Went for evening meal and just ordered main courses, we waited an hour for them to arrive, the waiter when asked said they had an issue with the chicken. When they arrived the other dish(pork) was cold so i asked for it reheating. By the time they brought this back my wife had almost finished her meal. The food was... More

Having enjoyed another Czech restaurant, I tried this one to repeat the experience, so perhaps the other one setup a higher expectation. Meal was a generous serve but unremarkable. The gentleman waiter was sorely however. Not directed at anyone, but clearly not wanting to be there. No real ambience. Could be so much better

We found this place on our way home after dinner on Wednesday 12/04 and decided to give a go for a drink. The decoration is really nice and the tank beer even better! I have also tried the white Czech wine and was not a disappointment either. It seems to be the place where locals meet and that is what... More

If you want tasty local food with generous portions at a good price and are not looking for a fine dining experience then this place is a good choice. The restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived even though it was a Saturday night and that's never a good sign but it did fill up later on. My husband had... More

We had a late lunch here when we had just arrived in snowy Prague. It was very quiet - only 5 other diners when we got there - but it was cosy and warm and the two staff working there were lovely. Our waitress couldn't have been nicer. She spoke very good English and when we asked her to help... More

We went back to this restaurant twice. The food is very good. Their specialty is a roast knuckle of suckling pig, which is huge and takes about 45 minutes to cook. Don't have an entree if ordering this. Their other Czech food is excellent. Their Svíčková the traditional Czech dish is excellent as as their sweets. Like most Czech establishments... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
