Kolkovna Budejovicka represents a magical gateway between the hustle and bustle of the 21st century and the more serene times of the interwar period. The menu offers an excelent modern interpretation of classic Czech cuisine, beer snacks and selected specialities of international cuisine. Besides Pilsner Urquell guests can obviously enjoy other beers served on tap, such as Velkopopovicky Kozel stout, Master 13° Polotmavy and Birell Svetly.

The place is fine to visit once in a while if you work or live in this area. It's the best Kolkovna out of this chain of restaurants, however, sometimes way too busy and staff isn't friendly. They offer only czech food.
Restaurant was great and very busy. Maybe that’s why the personnel was nearly unfriendly. Food and drinks are excellent, but I was nearly forced to add a service fee to the bill, and the guy told me what to add. I would really decide that...for myself. That way you don’t make friends. It’s very unlikely that I’ll be back this week.More
This is how the staff treated us with loads of coins when we told him the change was less than what it supposed to be. The check was €18.4, we paid €50, he gave us CZK 750 back. As the change rate showed on the...menu, it’s wrong.
He used his phone to calculate in front of us, and found out his change was less. Then he came back, put coins on the desk saying something like we don’t give tips. Come on, it’s your dishonest.
PS: dark beer was so so. I wanted to go back for food, but now, never again... extremely disappointed... Big sad face.More
Classic Kolkovna pub, but Budějovická is perfect. We had the spinach pancake and Carpaccio. It was excellent. Really good kitchen.
Service was great too.
Price is not expensive.
One of the best kolkovna in the city!
I recommend this nice restaurant!
Had lunch today with a friend, food very nice, girl bringing the food was nice.
Once we had to pay, the guy taking care of the payment, once he sees I speak english he had this rood mocking expression.. Service is not only about the...food, which was great ,but also the people that work there..big minus for the second part !More
We were here for a large team dinner while we were in Prague. I enjoyed the whole experience. The food was great (I had one of their specialities - the Goose) and the overall ambience was very friendly.
For some reason, Kolkovna is not a place I would go with my friends to (it just does not have that cosy feeling), but it is great for business lunches and dinners. Great and consistent quality of food, good selection and great beer. I always...enjoyed their starters - pickled fish (not anymore), pickled cheese, tartar steak. Great twist on typical czech food, even though you need to be careful as it is not lightweight cooking. My personal favorite is the duck, even though I always skip the dumplings - they are great (!!!), but just too heavy for my stomach.More
