My twin brother Stephen and I were exploring around the wonderful New Town ( Nove Mesto ) and decided to drop into one of our favourite pubs in this district namely Krcma U Parasutistu . This is a great locals pub ,been here many times...over many years, the interior is superb ,an eye catching serving bar ,pubby decor and furnishings ,chunky wooden tables and chairs and Great Wall art relating to World War II ,in fact practically adjacent to this pub is St Cyril And Methodist Cathedral ,after the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich in June of 1942 this is were the Czech paratroopers made their last stand in the basement of the cellar ,there's a plaque and shrine to these hero's on the cathedral walls. We were here on a Friday afternoon,a very hot afternoon,we ordered beers from Pilsner Urquell Brewery ,these were served in pristine condition being iced cold and sparkling and with the distinctive foamy head so beloved by the Czech's. My beer was really good,a light ,hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste and very easy to drink,it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality beer . We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. Krcma U Parasutistu is easy to locate along Resslova. Opening hours are; Monday to Friday, open from 11.30am. Saturday, open from midday. Sunday, closed. A great pub, well worth checking out if you're in the area.More

Krčma U Parašutìstů on Resslova is a really local restaurant and pub that offers a very good Czech food range and a really good range of local beers and drinks. This brilliant restaurant and pub is as local as it gets and look's no different...from when we first visited here years ago.It has lots of interesting fixtures and features relating to WW11 and Czech beer's and with fantastic seating options throughout the restaurant and pub's multi-roomed interior it's a great place to relax and unwind for a meal or a couple of beers. Over the years we have had superb Czech meals and beer's in here which are alway's well priced snd superb. On this occasion to here we only had a few local Czech beer's which were perfectly served and very well priced. This is an historic restaurant and pub thats well worth visiting and really easy to locate from Jìráskovo Náměsti tram stop it's a few minute's walk.(This is my first review of the Krčma U Parašustìstů). Opening Hours. Monday-Saturday-11.30-22.00. Saturday-12.00-22.00. Sunday-Closed. Public Transport. Bus Stop. Jìráskovo Náměsti bus stop. Tram stop. Jìráskovo Náměsti tram stop.More

Friendly and busy local pub. It is named after the paratroopers that assassinated Heydrich , the "Butcher of Prague", during the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia in WWII. The pub is on the same street as the church where the paratroopers were murdered in retaliation for...the death of Heydrich. After the church and museum visit we stopped by for sausage and beer.More

We had couple beers at this krcma. I ordered dark “Kozel” 10 % alcohol for me and 11% Light “Gabrinus” for my wife. Service was professional and helpful. Place is very interesting and unusual. Price was ok. Beers were exceptionally tasty.

I visited here with my partner, after stumbling across it whilst en route to the Horror Bar. Upon arrival the place was packed not a seat spare! Which is always a good sign, however the bartender managed to squeeze us in. It’s a cozy place...full of WW2 memorabilia. He was very polite and we ordered one starter between us which was huge! I would go as far to say it’s the best sausage I’ve ever ate. we had two traditional Czech main meals which were both fantastic. Portion sizes were huge also. Good food, good beer and good service. All for very cheap! Highly recommend.More

Visited at lunch time for a drink, was served promptly and courteously and made welcome by the one man serving. I felt a bit sorry for him as he seemed to be doing it all himself. The only problem was the pub isn't the largest...and by the time I left it was full. One table was reserved so its possible you could do this if you wanted. I will visit again for certain.More

Don’t bother visiting this bar as the staff are rude and they really don’t like foreigners. Had a drink here and wanted to order food but couldn’t...it used to be a lot more friendly but not now....avoid.

If you know what Czech cuisine is like then you won't be surprised to find out all the good meat on your table but this place totally rocked my world with the quality of it! I've had my fare share of pig knuckles but the...one I had here was the best so far. Size of the portions is also very hearty, prices - definitely not something that you'd expect from a place so close to all the tourists attractions - and I mean in a good way. One thing to notice, the tables are being shared with others so if there are only two of you at the table for 6 don't be surprised to see people join you.More

Krcma U Parasutistu is a wonderful pub in the New Town that I found many years ago as I was visiting the beautiful St Cyril and St Methodius Church, the church were the Czech paratroopers who assassinated Reinhard Heydrich in 1842 made their famous last stand,on...every subsequent holiday I take to this most beautiful of cities I always make a point of visiting the church and the cool pub adjacent. The pub itself is superb, the main room is dominated by the solid wood serving bar, great decor and furnishings, lots of WW2 memorabilia adorning the walls and there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, it really is one of my must go pubs in Prague. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a freezing cold and rainy Monday night ,pub was busy with a nice atmosphere, we were greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff, we ordered a pilsner urquell beer each, these were served as is the traditional in Prague with a big foamy head, iced cold and sparkling, we just chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. I really enjoy pilsner urquell beer, it's such a light and hoppy lager style beer bursting with taste, very easy to drink and a beer style I am particularly fond of, on this visit I cannot really comment on the meals as we were here only for beers but I have ate here on many occasions over the years and the meals are just superb, proper hearty Czech cuisine, tasty and filling. We really enjoyed our beers in here and the great vibe so much so that we ended up staying for another beer each and a becherovka shot before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. Krcma U Parasutistu is easy to locate on Resslova, its adjacent to the St Cyril & St Methodius church and across the road from St Wenceslas Church Of Zderaz. Opening hours are; Monday to Friday, 11am till 11pm. Saturday, Midday till Midnight. Sunday, Midday till 10pm. A great pub, well worth checking out if your in the New Town.More
