This place is expensive but understandable since it only serves top end steak and high end culinary dishes. Small place maybe seats 25 max but the services staff are very attentive, dishes are delicious and a big wine menu. Definitely a more romantic dinner venue, or lunch. Lovely setting and ambience with chef creating some very exclusive tastes from top meats. We had a beautiful valentines dinner (5 course) + bottle of Italian wine €200 for two. We will return ...

We stumbled across this fantastic restaurant while wandering through the streets near the main square of Prague. Being Australian, we are familiar with high quality meat restaurants and this is surely one of the best.
The quality of the meat is outstanding for a start. Then you add the incredibly high standard of the cooking and the choice of sides and sauces, along with the great wine (very ably recommended by the knowledgeable waiter) and the overall service in the intimate environment and you have a really winning recipe.
Four of us, two couples, enjoyed a fantastic meal and night and we’d all highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a high quality meal at a very reasonable price.
Thanks to Daniele and his team for an unforgettable experience.

...Or at least the way you feel about steak.
I almost never order steak out, because my expectations are difficult to meet, but this restaurant has turned all that around with their outstanding selection and service. Attentive, cordial staff are happy to make recommendations, and one can order confidently, knowing everything here will have a special twist and be of top quality, from starter to salad to the mindblowing steak, with bespoke knives to match the quality of the meat. A warm and relaxed atmosphere allows you focus on the exceptional meal ahead, which makes MeatEater my instant favourite.

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the steaks served in this tiny restaurant. We have eaten at quite a few steakhouses globally and this one certainly ranks amongst the best in the world. The 2 T-bones and 1 cuberol that we got served were perfectly cooked, juicy and melted in your mouth delicious. The service was intimate and attentive. The wine list, admittedly, mostly Italian reds - no problem with that - should satisfy even the most demanding connoisseur. We would certainly be back for more!

I visited this steakhouse a couple of days ago, and it was one of the most memorable meals I had in Prague.
I hadn't been to many steakhouses recently, so was worried I would be clueless with what to order, but the server was incredibly helpful and informed, knowing everything about the meat and what wine to pair it with.
The food was excellent, one of the best steaks I ever had, and it was perfectly cooked.
What most impressed me, however, was the attention to detail. The server was so attentive and thoughtful without being overbearing and ensured we had a great time. The restaurant perfectly balances high-quality dining and special surroundings with a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, and I would definitely return in the future.

An ambient restaurant which is personal and has a unique feel. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable and provided guidance and relevant information. We had pork belly burnt ends for starter which were tasty and the sauce was incredible. Now for the meat; we shared a T Bone Steak; seasoned and sliced in front of you and cooked to perfection, tender and melted in the mouth. Side dish of the hand made potato wedges were scrumptious. If you are a red wine drinker then there is lots and lots of choice, not so much for white and definitely limited choice for Rose wine.
All in all a fantastic and flavoursome meal and I would highly recommend this restaurant; a wonderful experience

I visited this plase with great expectations, but I left with even greater experience. The staff is professional and likeable. Even if you do not feel like a meat expert and struggle with decision which cut is best for you, they are more then happy to help you with your journey to the best steak in your life.

A group of 7 of us dined here on a Weds night, it was booked based on Trip Advisor search and how lucky we were..!! This place is fantastic, small and intimate, beautifully laid out, great smells greet you when you come in the door and you can’t wait to eat..!
The hosts Daniel and David were superb, service was 100% and yet they were personable and friendly.
This restaurant serves meat, do not go here if it’s fish or chicken you want.! The menu was very well explained by David, and he recommended a sharing plate for starters and mains. We thought we might need more (we were hungry.!!) but he called it just right.
The pork belly burnt ends for starters were absolutely delicious and rightfully come highly recommended.
We had three different steaks shared for mains, all three were excellent, together with a beautiful selection of sides. 😋
Great wine 🍷 served too, all in all we had a fabulous evening - top marks to all involved, we even got to meet the chefs afterwards which included one Irishman from Belfast.! ☘️
Top class, well done to Daniel from Bologna for running a superb restaurant 👏👏

A small and cozy restaurant which is smart but not pretentious. The pork gyozas and the tomahawk steak were absolutely delicious. Each member of staff was friendly and knowledgeable, explaining about the cooking process and how the seasoning had been developed. We loved that the chef came out to talk to us after the meal - a really nice guy who is clearly on a mission to keep experimenting and provide the best possible taste. I’m tempted to go back to Prague just to eat here again

Restaurant MeatEater is an exclusive mus-try when visiting Prague.
the small restaurant, with a big panorama window directly to the kitchen, has a really nice and warm atmosphere, with outstanding and delicious food.
the owner himself did welcome us, and ran through the whole menu card with us, and was able to select the perfect bottle of wine that matched our wishes and expectations perfectly.
Our highest recommendation goes to this fantastic place, and we will definitely come back.

The restaurant is nice, however, the word 'pretentious' comes to mind when I try to describe it. The staff were polite, however, one felt the need to pressure a member of my group to go for a medium ribeye rather than the medium well they had asked for because of 'the way they cook it.' When the steaks finally came out, the 'medium' ribeye had parts ranging all the way from rare to well done. Given the prices they charge, I honestly would have expected a cooking process that gives far more respect to the animal. The starters and side dishes were nothing to write home about either, leaving me scratching my head as to whether I went to the same place as all the reviews. I could not say if there is a better steak place in Prague but I've certainly been to much better (and cheaper) restuarants in Paris, London and New York.

We have a deep sense of respect for the raw materials that we use: we study and practice old and new cooking techniques and we constantly update the menu with seasonal dishes.
If the staff suggests you to try a particular cut or a certain degree of doneness, it is because we want all our clients to taste the best cuts cooked to perfection. It makes no difference, in terms of time or effort, to cook a steak one way or another. It makes a big difference in terms of taste. Cooking meat is our job and we think we know how to do it: we respect your tastes but we feel free to suggest (suggest, not impose) what we believe to be the best.
You are right to notice that most of the reviews on this platform are very positive: we are happy and proud of our work, and we thank all the guests who visited MeatEater for leaving feedback.
We aim to please everybody, but we are well aware of some limits. Probably we are not your kind of restaurant, or maybe it was just the wrong night.

You don't come here for just a meal - you come here for an experience. Someone once told me that you can tell when food is cooked with love, and I believe you can really taste it at MeatEaters. The food was so good we skipped out of there on a high and talked about it for two days afterwards!
Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and everything he recommended - from the wine to the meat, the sides and portion size, was perfect. We had a steak which was one of the specials, and it was literally the best steak I have ever had in my life. Even the fat was such a joy to eat that my partner (who usually only eats lean meat) took the lions share.
They recently started baking and the focaccia was also a wow.
I can't wait to come back. The location is a charming backstreet, so it is perfectly located for a post dinner wander through old town Prague. This is my new favourite place for special occasions.

Dear readers,
On Saturday 21st August my friend and I had the honor to dine in this exquisite restaurant the Meateater. From the outside perhaps one may have reasons to hesitate entering. But, once inside, the cozy and friendly ambience covers you with a subtle mantle of hospitality. A very friendly young lady encourages you to feel at home and starts introducing you in the treats of the house, of course starting with an excellent glass of wine. Susequenlty Daniele, the master griller himself, approaches your table to explain his meat concept and the different delicacies he has to offer. Really, he serves the best of the best you can find on the globe. But first we had a very delicate amuse, followed by an even more delicate asparagus soup as appetizer. As main dish we both had Cuberoll special selection from Poland. And I must say that it was a very tongue melting juicy and tender piece of meat. The meat was accompanied by exquiste side dishes and meat sauces. Really worthwhile and great value for money. We sticked to one glass of wine only although the quality invited to drink ad infinitum. But the next day we had to travel early so it was wise to remain sober. The service also was excellent. Appropriate attention for the guest when needed and regular inquiries at the table how everything was marching with the dining experience.
There was a very interesting dessert, but unfortunately there was no space anymore in our stomachs to place such goody. My friend needed to leave earlier, but I stayed a little while enjoying a superb Sicilian digestive. I have to add that normally I fo not eat meat in the evening, because it will affect my sleep negatively. But now I slept like a rose with all that beef in my body. This defenitely says something about the quality of the product, which is exceptionately good.
All by all it was a fabulous culinary experience and I look forward to my next visit to Prague, because I am sure the Meat Eater will be the first restaurant I will visit on this next trip. I wish Daniele and his staff lots of success.

Very pleasant and professional staff. perfectly presented dish, excellent tasting. We recommend choosing mashed potatoes for the side dish. True lovers of good meat and you can tell because they offer you to cut the succulent and very tender meat using numbered Japanese knives. The specific cooking brings a taste of smoke that reminds you of summer barbecue evenings with your friends. The quality of a French gourmet restaurant for a third of the price, do not hesitate!

The best steak we ever tried and I'm saying this considering we also tried many times the Tuscany one - Fiorentina - at ones of the best restaurants in Italy.
The chef is an Italian guy from Bologne who moved to Prague and brought the steak cooking to a whole new level. He was so friendly and also came to us for a pleasant discussion, he was a really nice guy besides a great chef and we discovered that we have a lot in common.
The entire experience at this restaurant was a Michelin one, even though the star is not available (yet).
We had low to medium expectations to have this kind of culinary experience in Prague, and therefore we were highly impressed.
One of the waitress is a very pretty and helpful ukrainian girl which explained us the types of steaks and gave us excellent recommendations.
We will visit Prague again in one of the next springs and we will definitely come back to this restaurant.
The only drawback, if we can say like this, is the price because it places the restaurant in a low pool of particular ones, but if you can afford it, just go there and try it, I'm sure you wil not be disappointed and your taste buds will be happy as never before.
