read some review about how the waiters were rude but we can swear they were the kindest ever. The food was so good we had so...much We took two main dishes, one side dish, one dessert to share and 3 beers each. For a total of 650 corona!! The waiter helped us with the cash since we hadn't enough coronas with us so he accepted also euros, which was good because the atm is expansive and the change not good. Also the waitress was nice and smiling all the time. We hadmt wait too much for sitting and while we were waiting they brought us beers I would definetly recommend this restaurant!!More

Good service, but poor quality of food. The antrecote was too rare and the chicken was burnt. It was not worth the long ride to this side of the city. Good and reasonably priced beer though; then again, you can have good beer anywhere in...Prague.More

Great beer. You will not feel any additional spirits inside of it as well as hangovers. The prices are reasonable, so this is the perfect place to have a good lunch. Highly recommended.

This Bar/restaurant is about half a mile from the station going out of town and an easy walk. It is lovely. All dark wood and atmospheric. The couple that run the place are so friendly and efficient and speak good english. They made recommendations for...the local beers and food, which we followed. The pickled brie was amazing. My wife said it sounded awful, but ended eating half of mine and loved it. Had to have the pork knee (off the bone here) and I wasn't disappointed. Plentiful portions meant I ate sauerkraut with it, but failed to order a dessert. My wife's chicken with potato pancakes was good too. We had a lovely evening with plenty of beer and would definitely go again. Beer here costs about a third of the price in town. A cracker of a place.More
