Nice small restaurant which looks like a Czech pub on the surface, if a bit fancier, but really isn’t. The menu is quite short with few traditional Czech options, but lots of variety. The beer is excellent (try the postrizinska if it’s on) the wine less exciting despite their separate wine list. The food is all good and not expensive and the service is quick and friendly. This place can get full, so book if you want to be sure.

traditional czech dishes, a bit to greasy, but fine with cold beer and a schnaps after. would be better for a group of man hanging out, rather than a family, which was our case

Visited the place two times. First time just to drink, second time to eat.
Ok place, food ok, prices good, staff quite uninterested.

We waited very long time for our meals (more than 40 minutes) and when we ask about it - we were very unpleasantly informed that we have to wait. No apology, nothing. Food ok but nothing special. Unfortunately - never again.

My first day in Prague I went here to eat for lunch. I was invited by cheap prices and a huge menu, both in Chechz and in English.
My hopes was so satisfied that I returned 2 times more.
Me and my girlfriend have eaten here: soup, meat with mushrooms, stroganoff and other tipical dishes and WAS AMAZING!
We spent from 12 to 16 € FOR 2 PEOPLE!
Incredible... I'm literally without words to describe their cooking level, kindly as staff, cute as place and good the time spent there.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

In the Vinohrad district there are many dining choices; sometimes you have to follow your nose. Luchna Samota had a welcoming look to it and turned out to be the best surprise of our two week stay. The guests were mainly local, always a good sign, and the friendly service and English menu enabled us to share the fun. We were not hungry, having had a very good lunch, but we enjoyed everything we tried. The humble cabbage soup was an absolute delight, and the sausage in dark beer sauce was excellent.

Cannot recommend Hlucna Samota highly enough. Just round the corner from our hotel (The Ametyst), this bar/restaurant offers a varied menu of local and world dishes. I went for a burger (excellent) and my wife had a lovely stuffed chicken. Good service and very reasonable at £28 for the two of us including drinks.

We stayed in Prague for 3 nights and popped into the Hlucna Samota twice. Food was of a high quality and great value for money. Atmosphere was buzzing, service was also good and with English not being the first language, the staff were friendly and helpful - all added to an excellent night out.

This place was a great surprise. Me and my boyfriend have been here twice during our 5-days-stay in Prague, because we really enjoyed the delicious food and the courtesy of the personnel that we found on our first dinner. We just loved our dishes and I regret that I didn't ask for the recipe!
In my personal opinion this was the restaurant were I had the best meal in Prague.

The place itself is very nice and I have been there many times. I would go there again but you have to check who is the Waitress. There is one elderly blond woman and she is very rude, aggressive, lazy, slow (we were waiting around 30 minutes just for the beer) and she cheats on everyone. So in case, you want to go there and you will see the BLOND WAITRESS, just turn on the heel and find another pub because you do not want to spend your time waiting and in the end arguing with this person. You have enough pubs nearby.

This place was close to our hotel so very convenient. It was very busy when we arrived, in fact we got the last table which was in the bar area, so a bit chilly every time someone went in and out. The waitress was a bit off-hand, but the waiter who served us was charming. The wine was good and reasonably priced. After our previous experience where we couldn't eat all the food, we opted for one course! My husband had the pork schnitzel and I had a pork chop. Both were excellent. We would have eaten there again the following night, but they were closed for a private Christmas party.

If you go to a restaurant for the service, this is not the place for you. They can be cheery, but more often then not the staff honours the Czech tradition of not oversharing their emotions with the guests. And hey, the beer is only OK.
Yet it still gets five stars - for the simple reason it's still by far the best food I've found in Prague - and I've probably tried most things in the menu by now. Oh, and it's named after one of my favourite novels - Too Loud a Solitude, with a bit of Hrabal on the walls.

Vinohrady & Vršovice
Compared to the medieval heart of Prague, this neighborhood standing on former vineyards developed very quickly in the first decades of the 19th century. Today, it is the place where everyone wants to live, and those who do, are proud of it. With its amazing parks, classicist houses, terrace cafés, artsy bars, cozy restaurants, markets, and vintage and trendy shops, it is a home for people from all around the world. This area blends expats, families, bohemian students and Prague’s hip community. It is a great place for breakfast in the morning, the best lunch places and a buzzing night life. After sundown, stroll down to Vršovice, the new center of the hipster, alternative and gay scenes in Prague.
