After being unable to go to a reservation at another place, we ended up here...and we’re glad we did! My mother and her husband had the steak for 2 and said it was cooked perfectly. They thought it was one of their best meals in Prague! I had the burger and it was big and delicious. It’s definitely not a cheap place, but they said it was worth every penny. The server was also extremely nice, and they were able to squeeze us in last minute on Xmas day, which was great!

My husband and I ate here in January. We arrived at the restaurant with no reservation, and a lovely waitress showed us to a table away from the main restaurant area. The table was perfect for us as it was quiet, but yet you could hear all the bustle from the main area. We had the pork terrine to start, then for main I had the New York strip loon and my husband had a T-bone steak, both cooked to perfection (medium rare). We had chips to accompany this and at last minute requested a salad, which was no problem at all. We both had lovely red wine to drink with our steaks. Then we also had 2 beautiful desserts and my husband had a dessert wine. The staff where lovely and very attentive and informative. It was pricey but for the fresh food that is full flavour, this outweighs the price! Would have no problem eating here again

We had amazing bone marrow and a fine tomahawk steak. It was aged and cooked perfectly, but it was still a bit too tough and chewy. I will rather go for a ribeye if I come back here in the future. The staff is very friendly and helpful, make you feel like at home.

I take good care of reviewing the restaurants I visit when traveling to a new city, almost never disappointed. This time I got tricked with the Michelin and the reviews. The service was very rude and un helpful, we had the local beef on a mignon fillet and a burger. The mignon was dry and chewy didn’t even had a side dish unless paying way more for it. Definitely not recommended. Way to expensive for that quality. Also ordered the burger, it was good, enough for any half priced restaurant in Prague, definitely not expected for a Michelin recommendation. Overall a total failure. Probably just my experience in holy Friday.

We had the pleasure of dining at Monarch during our stay in Prague. The restaurant it self is very charming and well decorated. The service is quite good and the wine list is great ! Lots of good choices. We absolutely loved the tartare and carpaccio starters, very tender meat and well prepared. The main courses we’re very good but maybe lacking a little “something more” in the preparation of the meat. Great desert. Over all a good dining experience in Prague but a little bit pricey. Recommended if you are a meat lover !

We just don`t understand all the good reviews for this place. I am Norwegian and used to high prices, but the prices on this restaurant are just insane. The far cheapest on the menu is a burger, and that costs almost 20 euros, which is close to what you have to pay in Norway. A t-bone steak costs close to 50 euros, and that is just wild (and I am not even sure if side dishes are included in that price).. The wine prices are also sky high. I think the average price for a bottle of wine is more than 150 euros, and it was difficult to find wines that costed less than 40 euros. Probably a lot of great wines, but still.. I must also mention that we asked to have the burger medium done, but it was almost totally raw. Not worth the money, not by far.

The restaurant was quiet on a Wednesday evening with the expected result that the service was attentive and informative. We picked our mains and then I moved on to my choice of wine. I said I’d like a Rioja and flicked to the page on the wine menu while the waitress recommended one which was a whooping €350. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing and understandably I declined. I chose a moderately priced Rioja and again she attempted to “guide” me towards a more expensive one. I declined and stuck with my original request. The food was delicious but the interaction with the waitress left a very sour taste in my mouth. Frankly, I was annoyed. I appreciate that restaurants make significant profits on alcohol but recommending a wine for €350 is breathtakingly greedy. What if, as a tourist, I’d misunderstood as it was in Czech Koruna and I had accepted her advice? Tread carefully if you’re of more moderate means.

Terrible Steak! We took the dry aged prime rib-eye which considered the best kind of meat in this restaurant. It was super dry and we ate like 50 grams from the 400 grams. The wine and the service was great and because of it I gave 2 stars instead of 1. We paid 3200 KC for wine,French fries, carpaccio and the steak - I felt like someone stole money from my pocket.

We were a group of friends visiting prague for the weekend and were recommended to visit Monarch by a friend. We had the most amazing time! We shared the USDA tasting platter for 4 people and had a Chateau neuf du Pape from 2007. The Meat was perfectly cooked and probably some of the best we've ever had! The wine was perfect with the food. Out waiter Monica was a joy and made us feel so welcome! All in all a great experience that I could recommend to anyone!

This an excellent location for beef lovers, the hostess’s was exceptional providing details of where the cattle are reared. I purchased the burger which was delicious and highly recommended with which tasted like triple fried chips. Great service, great experience.

Our experience at monarch was very mediocre. A fine dry aged ribeye steak (with a lot of silverskin unchewable parts) Their tartare on the other hand was amazing. Sauce and fries were good too Overall a good experience, but not worth the super high prices

There were 3 of us that went to dinner at this restaurant. We ordered 2 cocktails and a glass of red wine. All drink were good. For appetizer we got leak soup and carrots. I would say they were both good but nothing to rave about. Bread they served wasn’t very good. For dinner I ordered shrimps. Shrimps were cooked good and they came with a appetizing mango salsa. My son ordered the U.S prime dry aged bone-in ribeye, and enjoyed it. The steak was a bit too salty, but overall there was else nothing to complain about. Good portion for one person, and overall a solid steak.

Our last night of being in Prague with so much choice, it’s difficult to know but we chose well. An exceptionally good restaurant with wonderful front of house staff who kept us really entertained and well looked after. Patricie was very attentive and engaging with a lovely smile and worked hard to keep us topped up with delicious top quality local wine. The food was prepared to a high standard and presentation. We accepted the recommendation of seabass and couldn’t have been more pleased. Our starters were accompanied by salted bread rolls which were ideal for soaking up the pea purée sauce. Pudding which included gingerbread ice cream was delicious, all in all a great evening. And a lovely memory. Thanks to all who made it that way.

I know Prague is a bit of a culinary Desert, but is this truly the best they can do. TBF the steaks were very nice, if a bit over salted. But the staff are of hand and how can they charge £2 for Ketchup when the bill is £200 There must be better and cheaper…,Avoid.

We had a great experience. First Iveta our wetress was very kind and gave me excellent advice to choose my meat regarding my taste. Then the service was great and meat perfectly cooked. And to finish the wine list is amazing! A international and faboulus choice with rare references at very affordable prices. We can see that this restaurant is for real food and wine lovers who are sharing a common passion. Thank you! We will come back!

One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
