This restaurant was recommended by our tour guide. He made the reservations and arranged a car service for us to and from the hotel. It was a truly unique experience and we are so pleased we did this rather than join the group for dinner....This was the perfect place to experience local food and folks; others at tables were ready to engage in conversation without being disruptive. Service was exceptional. The dining room was tiny; a good reason to get reservations. There was an outdoor area but it was not good for the night we were there; it was raining. We started with a regional sparkling wine that came in a small bottle. We got one each. We ordered salads to start. Our entrees were good but actually mine was overcooked but still good. We had local wine with dinner. All in all it was a very good evening. We thank the staff for the great evening.More

We very much enjoyed our dinner here. The service was excellent and our server was so pleasant and helpful. They do have a "suggested tip" when the bill arrives and we felt the service deserved the amount requested. You will find white tablecloths and lovely...booths here for a comfortable, refined setting. Food was traditional, delicious and my pork wrapped in potato pancake was a super hit. Many of the main dishes are a la carte, so you can add the type of dumplings and/or vegetables. The beer selection was very good. We did have a reservation when we arrived, made by our hotel for us, and reserving ahead is recommended in Prague. All in all, a lovely evening.More

This restaurant was recommended to us because it belongs to a woman who formerly cooked for the Czech president. It has a very nice courtyard (which was too chilly for us at night) and a cozy interior. No frills. I had the goulash (different everywhere...I tried it!) which was delicious although a tad oversalted for my taste, and potato pancakes. I'm used to a thinner, lighter pancake and these were thick - still good! My husband had pork tenderloin with mushroom sauce and liked it very much. Good Pilsner! but I wish they had a larger wine list... pretty much one white and one red.More

we had been in prague several days and were full of good beer and the delicious czech food. someone on the tour told us of this tiny, quiet restaurant they stumbled on. with their instructions backed up with google maps, we found it, a 12-15...minute walk from our hotel near wenceslas square. we went rather early around 6p without reservations. all the tables inside but one had a reserved sign. it has a small outside space but we chose inside with the comfortable chairs/booth, white napery and well stocked bar with affordable italian wine. the entrees are varied. my friend said the duck leg was delicious. i opted for an almost vegetarian option and was not disappointed. the grilled veggies were nicely charred, the cabbage soup tasted like a homemade vegetable with a little meat, do not let the word cabbage dissuade you. i do not eat it in any form, but this was completely disguised in the bowl of goodness. the apple strudel was not the flaky viennese kind but delicious. it is still reasonable compared to any big U.S. my meal of soup, veggies and 2 glasses of very nice sauvignon blanc was $32. be certain to check your bill. the tip was included in my total. we were there sept 10. the one female server did not speak much english, but the menu has an english line for each dish.More

Four of us visited this restaurant on two occasions. The wait staff were cheerful, helpful, courteous and efficient. The genre was Czech. The menu was varied and would suit most tastes. One of us ordered the duck and cranberry sauce. She was impressed and ordered...the same thing on the second visit. Another ordered pork medallions wrapped in potato pancake. He reported the meal as heavy and somewhat tasteless. Maybe more suited to a different palate. Another ordered a pork schnitzel. She still speaks highly of it. We visited a second time. The pork in potato pancakes was replaced with a lighter pork dish. To sum this up, we loved the food, enjoyed the al fresco setting, and luxuriated in the service. The prices were reasonable. There is nothing more to say than "try iy your self".More

Very good food and great service. We came without reservation and it was full but they invited us in anyway and made space for us.

We were referred by the people at the Radissonblu where we were staying. Two short blocks to the restaurant. They referred a large number of people so we filled the restaurant and they were a bit overwhelmed. But the one server ( only saw one...the whole time) worked very hard. We took a whole room with 10 people and they managed to get us all served in a little longer than normal. The food was traditional Czech and very high quality. I would not go out of the way to make this a destination, but location for us worked well.More
