My wife and I stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel in Prague and just a couple minutes away is the Restaurant Baterka. We intended to have dinner there just once but since it was so good we returned for a second dinner. And then on the third day, the day we left Prague, we returned for lunch. All of our meals... We were passing and came across this place, we really liked it, Good selection of beer, food selection looked good (I had a salad as I had spent the last few days eating things that were beige or fried, I needed something green!) there is free wifi which is always good! Staff were friendly.

We were a group of 5 visiting for dinner. the restaurant was busy and seemed to be a good choice for locals. The menu offered regional dishes and a good selection of dark beer, light bear and wines. The staff was friendly and service was prompt. The food was tasty and everyone enjoyed the meal....

We wanted to eat authentic local cuisine and were recommended to try here. It was so convenient for our hotel and we were so tired at the end of each day's site seeing after the first night we didn't feel the need to explore further. Friendly service, particularly as we were becoming almost regulars. Free wifi though it may be... More

- German Text below - after 8 days of Prague we discovered the Baterka close to the Metronom and the Oldnew Synagoge. It's devintitly the best restaurant we have been! I had a Beef Steak with Risotto und it was like in a star cuisine! Absolutly amazing has been the Mojito's too. I am a lover of those Cocktails and... More

I was here for lunch. I ordered a small salad bowl and a chicken burger. The latter was not a burger but a very oily schnitzel-like fried breaded chicken (so not a burger at all). Price is fair, still expensive for that sort of restaurant in Prague. Nothing special. Not recommended.

We stopped here for lunch after slogging round the centre of Prague and couldn't be bothered walking back into town. Glad we stopped, the Baterka doesn't look inviting from the street but once inside we were convinced. Frequented by locals which is always a good sign. Excellent range of food from local spicey pancakes, to moussaka and goulash. I had... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
