I had a Rizek, it was terrible. Like it was cooked in water. Soft, soggy, flavourless The “mashed potato” was liquid with so much melted butter it was swimming I lived in Czech for 5 years & this is the worst food I have ever...had here I hate to complain, but I felt I should. They were totally non cooperative and offered no discountMore

This is outdoor right on the square so it has a great view. We went for the traditional Czech dishes. I had the 1/4 duck with red cabbage, dumplings and bread. My wife had lamb knuckle, mashed potatoes and creamed greens. Both were excellent. Service...was great. Loved going thereMore

Horrible waiting staff. When we came, my partner struggled to carry our child's pushchair down the steep staircase. A waiter just stood there and watched him closely, with no intention to help. Later it was only worse. After we got served our lunch, the same...waiter came to ask if everything was fine. I said that yes, but I would love some salad with my meal. He got visibly angry, turned back and cursed in cheque. Why bother asking then? When the same waiter later brought us our bill, he had the nerve to ask us if we'd like to leave a tip. We refused. He was so upset that typed a wrong amount on the card reader and I had to pay twice (the wrong amount + the missing amount). The food was OK, but nothing special. I do not recommend this place.More

Amazing food to tell the least. When you first look from the outside it doesn't feel like a good restaurant. But once you are inside and had the food you will change your mind for sure. The portions sizes are relatively big and super tasty....The service was also good. And the price is very reasonable. 6 of us had a meal here with some drinks and it cost us only around 90 euros. Restaurant is actually located at the lower floor. So there's no cell reception. But they have WiFi.More

This place draws many bad reviews, like some other traditional Czech restaurants in the area. That is sad. Because I love the old places that are NOT like home. I avoid the American owned places with Czech names for that reason. So when I saw...this place, I was hoping to get a Czech pub-type experience with authentic Czech food and that is what I got. I loved it. Although, I think it helps to speak the language, I am so sorry for those who have been ripped off and/or treated badly. That is not at all Czech style and there's no excuse for that. What I can recommend is #1 - to not expect American-style service. They expect you to hang around a while. They do not always bring a bill until you tell them you are ready to pay. Sometimes its better to wait until waiter is at the bar/register than come up with money ready. #2- keep track of your what you spend and pay in Euros if its easier, they do take them. Tell the staff exactly what you plan to tip (5-10%) before they run your card if you are using one. #3- Be polite when you come in. Sometimes I do see people come in, in a loud, disrespectful manner. Czechs are really big on being greeted properly when you enter a room. I did witness 2 guys getting a "correction" from the waiter because they came in to use the bathroom without asking permission. He put them out just like the soup nazi, if you know what I mean. It's the same thing.... Good luck!More

Delicious traditional food. The food was brought quickly and tasted better than expected. I can’t say a bad word about the restaurant. We all were happy about the choice and satisfied. Thank you!

Very arogant and impolite attitude from the waiters, no professional manner, attempts to cheat, languages - ridiculous combination of few words, and last but not least - rude, insulting and shouting to a woman! Below zero!

We ordered the Grilled Pork Knee on Dark Beer, Austro-Hungarian Beef Goulash, Potato Pacaces with Duck Meat. (Autumn Menu) and the Velkopopovicky Kozel Black Beer. We enjoyed the food and the overall experience. The only downside was the staff was not that approachable; perhaps it...was the language barriers.More

We arrived late in Prague due to our flight being delayed and wanted somewhere near to our hotel but also wanted to sample proper Czech food and we spotted this little place with outside seating in the 31 degree heat. It was quite busy but...managed to find a table for 4 and the waiter moved chairs for us and he was very polite. We wanted to sample the local food and the waiter helped us make up our choice and we all had a lovely meal. The service was a bit slow at first due to it being busy but as it slowed down the waiters could not have been more helpful and the food and beer were lovely. I have just read other reviews of this place and think that they just have been at a different place to me as we could not fault it. The only one thing was that we had to wait a while for our bill but in the end we just went up to the waiter and asked to pay. Every night we passed it always seemed busy and there was live local music inside the restaurant but we liked to sit outside and watch the world go by. Okay for a light meal and if you want to sample the local food and beer.More

Smoking over the food. Smelly waiters in need of a wash. Warm drinks. Overcharging the bill and then becoming aggressive. Probably one of the worst places I’ve had the displeasure of visiting-STAY WELL CLEAR!

This is a tourist trap!! There are off-course a lot of such restaurants in areas like this, but this one hits the target. Inspired by the menu we went in to have a table and we waited a considerable time before a waiter reacted on...us (proberly because we wern't young good looking ladies, which we could see got the full attention of all 3 waiters (middle aged men)) finally we got the food which where OK. when paying (again waiting) the waiter took the credit card and prepared the machine so only pin where missing, Pin was inserted and then he had chosen DKK instead CZK another way to get a bad exchange rate. Hope this help others to make their choise of place to eat, there are several other resturants in the area,More
