Very good local restaurant, great food and good service. We recommend this place. We eat czech specialitet garlic soup with cheese and it was delicious in our winter vacation, we also recommend for warmin up slivovitza.

My twin brother and I were pub hopping around the wonderful Zizkov district of Prague when we decided to drop into Planeta Zizkov ,been here before on previous holidays to Prague, always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit.
I love the look of this pub its very traditional, a cool looking serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings, big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling Zizkov streets.
We were here on a Friday afternoon, we were greeted and seated by a very pleasant member of the bar team, we ordered pints of beer from Pilsner Urquell Brewery, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and with the distinctive foamy head so characteristic of the way Czech beer is poured,for our meal we both opted to have fried cheese ( smazeny syr ) with fries and a bowl of bread, a short wait and our meals arrived and what a great treat.
Fried cheese was absolutely amazing, proper stick to your ribs food ,fries were delicious and bread totally fresh and all washed down by classic Czech pilsner beers.
We really enjoyed our meals and beers in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to Planeta Zizkov we had a great time.
Planeta Zizkov is easy to locate along Tachovske Namesti.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Thursday, 11am till midnight.
Friday & Saturday, 11am till 1am.
Sunday ,11am till midnight.
Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

This is a lovely neighbourhood bar/restaurant which is also very welcoming to tourists. Last week was the third occasion on which I've visited this place and the staff were very friendly and helpful, speaking more than adequate English to counter my inadequate Czech. The beer is great, the food is excellent and good value and this place is about as far away from the tourist traps of the city centre as you can get. My friends and I had a wonderful time here. Strongly recommended.

Located by the famous Zizkov- Karlin Tunnel is Planeta Zizkov ,a great locals pub I always look forward to visiting on any trip to Prague I take.
I love the look of this pub ,an eye catching serving bar dominates the main room,great decor and furnishings, nice wall art, tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling streets around this pub.
We were here on a Wednesday night, pub was busy with a great atmosphere, we ordered beers from Pilsner Urquell Brewery, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and with the distinctive foamy head so characteristic of the way Czech beer is poured and served, we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in, this is one of the most famous pubs in the Zizkov District, beer served here is always good, it's a great local hangout.
My beer was really good, a light, hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste, very easy to drink, a beer style both myself and my twin brother Stephen are particularly fond of, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a freezing cold beer.
We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time.
Planeta Zizkov is easy to locate along Tachovske Namesti.

Ribs came in hot with dancing worms in the salad, imagine what is the state of their kitchen. 3x ribs all with worms, the waiter was so flabbergasted he had no words for us, so we told him we won’t pay and walked out. I got a video, but i can’t add it on here so the photo has to be enough for you not to go there.

Hello, don’t worry, our kitchen is just right, hygiene authority approved. Salads were fresh that day, those creatures were caterpillars brought to the restaurant with the salad probably right from the supplier. But that goes all the way after the cook. Should have washed them properly. We are really sorry this happened, we will definitely change the procedure of preparing the salads and remove them as add ons to ribs. Regards, team Planeta

Many of the dishes shown on the web here are not at all. I drank two dishes without after the maid gave the beer directly up, and did not ask me now if I want a beer. It is clear that he was afraid that I didn't want to eat because I didn't want to go away, it felt bad, I wanted something else, just didn't touch. Being polite just drank that beer.

Located in Prague 3, in a small square near the tunnel to the station, with very comfortable outdoor tables. We stopped several times for a drink and eventually to eat. Excellent quality and moderate prices. IT DESERVES

Planeta Žìžkov on Tachovské Náměsti is an excellent pub and restaurant that offer's a fantastic food and drinks range and was a brilliant place to visit in this superb area of Prague.
Located in Žìžkov'this superb pub is one of the many pubs/bars and restaurants in the Žìžkov area and one of the most local and is a real joy to go to.Located by the Žìžkov tunnel that connect's Žìžkov and Karlín'this fantastic pub has a traditional pub interior with nice decor and furnishings and plenty of good seating areas throughout the pub interior.
A great place to watch sport and when me and my twin brother where here fairly early in the afternoon it was really busy.When we visited we had a few pint's of beer from the Pilsner Urquell brewery which were brilliant and were really well priced.This is a superb pub and restaurant in a fantastic area and easy to get to from Tachovské Náměsti bus stop it's just a short walk.(This is my second review of Planeta Žìžkov).

My twin brother Stephen and I were in Prague for a ten day holiday in the run up to Christmas ,we visited the eclectic Zizkov District a couple of times during our holiday ,love it here ,one of my favourite pubs here is Planeta Zizkov ,always had a great time in here and so it proved on our latest visit .
Located by the famous Zizkov - Karlin Tunnel ,I love the look of this pub ,the interior is so traditional ,a cool decorative scheme ,lots of clocks on the walls ,music related posters ,a cool looking serving bar , tv's to enjoy the sport and lots of seating options both inside and when the weather is good outside looking out onto the busy and bustling streets that make up the Zizkov District.
My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a bitterly cold and snowy Thursday night ,this pub was warm with a great atmosphere ,we ordered and were served beers from Pilsner Urquell Brewery ,poured in the perfect condition ,iced cold and sparkling and with the big foamy head so beloved by the Czech's ( and myself ) ,we chilled out ,warmed up and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub while sipping our beers.
I am a big fan of this famous Czech beer ,golden ,light,hoppy and bursting with taste ,when this beer is served freezing cold as in this pub it's such a delicious beer indeed,it was just so good being in such a great pub enjoying a fantastic beer and sat with my twin brother Stephen ,the best beer companion in the world.
We really enjoyed our beers in here and the great vibe so much so that we stayed for another beer each and a becherovka each before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a wonderful beer experience .

I visited this place only because it was around the corner from my hostel, I have to say I was surprised, the goulash was delicious and tender as was the Czech pilsner, both were at a great low price, and I only meant to pop in for a quick lunch and found myself staying for a few more pints before heading into the city centre, and it helped that staff were friendly also. This place is proof that even outside the main centre Prague still had good bars.
