I found this place here on TA and this became our first stop after arriving on a bus from Munich in the afternoon. We were met at the door by a gentleman in a white shirt on 10 Sep 2022. I suggested a "milk beer"...for my friend but he kindly advised against it because it had to be drunk quickly and so inly frequent drinkers should try it. So I tried it, and you should too. It was amazing. Better than the Pilsner Urquell Milk beer to be honest. We wanted to return again for dinner but we had no reservation and we saw itbwas an hour's wait so instead, we decided to return for dinner on 11 Sep 2022. Again we had the gentleman in a white shirt for service. He doesn't smile much but he does have a sense of humour. When we asked for the bill, he asked if we wanted to split the bill and I said "No, altogether." As he walked away, he said "Whole restaurant ya?". Haha.. When his comment finally registered, I actually blurted out NO! lol... We had 2 wonderful meals in 2 days and we would like to thank this gentleman in the white shirt, for his kindness, wonderful service and for making our meals in Prague memorable ones! We never got your name, but I hope we meet again when we return to Prague. - from SingaporeMore

I came in wanting to dine with my girlfriend, I asked the waiter whether there was any table a bit more discreet (the ones that were in sight were extremely close to each other, so much so that you could literally grab food from a...stranger's dish) and the response I got was very rude.More

Plain and simple good-hearted food. Nothing fancy but it’s clean, the staff is friendly and the food is just super tasty. From steak to burgers and drinks...all delicious. It’s open late and honestly, it’s one of the best restaurants we went to in Prague. Pricing...is not expensive. I highly recommend you stop by for a bite.More

'Very nice local food, and almost all locals eating there. Nothing spectacular, but in truth, Czech cuisine isn't that spectacular to begin with...duck, pork, cabbage, potatoes. 'Nice, but you'd never compare it to French or Italian cuisine. But for a taste of good local food,...in a distinctly UNtouristy place, you couldn't do much better.More

We tried here on a whim and were not disappointed. There did not seem to be quite as many fluent English speaking staff here but they did a wonderful job of trying very hard. One of the few places we visited that had wonderful salads...on the menu. It has a little more of a pub feel than some of the others places we have visited. Although that allowed for a larger beer selection. The burger was one of the best I may have had anywhere in the world.More

Found this restaurant while out walking around town. Was not disappointed. Ordered steak tartar, pork cheeks with mash potatoes & cheesecake with salted caramel as deserts. It all tasted fantastic & the staff was really service minded & friendly. Had a great evening & can...strongly recommend. Can also strongly recommend the brandy that is made specifically for the restaurant. One of the best slivos I ever tasted!More

Our walk along the river front coincided with us seeing the upstairs terrace here and it looked wonderful. We decided to go in and it was as good as we hoped. It has excellent views overlooking the water and was packed with locals. The service...was still first-class though and they couldn’t do enough for us. Thankfully, they spoke great English and we had a real laugh with the waiting staff. They were keen to help and made recommendations for us. We already had a restaurant reservation so it was just drinks on this occasion but I would certainly go back to eat.More

This restaurant is a lovely place to visit if you would like to experience true Czech cuisine. It is one of the local spots so prices are very competitive too compared to some of the tourist centres. We had the beef in sauce with dumplings...and the ribs, which were both delicious. Definitely recommended if you want to experience local food!More

Great food. Each dish ordered was a delight. Stopped for a quick lunch with my family before we got on the train and my teenage boys ordered the chicken tagliatelle and the wings both of which were flavorful and good quantities. We definitely recommend it...was a wide variety in the menu and good beer too!! My husband and I had the pork neck steak and the gravy was so zesty.More

Excellent quality food and beer for a very reasonable price. Had the half roast duck (with all the Czech trimmings!), with a pint of local lager and a cup of tea afterwards, all for approximately £13.00! Atmosphere was reasonably lively and the staff were very...helpful and accommodating. There is a lack of green vegetables/salads on the menu, but upon request they were able to produce a side of green beans for us. Great place to visit for dinner if you want something away from the main tourist attractions.More

This great little restaurant was the location of our Welcome Dinner to Prague with our OAT travel leader, Vashek. We were seated quickly and served water and bread immediately. Directly following, our server took our drink orders. I ordered the Staropramen which is brewed by...this restaurant. It is one of the most popular throughout the Czech Republic. We had a fixed price menu that consisted of an excellent salad, chicken schnitzel with a sauce, and mashed potatoes. For dessert we had chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. We were offered coffee or tea at the end of the meal as well. The food was delicious. The salad was different than the typical American salad. It had tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and other veggies ... no lettuce. It had a very light dressing that was delicious. We had a group of eight at a long table, and the it was easy enough to hear everyone. The server looked to be about 12 years old, but I am sure that is just me getting old! The service was excellent. I was highly satisfied and would definitely recommend the place.More
