Walking down Karmeliska on a cold but bright Saturday morning my twin brother Stephen and I decided to drop into Balcone's ,a pub we've never been into before ,a pub we had a great time in. Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my...visit here, the interior is superb ,traditional, built around an eye catching serving bar, great decor and furnishings ,there's plenty of seating options both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling Karmeliska ,it's a great pub to unwind in. We sat outside even though it was chilly,we ordered beers from Staropramen Brewery ,these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and with the distinctive foamy head so characteristic of the way Czech beer is poured and served,we settled back and planned out the day ahead while sipping our beers. My beer was really good,a light, hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste when served in pristine condition as in this pub it's such a delicious brew,it should be in good condition as the huge Staropramen Brewery is located just a five minute tram ride from this pub. We really enjoyed our beers sat outside here before we moved on and for a first time visit to Balcone's we had a great time. Balcone's is easy to locate along Karneliska. Opening hours are; Monday to Friday, open from 8am. Saturday & Sunday, open from 9am. A great pub, well worth checking out if you're in the area.More

Shockingly awful No Atmosphere Dirty table linen, dirty restaurant that needs a make over. Toilets not good. No Covid safety practice in place. No masks by staff. Food - well it was absolutely tasteless and made by someone with zero skill. What a disappointment in...a city full of wonderful eating establishments. Worst meal I think I have ever had without any exaggeration and it was only a pizza and a panini!!More

Decent stop off, whilst exploring Lesser Town. We only ate outside, but the food was made prompt , and fresh. Reasonably priced. We revisited about 3 times.

The food and service was excellent. We visited here two years ago and wanted see if anything had changed. All still great sat outside and although it was pouring down with rain we just watched the world go by. A definite must when visiting Prague

Vegetarian options were quite welcome, I had a pizza and my girlfriend had a garlic based pasta that she enjoyed. It was warm there, which was also quite welcome on a cold day in January.

Conveniently located and a pleasant place to stop for an informal, low-key, and reasonable dinner. Combines some Czech dishes along with Italian fare and pizza.

Stopped here for drinks as it was on the main road. Order was taken for drinks which we received timely but no-one came near us again. 30 minutes after finishing still no staff near us. I went inside to ask for a bill and was...met with a bit of attitude and impatience by the waitress. Another 15 minutes, still no bill. So I went back inside to pay it myself as we wanted to leave. 405 czk for 2 soft drinks, a 0.5l beer and 0.5l cider. Was definitely ripped off as the beer and cider were 95 czk each - why would soft drinks cost more? Didn't even want to argue so just paid and left.More

Service was good.. but that’s where it ended. There is a restaurant next door with a chain that divides the two. I would t be surprised if the positive review were actually of that restaurant instead of this one. I ordered pizza and my daughter...ordered peppers and a side of garlic bread. It was apparent the garlic break was cooked on stale bread and the peppers were full of seeds and tasted like they were old. The pizza was soggy. We were the only ones in the place but the restaurant (divided by a chain) did not have an empty table. A group of 6 people came lead by a guide who knew one of the workers. Stay away!! This place has awful food. The place next door U prochazhu looked busy and better.More

We stopped for drinks only, service was fast and staff was plite and friendly. Prices were ok, possibly a bit high as this spot is right in tourist area, but it was fine for us. Didn't try any food, but there were many guests eating,...and they seemed pleased.More

We stopped in this restaurant because it was convenient. After we sat down I looked at the reviews and got worried. We got the goulash in a bread bowl and it was delicious. We even thought about getting a second bowl. I got the grilled...sausage which was a little overdone but still good. The potatoes that came with it were delicious. My wife got the margherita pizza which she said was good even though it was americanized. It tried a slice is it was good but not like an Italian pizza. The service was good and the waiter was friendly. So would we eat there again? YesMore

Our first time here, we ordered czech sausage with potatoes and a side of green beans with bacon. The food was really good however the service was horrible. The waitresses and cook was too busy yapping and laughing and being really loud, I tried to...wave one down so we could order some more soft drinks she looked then carried on talking then I said "excuse me" and she went "What?" I mean really, what?????? That's what you say to someone that is eating in your restaurant and paying you money for your service and food? I would have tipped if the service was good. The food was good. Staff just terrible.More

Shaded terrace, but some limited morning sun, for a morning coffee. For lunch, share a pizza and a beer. Nothing spectacular, and rather higher price than on the other side of the Karls bridge. The tend to play nice Croatian and Balkan music out of...the sound system. Personnel is average friendly, but adapt to your own attitude, which is fair.More
