Friendly atmosphere, quick serving, very high "price/proportion" index, returned several times, the quality stays high.

I can only think that the management or chef has changed as this place is extremely poor and would never visit again. The photos of the interior are not the same. We arrived at 20:00 with only one other couple in the restaurant who soon departed. We had a choice of two Reds and went for the Czech one which... More

This is our third visit to this restaurant. We came here in November 2015 twice. And again this visit. The waiter recognised us when we made a booking at lunchtime for this evening. He is a great host. We even got the same table that we liked even without asking for it. The food was great as usual, and the... More

Honestly, we probably never would have found Monarchie, but our local guide in Prague recommended it when I shot her an email before the trip. This was our first day/night in Europe and our family of 4 was exhausted. We had a very nice meal and really enjoyed our waiter who was very sweet. The food was good and fresh... More

Across the street from our hotel is this little gem, run by family, food sourced from their own farm. We had duck pate, lamb pate, baked pike and slow-cooked roast lamb - universally excellent with good local pinot and cybernetic wines. Service was great and prices modest. Very good local fare.

After a long days walking and sightseeing we were exhausted and just wanted a light supper. We went out from the hotel and found this great unpretencious little place within 100 yds. of the hotel. Excellent value with good sized portions. So good we ate a full meal rather than a snack but at a tiny cost.

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
