The place was renovated from an old bank into the restaurant and it kept quite some details from the old times. And I love it. However, it's quite busy both during lunch and dinner time and they are definitely understaffed, it takes 30 minutes during lunchtime to get a meal and the prices are quite high even for the city center.

Casual visit with friends. Making online reservation is recommended. Gorgeous open space concept with friendly and cozy atmosphere. Super cool wooden tables. Tallest bier tower I'v evere seen which makes their beer fresh and super tasty. Food was very good - we had porchetta, pleskavica bot very juicy and some appetizers (pickled egg, sausages and pulled beef brisket). In comparison with traditional Czech pubs and restaurants this place is modern, fresh, open and welcoming. And has very friendly vibe. This is how dinning in 2020 should look like.

Absolutely loved the atmosphere of this restaurant. Great service and delicious food. Cannot forget great beer too! They serve only the best choice of meat. Not only your regular choices of steaks etc but also a variety of venison. I also loved the fact vegetarian food can be served as well for someone who wants to hang out with their meat-eating friends. The service was also very good. Very friendly personel.

Went for a meal with two friends tonight. Staff are really friendly, desert was amazing and of course excellent beer. However I ordered the Wagu burger- a whopping £23 (720czk)! And it first came out not as I asked it to be cooked. Was like raw mince on a burger roll, and when it came back the second time, it was still not as I asked it to be cooked and I could only eat half. My friend ordered a small brisket and we were charged a large. I would say say that when it comes to food this place seems to a tourist trap. No suggestion from the waitress to remove this from the bill, after half the burger I had I felt sick. Really think the food has let this place down. Was looking forward to this meal too. I have had better burgers in Prague for cheaper and a better atmosphere from staff especially when something has gone wrong, which is very rare I will admit! The staff changed their tune and were quite rude when I said I was not happy with the burger. I was Surrounded by three staff asking what was wrong with the meal. They then warmed up later after ignoring our table for about 30 mins. If you want to pay through the nose for inadequate food this is the place to go. If you don’t. Do not eat here but do go for coffee and cake or a beer.

So during my 9th visit to Prague in the last 10 years on the first Saturday of December 2021 I chose Cerveny Jelen as the place to have my Saturday evening meal. I was not in the slightest disappointed. I have visited Cerveny Jelen before on my last visit to Prague in Dec 2019 however that experience i felt was a bit rushed as we dropped in with no booking and so could only have a table for 90 odd mins. This time me and my friend made a booking in advance in the UK and had the table from 7 through to close. An old bank converted into a fine Czech cuisine restaurant with Tankovna Pilsner Urquell on draft what's not to like? The service was really good and the waiter was attentive. Food was a bit pricy but well worth it. We both had the Wagyu burger, and the meat was so tender it melted in the mouth, piping hot and the beer came as quick as we could quaff it. So much beer was consumed. The food, the service and the setting just all came together in this amazing meal out package which really marked the visit to Prague. Would i go again? Yes, i would even travel to prague for a couple of nights just to visit here again.

This restaurant is totally cool and gorgeous. I was really suprised. The waiters were absolutely top :) I think the chef is master, cause food was so tasty! Quiet place with elegant interior. And what is important, prices are normal for everyone.

My family and I came to Červeny Jelen for lunch and we loved it! We ordered various types of meat plates such as: Beef ribs, sirloin steak and beef tartare. All the food was exceptional and a pleasure to eat. Of course there was great czech beer and some good desserts. The restaurant is very nice with two floors of tables, a bar, an open kitchen and various original decorations. The waiters were very kind as they suggested us some meals and spoke perfect English. Not the cheapest dining option in Prague, however quality of food, service and location stood up to it. We enjoyed eating here and we recommend to visit the restaurant once in a while.

Me and my family went to this restaurant to get lunch for the first advent Sunday. We waited for an hour to get our food and after we got our food it was very cold. The hottest thing on the table was the cutting board that the food was served on. The food tasted like that it was from a school. We ordered food for 2 people but the portion was like for a child. The service was Ok.

Nice place in a great location, but one of my food orders was a huge disappointment. The cheese plate was overpriced and flavourless. I'm Czech and enjoy all levels of restaurants in Prague, so I know what to expect for different prices. The 290kc cheese plate consisted of two tiny blocks of mold with no flavour along with 2 crackers that can be bought at various shops in the city for a few crowns per cracker. I wonder who would me more offended by this menu item as it was prepared: Czech or French customers.

This is a unique restaurant which is situated in a former bank. The interior design takes advantage of the reinforced vault construction to provide an interesting atmosphere. The restaurant serves Plisner Urquell from a tank, which guarantees the freshest possible beer. I have eaten here twice and and come rwice just for beers. Their beef brisket is incredible. The only knock against them is the service can be hit or miss. Not terrible, just not great, partly because it is very busy. Nonetheless, you shouldn’t miss it.

Beautiful huge pub in reconstructed palace. Probably the best beer in Prague, good selection of meals to match, always nice to visit. This time we had to have lunch to take away, which takes a lot of pleasure out of it... Will definitely come again when they're properly open

I've heard many positive things about this restaurant. On my last visit to Prague, I visited the restaurant to be able to give my own opinion. And indeed, nothing was exaggerated. It is in the centre of Prague with a modern ambience. The staff was extremely friendly and correct, but not stiff. The food was delicious, not only that it was just right in terms of preparation, but the combination of flavours was really top-notch and delicate. Definitely recommended when visiting Prague.

I visited with my family on January 1st to celebrate and the restaurant has a very funky, cool decor. There were 6 adults and 2 kids with us, the service was great and the food & drink were delicious but very heavily catering towards the meat eaters (which you can't really expect more from a restaurant with this name), but literally everything had meat in it (besides the cheese board). My brother is a vegetarian and ordered the only vegetarian main they had on the menu and he said it was terrible. Great to go if you don't mind that, and my husband and I would go back again.

This, restaurant was recommended to us and we're lucky to be squeezed in without a reservation on Friday night. Service was friendly and the place was very busy. Menu was varied enough although a lot of the recommended dishes were very pricey ones! One of us took the wild boar sausage pick but didn't really like it. The other option was more tasty. You might need a reservation here..

Wow, wow, wow and just plain WOW. I saw this place on the Honest Guide YouTube channel when i was studying up things to see and do and places to eat when in Prague. So glad I did. The restaurant is very large and also very busy. We didn't have a reservation but they seated us in no time flat. The menu was small but good. They also brew there own Pilsner beer there as well and it was heavenly. As its the The Red Stag, we had to have deer for the meal. I had braised deer while my wife had a seared loin. Both meals were out of this world in flavor and taste. The dumplings that came with the braised deer were the best dumplings I've ever had. the meals was just perfect. The Pilsner beer they brew was outstanding and it comes in the cleanest glasses you can imagine. Its an artform just to watch them pour a beer. They take a lot of care to ensure the beer is un spoilt and as fresh as possible. Man, the results are amazing. Its one of the best beers that I have drunk around the world. The desserts were also very nice. There is a great selection in the glass case in the middle of the restaurant. It is a little more expensive than some restaurants in the area but totally worth it. Drop in for a meal and beer, you will definitely not regret it.
