If you are looking for a great mushroom kulajda soup or strawberry taštička, this place is a must in Prague. From outside it is business restaurant, from inside it is a near-michelin star quality food and great service. Recommend it!
Incredible traditional Czech meals from small sandwiches, incredible soups, main dishes and deserts! Delicious traditional Czech flavors as well as beautiful presentation and Service! The staff is very attentive, the chef takes your order and makes sure the food is to your liking. This typical czech deli offers plenty types of open sandwiches and also some soup, basic meals and drinks. They also sell couple of types of wordl delicous products like smoked salmon, roastbeef, capers,... Everything we had was absolutely fresh and tasty.
The interior is easy...and clean, service quick. It is good choice for quick lunch or just a small break.More
On our last day in Prague me and my partner we decided to visit Jan Paukert as it was pretty much next door to our hotel.
We decided to have drinks and cakes.
My girlfriend went for the cheese cake which was lovely and I...went for the chocolate cake which I could not resist and would definitely have again.More
Old school Czech "deli", been there since 1916. Both counter service, where you pick from numerous open face sandwiches, roast beef, smoked fishes, euro-salads and/or hot food (usually 4-5 items). You can have a nice Moravian wine with your meal, and then another counter of...baked delights and coffee.
The preparation was exemplary, this is a "local" place, not tourist. I had a duck soup that blew my foodie mind.
The food was so well done, fresh, interesting, even my teenagers asked to come back for another meal.
This is definitely a stop for anyone in Prague. Its not "fancy" but it is extraordinary, and very local.
Its only a few minutes walk away from the tourist area, but yet where the locals go to town.
Did I mention the prices were shockingly good for what we had?More
