Great location. Attentive waiter service. Food is very good but not outstanding and probably a little on the expensive side but overall a nice experience until the waiter asked if we wanted to leave him a tip over and above the 10% service charge we...had already left which was around £15. He said that goes to the restaurant. I find it hard to believe the tips would not be shared out amongst the staff at such an establishment. If not what is the service charge for?! When we said we were happy to pay the 10% service charge his whole attitude changed and he became very aloof and sulky. This soured the experience and I wouldn’t go back or recommend this restaurant to anyone. Our bill came to £140 for 3 courses, 2 shorts with tonic, 1 small glass of wine (£12!) and bottle of sparkling water so not cheap but had we not had such a bad experience with the waiter we would have had a thoroughly good time. Shame really but I had read a similar review and hesitated at booking initially so obviously this is a regular occurrence. The rating reflects the waiter’s attitude not the food or location.More

We sat on the terrace as the location is beautiful. We ordered a few drinks foolishly without checking the price upfront. On the other hand, we could not have suspected that this place charges for a very average Czech red wine 340 kc per glass...- normally this wine is sold in Prague restaurants at 340 kc for the bottle. I attach the bill where you can see we paid 105.2 euro for 3 glasses of red wine three glasses ov average Pinot Grigio 3 grappas and 3 waters. Pls note this place applies a 22 crowns per euro exchange rate - the official rate is 25.7 crowns so a nice 15% surcharge. It explains why this restaurant is always empty. Go somewhere else!!More

We had our wedding reception there with dozens of invitees. Set up, location, support from the staff, service was impeccable. Good food, nice wine (maybe you would except more Italian choices in a place of that level) The location is incredibly nice, with a fantastic...garden including pieces of art and breathtaking view on Viserad. Also great for photos opportunities. Also it’s in a quiet area, outside of common routes of tourist and even most locals don’t know about it. Everybody will be happy and surprised, you will be happy except a little moment when it’s time to pay. Yes it’s a bit expensive but money comes and goes, good memories stayMore

This is the bill for Christmas day and price was unbelievably expensive . The food is good but such a high price it is not reasonable . You should be careful when you decide!!! Champagne is not offered in starting menu and they tried to...put all the charges as much as they can.More

So much hope for a nice evening I had when I entered the beautiful location of the Bastion Prague Restaurant. And how quickly I was disappointed when we came there for our company event and the staff didn’t want to serve us even with a...glass of water from the tap. 6 staff guys ignoring my questions if I could have a beer and not even looking at me. Felt like in a communist period where people rather ignore you than try to serve you well. It was very clear the staff had been instructed by their boss to make us to drink wine instead of beer, because for the first hour there was no beer. When I tried the wine, it became clear to me why: this must have been some of the cheapest wines ever to be found. Food was not much better. Just a very bad experience unfortunately. If you don’t have to necessarily go here, don’t go 😊. Better to have a sausage with bread and beer at Wenceslas square, not joking…More

We came for a company event and this was just a disaster.... Worse service I have ever seen in Prague. Staff very arrogant and unfriendly. We got the cheapest wine ever.. just undrinkable. Food was terrible.. The manager just tried to maximize the profits by...providing cheap food & drinks. Just dont go there...unless its to enjoy the view.More

Restaurant has great views. Good location for special events. That is all this restaurant is good for. The service was below average. Everything on the pricey side. The food is very very ordinary. My fish was really really small and quite dry. Am just glad...I have been there as an invited guest. Not coming back here when we are back in Prague though.More

We did a walk to vysehrad and followed the old wall up past the gardens to Bastion. It was late lunchtime and no one else was in the restaurant. Sure, it’s not a typical cheap Prague restaurant, but the drinks were still well priced. We...chose appetizers for a light lunch to share and they were EXCELLENT. Ravioli and the salad had some of the loveliest flavors I’ve tasted. The waiter and chef were extremely hospitable, enjoyed a chat and kindly provided my wife a rose at the end of lunch. Include a beer and a champagne, it was 60 Euro, so yer, not cheap, but for the quality of the meals, the restaurant position and the champagne, very good value.More
