We planned to dine outside on the square but the patio only took cash so we went inside to use Visa. Around 6 pm and restaurant nearly empty and bartender was also waiting on a couple of tables. After ordering drinks we ordered Jaeger Schnitzel and smoked meat filled potato dumplings. My wife loved the schnitzel and the meat filled dumplings were great served on a bed of sauerkraut and topped with grilled onions. We didn’t need to order the apple strudel with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream but we couldn’t help ourselves!
Nothing fancy here just good food and lots of it! The bill didn’t include a service charge so make sure you leave a tip/ only restaurant we ate at during nine day trip not to include service.

Horrible waiting staff.
When we came, my partner struggled to carry our child's pushchair down the steep staircase. A waiter just stood there and watched him closely, with no intention to help.
Later it was only worse. After we got served our lunch, the same waiter came to ask if everything was fine. I said that yes, but I would love some salad with my meal. He got visibly angry, turned back and cursed in cheque. Why bother asking then?
When the same waiter later brought us our bill, he had the nerve to ask us if we'd like to leave a tip. We refused. He was so upset that typed a wrong amount on the card reader and I had to pay twice (the wrong amount + the missing amount).
The food was OK, but nothing special.
I do not recommend this place.

Total scammers. Expensive food but very poor customer service. A dish of goulash is 18€, 0.50 L of wine (which was served too warm) is almost 14€! Zero politeness, zero customer service. They don't accept card under a certain amount. They make sure to scam you when it's time to pay the bill and they want your tips (I refused to give tips and the waiter got upset). Avoid this place, go somewhere else if you want to try Czech food.

Amazing food to tell the least. When you first look from the outside it doesn't feel like a good restaurant. But once you are inside and had the food you will change your mind for sure. The portions sizes are relatively big and super tasty. The service was also good. And the price is very reasonable. 6 of us had a meal here with some drinks and it cost us only around 90 euros. Restaurant is actually located at the lower floor. So there's no cell reception. But they have WiFi.

I had a Rizek, it was terrible. Like it was cooked in water. Soft, soggy, flavourless
The “mashed potato” was liquid with so much melted butter it was swimming
I lived in Czech for 5 years & this is the worst food I have ever had here
I hate to complain, but I felt I should. They were totally non cooperative and offered no discount

Excellent little diner offering Czech food. Our tour guide recommended this place and we will gladly echo her suggestion. It took a bit of time to receive our meal but it was fresh and hot.
The server was polite and spoke English very well. Oh, they also offer menus in English for those of us stuck in one language.

A fantastic find! We were a little sceptical at first, at the quirky and kitsch decor, but were pleasantly surprised with the fantastic service and amazing food. We went for the beef goulash and the chicken gnocchi, with a litre of beer to wash it all down. We visited at around 5pm, and the restaurant was very quiet, but this just ensured excellent and prompt service for us!
For a first meal in Prague, I would definitely recommend to visitors looking for a tucked away gem, off of the busy square.

This is outdoor right on the square so it has a great view. We went for the traditional Czech dishes. I had the 1/4 duck with red cabbage, dumplings and bread. My wife had lamb knuckle, mashed potatoes and creamed greens. Both were excellent. Service was great. Loved going there

Not the best dishes, too expensive. And check your bill before you pay- they cheat!!! They try not to show your bill at all- just tell the ammount you should pay.

We had a very good meal here. We sat outside on a lovely evening and watched the world go by. Service was gruff but efficient. A very nice experience right on the square.

This place draws many bad reviews, like some other traditional Czech restaurants in the area. That is sad. Because I love the old places that are NOT like home. I avoid the American owned places with Czech names for that reason. So when I saw this place, I was hoping to get a Czech pub-type experience with authentic Czech food and that is what I got. I loved it. Although, I think it helps to speak the language, I am so sorry for those who have been ripped off and/or treated badly. That is not at all Czech style and there's no excuse for that. What I can recommend is #1 - to not expect American-style service. They expect you to hang around a while. They do not always bring a bill until you tell them you are ready to pay. Sometimes its better to wait until waiter is at the bar/register than come up with money ready. #2- keep track of your what you spend and pay in Euros if its easier, they do take them. Tell the staff exactly what you plan to tip (5-10%) before they run your card if you are using one. #3- Be polite when you come in. Sometimes I do see people come in, in a loud, disrespectful manner. Czechs are really big on being greeted properly when you enter a room. I did witness 2 guys getting a "correction" from the waiter because they came in to use the bathroom without asking permission. He put them out just like the soup nazi, if you know what I mean. It's the same thing.... Good luck!
