Lokal is a fun beer hall that is popular with both tourists and locals. Reservations are a must! Goulash and sausages are terrific. Beer is great too. Service is a bit abrupt but efficient.

Opened 6 years ago, purposely stark, like what it may have looked during the Communist era. Food was excellent, and Pilsner Beer too. Learned that the foam is the sweet part.

This is a very popular place in the Old Town. Centrally located, its like a hostel canteen. Huge, busy and plainly furnished. The food is good and reasonably priced. The beers are worth trying. Do note they take the last order for dinner at 10 pm.After that a cold selection is available.Dinner time also sees a rush enough to involve waiting... More

Did dinner here, gets very busy and we were seated in the cellar-- 2 levels below ground level. A bit spooky but still very nice. Attentive service and the sausages and fried cheese were top notch. Loved the chilled Czech lager. A lot less expensive than most of the tourist trap restaurants in the old city.

The Tourist bureau employee recommended we try this place as all the food is sourced in the Czech republic, making it truly authentic Czech food. The authentic thing is taken to such an extreme that you can't order your teenager a Coke a Cola (as we discovered). Only Czech food and drinks at this place. We found they don't do... More

This is an excellent venue for a drink and a bite to eat. Although the food isn't top quality, it is adequate and it's not at all expensive. There's a good atmosphere and there are large screens to watch the sport. There were quite a few more men than women and there were a lot there so the service wasn't... More

This is a concept of the typical Czech pub from the time before the Velvet revolution. It's very popular by locals, so you better do a reservation. If you are for the first time in Prague, you have to try Deep fried cheese and Kofola.

Really tasty sampling of local food!! Czech food is not really synonymous with 'fresh,' (more like heavy, dense), but the traditional heavy, dense dishes were made with the freshest, best ingredients- you could really tell! Pork shoulder schnitzel was delicious and really tender. Ambience is nothing to write home about- the words 'communist chic' come to mind- but with tasty... More

Warning: This is not the place to go if you are a rice pudding lover. All other food was great except the rice pudding. If you come here and order it get ready to cry for days. Other than the rice pudding all the other food was quite good. Homemade sausages are delicious. Prepare yourself for slow service.

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
