What a gem of a find. Sit at your table and you are served by model trains! Found this after many visits to Prague .Situated at the top of Wenceslas Square.

Wonderful experience. The train service is fun to watch, and the food (many kinds of meat) is really, really good. Recommended!

Friends from out of town wanted to eat here - they thought it sounded amazing. We read reviews here and were skeptical - we live in Prague and have seen our share of bad restaurants that serve poorly-made, expensive food to rip off tourists. This...seemed like a fancier version of that scheme. We were pleasantly surprised. Although the food isn't cheap, it was tasty. Our waitress was wonderful. The steaks and burgers were all good. Unfortunately, french fries by rail arrive cold. If you have kids or people who are into trains, this will probably be fun. I wouldn't visit again on my own, though. Once is enough.More

Food is okay. Having little trains come with your food is fun. However we waited for 1 hour for 1 burger.

Clearly the worst place I ever been. We came here for a drink with my girlfriend. She wanted to go to the toilets and so asked for a member of the staff where they were. The man answered « There’s no toilets here ». 3 minutes after...this, thé same man came to our table and asked if we were ready to order something to drink, I told him « yes, but before I would like to know if there is some toilets here » he points his finger somewhere and told me “here”. I try to follow his finger and see nothing so ask him again “where” he said “here, ok bye !” And left. He came back a second later, smiling and not apologizing for his behavior or the way he was talking to us « So, what would you like to drink », I told him « Why are you talking to us like that, we want to drink something but just first, before drinking, we would like to go to the toilets, and be sure that there is some as you told my girlfriend there is not ». He told me « I’m just here to give you food or drinks » and so I told him « So we will go, bye ». We’re really, we clearly wanted to have a good time here, and discover a good concept and even if we know that someday could be hard, we never expected this. This is the first time we’re doing this in our own life.More

Loved the concept of this restaurant. The train brings you your food and drink as you wait, then beeps and reverses away from your table. We had the beer train and enjoyed it a lot. Good was okay. Could definitely get something better elsewhere but...the train definitely made it worth it. Staff seemed bored, but the train made up for that. Located in a good place for easy access!More

The Výtopna Railway Restaurant is, without doubt, a gimmick. But it is a wonderful and fun dining experience. The restaurant is essentially a large model train set with each table either having a direct siding running onto it or easy access to load and unload...from the wagons. The system is straightforward. After being shown to your table, you make your order with the waiting staff. A short while later a locomotive hauled train of one or two wagons will pull into the siding on your table and draw right up to the buffer stops. The wagons will contain your drinks or your meals. You lift them off and place them on the table. The locomotive sounds a horn and propels back off the siding from your table onto the main line. The points change and the train draws away back to the kitchen area and/or the bar. Simple! However, as like the real railway it is subject to issues caused by problems from ‘passengers’. There is a fairly generous but limited time for diners to unload their cargo of drinks and food. And, the diners are generally so taken by the novelty of being served by a train in a private siding on their table. They spend so much time taking photographs and video that the time limit expires and the train starts to propel out of the siding. This causes a panic with people trying to unload items from a moving train. At the end of your meal an empty train is routed to your siding and you load your empty plates, glasses etc and off it goes. Of course, no one from the restaurant explains how the system is to be operated but you pick it up from seeing what other diners are doing. Kids love this this. And the adults are probably more enthusiastic about the railway layout and seeing trains pass to and from other tables. The food is good but not exceptional. Obviously, this restaurant would not have such a high level of diners if it were not for the gimmick. I had a lovely dark beer and a gourmet burger with chips. But they do extend up to steaks and other dishes. When served they come in a long dark metal plate with a similar plate as a lid. This means that your food is protected as it travels around the ‘network’ to get your siding. The gimmick may even help with up selling items. When the waiting staff asked if I wanted another beer my wife and son answered for me as they wanted the train to return to deliver my drink and take the empty glass back to ‘marshalling yard’. You don’t have to be into trains and railways to enjoy this restaurant. It’s a fun experience and something out of the ordinaryMore

The restaurant is really worth visiting. Not all items on the menu contain prices - it's worth asking, so you don't be surprised when paying.

It is very very very bad place. Toilet is dirty, food is overpriced (especially the steak), waiter is slow and unprofessional. Do not recommend. Two stars for train and chicken nuggets.
