My partner found this bistro via an online recommendation and booked a table for us for dinner on our first night in Karlin; what a find! We started with the smoked salmon rillettes which were delicious, and for the main, Moses had Bob's BBQ Combo...which contained the most beautifully cooked brisket we'd ever tasted, and I had the white pudding with potato puree and sauerkraut; this was also yum. The wine and beer were tasty too, and the dessert was fantastic; Krystalcake - this was possibly one of the nicest desserts we've experienced in some time - a light cottage cheese filling which topped a chocolate crumbly base and a dark chocolate glaze on the very top - it was light, scrumptious and very moreish. The staff were friendly and helpful and the whole place had a welcoming atmosphere. If you're in Prague, this bistro is well worth a visit - we highly recommend it to all 👍More
I got a tip to visit Krystal Bistro for the plum dumplings. They were great! So great that I went back for a second visit. The second night they had blueberry dumplings, which were every bit as wonderful! Great food, nice staff, everyone speaks English...very well -- You won't be disappointed!More
We were given the suggestion to try here by our air BnB hosts. Being a Saturday night I expected it to be busy so booked online. When we arrived it was very quiet. Throughout the night more customers arrived but still not busy at all....Waiters were great and spoke to us in English.
I had the confit duck with lentils and potatoes which was delicious, though quite salty. My partner had the beef burger which he really enjoyed too.
Nice night while in Prague!More
On a short break in Prague I found the Krystal Bisto virtually across the road from the hotel where I was staying
Although there was a lengthy a la carte menu I opted for the daily specials chalked up on a board
A starter of...snails, a little chewy for my liking, was followed by an exquisite venison dish. Perfectly cooked and a picture on a plate with an assortment of vegetables
It was also good to see a celebration of the Beaujolais Nouveau (whatever happened to that in the UK?) I sampled a couple of glasses but was disappointed at the small amount of wine in each moderately sized glass
Services was efficient. Also seemed to be plenty of locals dining here – usually a good sign!More
Dumplings delight. Stopped in for a morning coffee, all items on diners’ tables looked tasty. Not hungry but ordered a modest little dumpling, which turned into a generous portion of three just prepared light and yeasty dumplings filled with fresh cheese and adorned with poppy...seed, cream and delicious jam. Sometimes one dish is enough to form a conclusion. Worth a stop in Karlin.More
I was really expecting to have a great meal given the reviews on Trip advisor. I ordered the lunch special with mixed results. The baked potato salad was absolutely delicious. It was served lukewarm (which was fine), was creamy with a tangy zing to it,...and had scallions and little crispy pieces of bacon. It was sooooo good. There were two large pieces of veal liver cooked perfectly medium rare. BUT there was no seasoning at all on the liver, not even salt or pepper and no sauce or any kind or topping. I like liver, but this was so bland, all I could taste was the gamey natural base liver. I could not even finish one of the pieces. A mustard sauce or something with a strong fruit flavor would have been idyllic. My husband had the turkey salad and said it was fine, but nothing memorable. The beers were both great.More
You will be surprised how good place it is if you judge it just from outside - it looks like nothing interesting. But food is perfect and service is nice as well. If you are around Krizikova metro station - you will not make a...mistake.More
