Wonderful service, fantastic food , felt Welcome the moment I walked through their door, would certainly come back. They had a menu with dishes I would try one and all, chose two ,and they were great.

The restaurant is not easy to find, hidden in a small alley with stairs down which lead to it. It is however worth all the work to get to it. The menu is not extensive but the quality is high. We were here with our...kids, age 9 and 11 and everyone found something to their fancy. I had grill octopus and it was cooked to perfection which is quite difficult since it is easily overcooked and become rubbery. The kitchen most likely makes everything from scratch and knows each ingredient used so we didn't have any problems with food allergies. Service was good and the waitress offered to take family pictures for us volunteerily, which is highly appreciated. We had a wonderful lunch here. Highly recommend a visit here. And we will definitely come back here again whenever we are in Prague.More

One of the most tasty dinners in Prague. Sadly the menu doesn't offer many choices - there are just two desserts and in the evening we ate there only one was available. The waiter was nice but too slow even if we were just 7...in the whole restaurant, maybe disorganized?More

Really good food at a really affordable price. The service is friendly and down to earth. Music was a little loud but I came a little early. Definitely a place I can recommend in a wasteland of tourist traps.

Tucked away down a flight of stairs off Lorenskáyá street in Prague, not too far from Prague Castle, you will find a small gem of a restaurant called hOST. By day you will have a view of the city and by night see the lights...of the city including the many illuminated churches. The restaurant is intimate so reservations are recommended. The food and service were both first class, with creative accompaniments to the main items. Between us we had foie gras, salmon, and duck breast. All were prepared well with interesting accompaniments adding both flavour and texture. The service was attentive, friendly, and in English (we speak no Czech), and the prices reasonable. All in all highly recommended and well-worth seeking out.More

We were ignored on arrival even though there was only one other couple there. We were sat next to them and asked to move to the corner table. The waitress said no as we were only four people and that table was for five! The...couple moved away from us and sat in easy chairs! The waitress was abrupt, got our order wrong and even allowing for language differences, made no effort. The duck was over cooked, the steak chewy and the risotto was fried rice. She wrote on an extra service charge which we didn’t appreciate. A very expensive meal ruined by bad service even though we were the only people in the restaurant.More

We found this restaurant by accident but had seen reviews which recommended the food and views. It was a good time to stop for lunch so we decided it looked an ideal choice. The waitress sat us at the table nearest the door, which was...next to the only other people dining there. No view from these tables! The food was good and a fair price, not cheap but the service charge was added on and also rounded up - service did not merit this. Just before we left another couple came in and were given a table with a view at the opposite end of the room from us!? Basically the price of food and the inconsistent service left us feeling a little disappointed. The steps down the side of Host, lead to the road below where the view is just as good, unlimited and free.More

This hotel was close to our hotel and was a real find. It was a quite night and we enjoyed a lovely tasty meal with lovely views. It's not super cheap but the price was fair for the quality. I WAS surprised to receive the...bill with a compulsory 10% service charge stamped on it - and the amount charges was actually more than 10%. My understanding is that tipping in Prague is not compulsory but we always did so unless the menu specifies that service is included or that there is a compulsory charge. To my memory there was no such statement which did mean that a lovely night was juts ...OK. Howeverthat all being said - we would go back and we would recommend it if you were staying in the area - just be aware of the charge.More

This restaurant was cute hidden gem. We accidentally stumbled across this and loved it. We all had the dumpling special for lunch. To our surprise it also came with a piece of apple strudel that was amazing. Would definitelyrecommend this hidden spot. Great view of...the city.More

I was in a restaurant with my wife. we went there only because the restaurant had a good view to old Prague. On the enterance the waitress said that the kitchen was no longer working (20.15 pm), only the bar was open. Okay - we...will just drink hot wine. We wanted to sit by the window, but the waitress said that those places are only for visitors who eat (wtf?). and there two people really finished the meal. We were invited to sit at another table away from the window and without a good view. ok .. She bring wine, and 4 people come in (two pairs). The waitress informs them that the kitchen is not working and they can to drink. They agreed and the waiter sits them on the places we wanted to sit in - the cafe area by the window, where there were 3 empty tables. Why can they sit by the window and drink coffee / wine, but we should take another seat in the corner?? I did not leave a tip, but this does not compare with the marginalization that I felt. And by the way, she did not light the candle on the table - I had to do it on my own. PS. We looked neat and good, we are about 30 years old, we were not drunk.More

The restaurant featured prominently in our guide and we should have skipped as our expectations were too high. We made a reservation and that is quite necessary as the place is small with some 10 tables. The view is superb. We had the pears in...red wine with blue cheese which was a revelation. The goat cheese on beetroot was rather bland. The goulash was tasty with dumplings and red cabbage. Classy. The dessert was good. Unfortunately, we had started dinner late - we are advised beforehand that the last order has to come in by 10 pm - but while we were still eating, the waitress cleaned the table next to us with a pungent liquid which was very annoying. Later she cleaned the bathrooms while leaving the door open. Instead of enjoying the food, we could not help but watch and smell the cleaning process. We found it expensive -especially when the waitress adds a 10% service charge. I suppose you have to encourage cleanliness.More

Visited for an anniversary meal. Booked in advance but on arrival found it very quiet. ( only one other couple) Warm, friendly welcome & nice partial views of the city from our table. Waiting staff very friendly & efficient. The food, starters, mains & desserts...were in or opinion, outstanding. ( hats off to the chefs) The price tag for food & drink was not the cheapest & far from being the most expensive in Prague. In our opinion we had a very good experience & would not hesitate to recommend. Thanks to all the staff!More
