My twin brother Stephen and I walked through the wonderful Zizkov- Karlin Tunnel ,emerging Karlin District side we visited some of the great pubs in this area,one that I really enjoy visiting on any trip to Prague I take is Vratnice .
Set over two floors, wonderful decor and furnishings, a cool looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar, its a great bar to unwind in.
We were here on a Wednesday night, this bar was packed with a great atmosphere, we luckily managed to get a table were we ordered some great ipa's ,these beers were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and with the distinctive foamy head so characteristic of the way Czech beer is poured and served, we just kicked back and took in the great bar we were in.
My ipa was really good, a crisp, well balanced ipa, hints of toffee, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish to it, it was just so good being in such a lovely craft beer bar enjoying a quality brew, its hardly surprising that this bar is so popular with beers this good.
We really enjoyed our ipa's in here and the great vibe so much so that we ended up staying for another ipa each before we moved on and as on every other visit to Vratnice we had a great time.
Vratnice is easy to locate along Thamova ,a street and an area teeming with pubs,bars and restaurants.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday, 3pm till 11pm.
A great craft beer bar, well worth checking out if you're in the Karlin District.

If there's one craft beer bar I know I'm going to visit on any holiday I take to Prague its Vratnice ( Gatehouse ) which is one of the best craft beer bars in this fascinating city.
My twin brother and I were exploring around the wonderful Karlin neighbourhood ( Praha 8 ) and dropped into here on a Wednesday afternoon, I love the look of this bar, an industrial decorative look to it ,set over two floors, multi roomed, a cool looking serving bar and beers displayed on boards by the serving bar, its a totally cool craft beer destination.
We had a study of their beer range which I must say I was impressed with ,in the end my brother and I both opted to have ipa's from Libertas Brewery ,these were served in pristine condition, we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular craft beer bar while sipping our ipa's.
My ipa was really good, crisp,well balanced, well crafted, hints of toffee, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish to it we both enjoy, a classic Czech ipa indeed, hardly surprising that this bar is so popular with beers served in this good a condition.
We both really enjoyed our ipa's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to Vratnice we had a great time.
Vratnice is easy to locate along Thamova, its close to the famous Zizkov/Karlin Tunnel.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday, 3pm till 11pm.
Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Waitress apparently prefers to check mobile than serving us. She seems to be bored and let us feel we are not welcomed to drink beers. She never asked us if we want other drinks. 3 people on bar but apparently more busy about her noisy dog and these people than customers.
Don’t go there, plenty of other bar around

Vrátnice Craft Beer is without doubt one of the best craft beer bar's in Karlín that offer a great range of craft beers and is located on Thámova.This craft beer bar was a very good bar to visit in this superb area and its a bar we have visited a few time's.
The bar itself has an excellent interior with a ground and first floor seating area.There are many interesting fixture's and feature's and superb seating options throughout it's whole interior and on our visit this fantastic bar was very lively.When we visited we had a few glasse's of craft beer from a brewery called Libertas which where excellent and and well priced.
This is a brilliant craft beer bar that's in an excellent area of Prague as it's by a tunnel that connect's Žìžkov to Karlín and is really easy to locate from Křižíkova metro or tram stop its a minutes walk away.(This is my 2nd review of Vrátnice Craft Beer).

Vràtnice-Craft Beers on Thámova is one of the best craft beer bar's we visited while in Karlín.This superb craft beer bar offer one of the best craft beer menus in Prague and was one of the many place's we went to on a seven day holiday in Prague.
This superb craft beer bar has ground and first floor seating area's and throughout its whole interior many interesting features on prominent display.This fantastic craft beer bar was rammed when we went here early in the evening but they managed to find us a table which was a kind gesture.When we visited we had a few glasses of craft beers from the Czech Republic which were really good and for the beer's we had really well priced.
This is a fantastic craft beer bar thats well worth visiting as is this area of Prague and is easy to find from Křižíkova metro its only a few minutes walk.(This is my first review of Vràtnice-Craft Beers).

Found this great beer pub as we were wandering around this part of town and what a great find.
A pub on two levels with great decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar and beers on offer displayed on boards behind the bar, there's also plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, it's just a great place to unwind in.
We were here on a Thursday night, this pub was packed with a great atmosphere, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff, after a quick study of the beers on offer we both opted to have an IPA beer each, these were served in excellent condition, as the bar was packed it was standing room only but with beers this good hardly surprising really.
My IPA was absolutely fantastic, a light,hoppy and well balanced IPA bursting with taste and very easy to drink and a beer style I really enjoy, my twin brother also gave the thumbs up to his beer.
We really enjoyed our beers in here and although we only stayed for the one beer each before we moved on for a first time visit we were very impressed with Vratnice.
Creative is easy to locate ,tram number 3.8.53 to stop Křižikova or metro line B to stop Křižikova were you walk towards the hills were you will find this pub on Thamova.
A great pub,well worth checking out if your in the area.
